Chapter 4: Stepping in
Class ended quicker than he thought.
"Riko! Wanna go out somewhere?" Aoi, the popular guy in class asked her. He smirked and brushed his hair with his fingers, closing the gap between his face and Riko's. Shuu frowned in annoyance, hesitating before deciding to step in.
"Go away. Narcissistic idiot."
Riko's words halted his steps, as well as dumbfounding Aoi. He stuttered out a "What?" and backed away. His face contorted in anger and spat out "Please, as if anyone would want a girl like you!"
The class sniggered, a few girls rolling their eyes and said" Who does she think she is...turning down our school prince. She's the idiot here"
"H..hey!" Shuu angrily shouted at Aoi. "She's dating me now! That's why she turned you down!"
The whole class halted to a silence before a voice broke out" When? You just met, how in the world-"
"I already knew her long time ago. So she's mine!"
(School ended)
*slap*
"Where did this dating thing come from?" Riko demanded.
After school ended, Riko pulled Shuu to a private place.
"Hey! What was that for? I was helping you, yanno?"
"Whatever. I don't need your help. Leave me alone." At this, she turned her heel and walked away. "W-wait!!" Shuu grabbed her hand and Riko flipped around, startled. Her face was red and it was clear she was blushing furiously.
"Wha-..."
"We have to date! We already told everybody we were dating!"
"N-no, What the hell?"
"Pretend. For a while, till this whole thing dies down. Okay?"
Riko opened her mouth to protest, but stopped and her face went back to the cold state, and said "Whatever."
As she turned her back on Shuu, her mind was filled with embarrassment and quickly shook away the thoughts. "No, I must not let this get to me."
"Just wait, Riko. I will make you remember me!"
