Chapter 28: Secret of Mom
By the time, Aarush standing behind the cabin's door tries to hear his mom's voice for satisfaction and also he misses her now, but will never treat her as his mom because he still thinks she ditched his father and went to UK with another man.
(At the beginning of the third month)
The paper work was ready and Aarush send them to doctor via email and said to forward it to Mrs. Niharika. Doctor sends them immediately to his mom and said to let the process done there. Also, she mailed the list of medicines we required here, some are costly and some can be issued legally. Mrs. Niharika said that she'll handle them over there. After mailing, doctor called Aarush to her cabin to talk about his mom.
Just five to ten minutes, Aarush enters. He was told to sit in the couch and doctor followed him. Dr. Avantika said, "The process in the UK will be handled by your mom, she said she'll doing with care." and he replied in short rude tone, "She's not my mom, maybe your best friend" and she was shocked about best friend topic. "Yes, and sorry doctor, I heard you and she talking in a video call" he continued looking at her face. Dr. Avantika said, "But, why are you so angry with her? What does happen in your past? What does she did...?" and he interrupted with another rude voice, "She did very badly to my dad .... She cheated him.... she ditched him... She left him....." and they continued in this topic.
"How could you say that to her...? How do you know about it??"
"C'mon, now why we are wasting our time here?"
"Because looking at her, I haven't found such things.... also if this is the case, why would she even try to help us or you .... Tell me?"
"May be just to gain sympathy...!"
"Maybe you are thinking wrong my dear Aarush... you haven't known your mom more than I do"
"This is enough for me to know her now...!"
"Okay tell me when did she left for UK.... month, year or date or any incident...?"
"I was young at that time, what I remember is she told my dad that she is going to meet friend in UK who is ill and doctor said that he will die soon.... so she went there to meet him for 1 month ... dad used to say me this...."
"Whaaattt.... are you serious..... Is this what your dad told to you?"
"Yeah it's exactly the same ...how could I forget that...."
"Then, how come you end her story being cheating ..?"
"After two months or more, we found that her phone was switched off and later my dad saw his friends social media page ....where she was hanging out with guys and partying everyday.... later when he asked to his friend... he said that ... that lady means my mom ... is single and not married yet... how could she even thought of it ....!!! And since then dad used to get sick often ..."
"Oh Aarush, I never knew that this story will turned out to be like this ever, so at that age we were just enjoying and the story is not true if you heard this .... I know her and I too went to UK at those days with them, I know the truth part of all this..... Oh god!! Why don't you even tell me that Mrs. Niharika is your mom and then I would have sort out this much before the things seem to be now...."
"What are you saying doctor, it seems too complicated in my mind ... I really want to know what the truth .....Is!!!?? Please doctor speaks up...!"
"Actually, Aarush, the thing is your mom told your dad truth about a friend in his last stage... his name is Swastik who died on those days so he called all his school buddies for one last club party and one last time to play a game truth and dare... I was also invited and I landed lately, we were not that close friends but because of Niharika we become good friends.... we all joined in the hospital to meet him up.... and then we come to know that he hardly had two months since the day we were together, so we re-planned his birthday party which went just few days back so as to make him happy..... Swastik was kind and very funny man.... he was still the same at that time. ... on that day we all meet a doctor, two three engineers, one philosopher, few of them were lecturers and rest worked in IT or Government companies ... your mom was a best philosopher and counselor, she treats us the same she used to do with us on back school days .... She was very happy about her being married to your father.... she too told me about you.... Yes you were young at that time.... first one month, we just chilled every day and night in the hospital and used to party with every patient there and later even doctors and nurses joined too. Everything was like a happy dream world for him, and then doctors personally said that, he had 20 to 25 days left from today.... and then slowly his organs will not support him, on that day he said, "I wanna live this life as we used to like when we had our school farewell party everywhere in every places of the city ..." so we listed every clubs nearby and we used visit every night. But at last, we went to the famous and rushed club of the city, but there was one condition that, we should not be married but couples were invited. And, among group only Niharika was married so she was left out there, this was the same condition when we went a club back those days, that only couples should enter, and your mom was single so she used to wait for a guy to come single and she would trap her to get entry. She does this many times, so for a prove she used to click lots of random pictures and then post it on social media sites so that she can show it in the entrance... and on that night too she does the same... she waited a lot and then found a college friend of hers then she started clicking those pictures and got an entry. Clever, isn't!!! But, don't then she became friends with all those boys in her partner's group also they posted on social sites too and one hour after 1 at night, Swastik fainted. We all rushed to hospital and doctor told that he is critical now and doesn't have much time. We used to stay besides him every second. And, on the second day, he died.... (paused and emotional) .... and we had a funeral after two days because his relatives were about to come..."
"Then why doesn't mom told this to dad? Why she hasn't called him after that?" he breaks his silence.
"We all were upset and Swastik was close to your mom .... so she was the most upsetting at that moment....so might be she forgot to call... and then many of us were leaving the place and were ready to accept the world they come from. At last only she and I were staying for few more weeks. On the end of the third month she told me to give a phone to her husband as her is dead and can't be repaired anymore as her phone was outdated. She asked me if I had her husband's new number in case, but I wasn't. So she remembered her landline number and she used to dialed every day and night, but no one responded her call don't know why. She used to stay upset. And then, she decided to mail your father about what happened and why she is late. But, after two-three days, we received a reply from your father and then she became unhappy. It was late enough; your dad was already assumed everything which was not even happening this way. His misunderstanding and that posts on social sites gave more glance to what he thought.... When Niharika return to India, she found that, her husband is no more he died because of heart attack, and found hatred in her son's face. We haven't met on the funeral; otherwise this would have clarified on that day itself. She told me on the one year of Swastik's death. When we all met on his condolence in UK, where found that her husband is dead and she decided to stay in abroad. And that's it ....this is what the situation is ... I never knew that she is your mom ....otherwise I would have told you about it... also we haven't talked much after that meet. She is innocent Aarush... you hatred her for her kindness and love for you and your father. Your parents had love marriage how could she even think of cheating your dad, she was loyal and trustworthy dear ... and now, till this date, she lives alone in UK, haven't married again or date someone else."
Aarush ended up with tears. He left without saying to sit with me.
