Chapter 40: Easy Win
Weigela summoned her lyre and smirked. The boy was an earth mage but Weigela was confident she could beat him.
" Come earth!" Shards of rock sprung up from the stage and at Weigela. She merely strummed her slender fingers against the lyre.
WENG!
The shards flew back but Weigela had misjudged the amount of power and a powerful force of wine slammed into the boy. He flew back like a rag doll and landed with a bang outside the ring.
Izzy's mouth hung open but she couldn't help but giggle. The few spectators were quiet, they had all sensed the force behind that attack.
It was very powerful.
The boy was carted off to the healers and Weigela returned back to her seat beaming. The first person to grab her was Vicar who had already been healed.
" How did you do that?" he asked, his eyes were wide in shock. He knew about Weigela's injury. He knew about how countless healers told her she should would only hurt herself if she continued to use her power.
Weigela shook off his hand, " A miracle" she then lurched her body to Izzy and engulfed her into a hug. Vicar stared at them, he never knew that their relationship was that close but he was stunned.
Weigela had been healed but the question gnawing at his heart was, how? How did she manage it? What miracle?
He went back to his seat mulling over these thoughts. Weigela had been strange since the day began, it was almost as if a fire had been ignited in her.
A fire that had long disappeared.
" Did you see! Did you see me!" She pestered Izzy pulling her close and Izzy was too weak to get out of her grip so she just sat there. While Weigela clung to her.
She then looked around and saw some of the male students staring at her. Their eyes were locked onto Izzy and Weigela. It made Izzy feel uncomfortable. She felt goosebumps form all over her body.
Why are they staring.? Ahhh I can't breathe… Stop Staring!
" Uhh, Weigela can you-"
" Call me Wei", Weigela rubbed her face against Izzy who pouted like an abused child.
