Olivia had been stubborn to accept her inheritance from the late Don Maximus and she became negligent of the responsibilities her father had passed on her especially their business on the export of Pineapple and Strawberry products. And so, her cousin Theodore became the administrator of their business as soon as she left their home and her responsibilities as the heir of Don Maximus without a trace of her whereabouts.
She called her friend Martina and told her about her plans as soon as she was on board leaving for Canada. It was her long plan ever since her life became miserable with her arranged marriage when she was eighteen. She planned to go back to Canada and continue her passion on arts and at the same time her studies to earn a degree and not just rely on the business empire that she inherited from her father. After all, she never had a passion to it nor any idea on how to run it and all she could possible face are her ingrate relatives who would do all things just to get a hold of their business.
She was on board the plane and finished fixing her seatbelt and trying to start a nap when she heard the stewardess voice, "Calling for passenger Augustus Mallari, please proceed to Gate 3 for an urgent situation that needs your attention, again, calling for passenger Augustus Mallari, please proceed to Gate 3 for an urgent situation that needs your attention. Thank you."
It was just about fifteen minutes after she sat comfortably in her seat when she heard it and she could feel her heart race. She unfastened her seatbelt and stood and looked around her if she could see the familiar face she has been longing to see again. As she was about to go back to her seat, a man stood behind her and walked fast and passed her. It was the familiar face but he didn't recognize her even if it he look at her in a split second.
She was about to say his name, "Aug....", when she heard the sterwardess voice once again.
"Last call for passenger Augustus Mallari, please proceed to gate 3, again, last call for passenger Augustus Mallari, please proceed to Gate 3 for an urgent situation that needs your attention."
The man was in a hurry that while Olivia saw him went out from the planes door, all she could feel was warm tears flowing from her face after having a glimpse of him.
She really wanted to call his name but she felt choked even by trying so hard to do it. She suddenly remembered her mothers words that pained her heart much more. She was forbidden to meet him even once in her lifetime for her fathers sake.
Trembling in pain and longing, she cried silently as she wanted to exhaust herself so she could just sleep it off and forget all the negative thoughts playing in her mind.
After fourteen and thirty minutes, Olivia arrived at the Toronto Pearson International airport in Ontario, Canada. She was relieve with her safe trip and the thought to start a new beginning excutws her knowing that she will be living in Canada from now on.
As she was walking towards the baggage area, she saw a man getting her luggage and without hesitation she stopped him.
"Hey! Hey, there mister!
Excuse me! Excuse me! Wait mister!" she was grasping air when she touched the mans hand holding her luggage.
"I think you're mistaken. This is my luggage," Olivia told the man, "I think that yours is still there, pointing to where luggages starts to appear.
"No miss, this is mine." the man said.
"No you're wrong, this is mine. My Lily flower keychain is right here," Olivia took out the flower lily keychain from the pocket of her luggage.
"Oh, my mistake. I'm sorry miss. I really thought it was mine." explained the man.
"Oh, mine just came out. I'm really sorry."
"It's alright. it happens sometimes and i understand. Thank you anyway." Olivia said as she turned away.
As Olivia walked out from the departure area, her phone rang and ahe it from her hand bag and answered it."
"Hello?....oh! Martina, it's you...yes, i just arrived....really?...well, that would be great...see you then." And she came to the escalator going down the ground floor.
