Chapter 4: Snacks turn to Shocks
Cris happily entered her office and he greeted her, "Good afternoon Ms. Cindy!"
When she heard his joyful voice she stopped on what her doing and greeted him back, "Same to you Cris. Please, be seated."
She offered a chair and he gladly obeyed. He put down the bag and brought out the food containers and opened it up. Cindy was so delighted of what she's seeing right now. Her mouth also follow her desire on the food that was presented in the table. She was drooling.
"Ms. Cindy here's your spoon." She got the spoon and started to dig in to the foods. Cris was also so excited on what her reaction will be.
She savored every delicious taste that exploding in her mouth. 'Jesus! This is so yummy' she thought.
Cris saw the changes in her face while eating the foods and he can help himself but to smile. He succeeded on his mission to pleased her.
Her mom said that a way to a woman's heart is through her stomach and he followed it. "Please, have some more" he said.
"Your mom is so great. She is a good cook. I hope I can have this everyday" she can't help but said what's on her mind.
'Stupid Cindy, Urgh! Maybe this food had truth serum? Duhh, as if truth serum is real!' she's mumbling in herself.
"Really, my mom would be so happy if she heard that directly and don't worry I will past your compliment to her and I will be happy to bring you delicious food everyday" he responded positively.
"Oh, no don' t do that. Don't obligate to do that. It's just my childish mumbling" she tried her best to refused him nicely.
"I'm not obligated, I'm willing to do this Ms. Cindy and I don't care if it is childish" he answered with a sweet smile.
'Damned those charismatic smile' she cussed inside.
"Ahmmm, are you sure about this? You're a busy perso, right? You work and study at the same time it is kind of burden to you if you do this" she tried to convinced him.
"It's fine, my work is not hard. It's just that I just want to do this for my own happiness and satisfaction Ms. Cindy. You know, my late Dad said that if you got someone you like don't be a coward just go for it and try everything you can to hold into that someone and I'm just following his advice now" he answered seriously.
Cindy was confused at the moment but she saw clearly in his eyes that he was not joking around with his words. His was dead serious.
"What do you mean by that?" she asked.
"I fell for you Ms. Cindy" he confessed and that definitely shocked her.
"I'd admire you for a long time especially when I first saw you in the uni's orientation. You've talked so dignified that it mesmerized me but we didn't meet up until then. I would just watched you from a far and continue to admire you but fate lead me into meeting you and I was so happy and this will be my opportunity to prove my existence to you" he explained.
Cindy was so speechless at his heartfelt confession. To be honest, she don't know how to respond.
He continued, "I know that I'm being crazy and delusional for telling this to you. I'm definitely a nobody. I'm very poor student and you are a beautiful princess with a perfect future waiting for you. But I don't want to be a loser for not saying what I truly feel. You don't have to answer we this time Ms. Cindy but let me court you in my own ways, please!"
She was totally caught off guard. She doesn't know what to do or what to say. Her smart ass brain was not functioning at the moment but her ass heart was beating like their was a festival going on.
She was not new to confession because their were some guys who've got guts to talked to her but she can truly distinguish their intentions at one glance. But Cris' confession was very different. It was so sincerely said and she couldn't question that.
'What the hell is going on!' she's in dilemma.
Cris was sweating so bad after his confession. He don't know who possessed him to have a huge courage to confessed and the nervousness was getting in his nerves. He admitted that he was so fast but his heart was going all out now.
"Cris, I-I was shocked beyond comparison to be honest. I liked you as a friend but I don't really know if this feeling can go beyond that but I agree of you courting me. It will never be bad if we start to know each other right? Just to sort out our feelings" she told him her decision.
He was truly happy of what he heard his suicidal attempt was a successful. He gently grabbed her both hands and said, "Don't worry Ms. Cindy I will do everything to let you fall in love with me you will never regret this."
She was again caught of guard by the sudden contacted and it got sting that triggers her heart to over function. He gently let go of her hands whe he saw the awkwardness in her face. 'Maybe, I stepped over the line! Stupid, don' t be hasty on your action' he scolded his self.
The moment he let go of his hand she felt cold and empty. She like how gentle and warm his hands. Cindy felt disappointed.
"Sorry about that" he apologized.
"Ohhh, no worries. This foods is really tasty" she dodged and resumed her eating fantasy. He sighed in relief because she was not mad at his action. 'Behave yourself Crisostomo' he keeps on reminding his self.
When they done eating, he cleaned up the containers and got it back inside the bag. Then he bids his goodbye with a beautiful gleaming smile before going out the office.
When she was left alone she lumped on her table because of her excessived emotions that she can't hide anymore. This feelings was all a first time to her. She didn't got involved in a guy before. Some did tried to approached her but she knew what were their goal and she rejected them flatly. They just wanted her family's power and not her as a person.
But why did she let Cris in???
'I don't fucking know the answer!' she told her self.
