Chapter 17: Traitor Part 4
Well, I guess chaos magic is not needed.
"WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!! AAAHHH!!!"
About a quarter of the warriors and half of the mages have already gone insane from the dire situation without me doing anything. Uh, that guy is heading toward the skeleton war lines.
"AAHH!!!"
Huh, guess the Wilhelm Scream is more common than I thought. Thought that only happened in movies and TV.
"People!!! Stand firm or we all fall!!!" About half of the people have recovered from that. Was that a skill maybe?
"The legendary skill Leader's Will! Thanks leader, I needed that!" That answers my question. I guess the other half that's still insane are out of the range of the skill maybe?
"Look, the second line has been passed by the third beast skeleton line!"
"ALRIGHT WARRIORS!!! DESTROY THOSE SKELETONS OR WE ALL DIE!!!"
"RRRAAAAA!!!!"
"CHARGE!!!"
"Hey Amelia, since you didn't fire that many spells, can you cast a fire shield spell to cover the warrior line from arrows?"
<Do it. We can't have them suspecting us>
"Okay. Grant fiery protection to those in front of me from above. Fire Shield!"
"We still have mage support!! LET"S DO THIS!!!"
"OoOHh!!"
"Guess as the only one able to play the role of scout I should get in there and cover as much as possible."
"Don't push yourself too hard out there man."
"Come on Micheal. Your looking at the local hero that turned the tide against the monster stampede at Latmin. Quick question though, why is it that some people say monsters and others demons?"
"Seriously, your asking this now?!?"
"You know me, always lighthearted before a major fight. Time to be speedy!!" I ran quickly, catching the shots from the Skeleton Archers and putting them in the quiver, dodging them if my hands were full. I focused on breaking teeth, claws, and leg bones. Every time a Skeletal Beast almost got me, a warrior covered me with a shield. When a warrior fell, I pulled the body back so that the body didn't interfere with the fight, separating the shield and weapon into a pile. One guy had a buckler. I equipped that immediately.
<Fire some fire arrows at the Skeleton Archers>
"Oh flame, heed my call and shoot down my enemies. Fire Arrow Barrage!!" With that, the Skeleton Archers were mostly devastated. I took down the rest with blunt arrows. It wasn't long after that that an earth mage got enough stamina to use a burying spell and buried half the Skeletal Beasts. Those were quickly smashed in and then like a door opening, the line swung around and quickly crushed the last of the Skeletal Beasts.
"Don't forget the crippled Skeleton Warriors men! CRUSH THEM!!"
"YES SIR!!" And with that the battle quickly ended.
