Lila had everything planned out for when the Commander shows up.
Today is the last day of the week deadline for the engines, Lila just needed to show that Kara doesn't know one thing about the engine, and all her lies will spill out.
Checking to make sure the false emergency system she set up was ready, Lila sat and waited for Kara and the Commander to show up.
It was ten minutes till the appointed time for the Commander to show, but Lila still didn't see Kara, she hadn't seen Kara since yesterday afternoon. However, Lila didn't fret Kara will have to show once the alarms go off.
"Sir, watch your step." Secretary Jun guided the Commander into the last engine room for the day. Seeing the rest of the fleet's engines up and running, made Thomas happy for the first time in weeks.
"Is this last core fixed?... Can we separate the ships again?" Thomas knew the answer to his questions, but he still wanted verbal confirmation.
"Yes, Commander all cores are fully operational, and the ships can separate." Lila stood straight as a rod as she replied to the Commander's questions.
"Good..." Thomas looked at Lila giving his nod of approval for her to commence her plan.
Giddy to get her life back, Lila reached over the control panel and pressed a button. This will reverse the air flow into the energy core. If Kara has any idea on what to do she'll know to release the tension in the center and redirect the air flow. It's a simple matter, but if left for too long it will result in a lot of damage.
Lila knew this, and that's why she asked for the Commander's approval first.
With the alarms going off the crew members and soldiers started to flood the room.
Frazzled by the alarms system going off, the crew immediately asked for Kara, yet minutes passed and still, Kara had shown up.
The Commander looked to the soldier who was present and told them to locate her.
The soldiers disbursed to find Kara, while the crew had no desire to fix Kara's problems for her, they still went around acting as if they could help.
"Ahhh!" A scream was heard from the back of the room.
Feet were moving as everyone in the room rushed to where they heard the noise. Seeing a young female crew member crouch down on the floor everyone thought she was hurt.
"Are you okay?... Stand up, let's have a medic look at you." Secretary Jun worked his way to the front of the crowd and sought to assist the young woman from the floor.
But before he could touch her, the woman stood up and pointed at a spot in front of her, "...there is a body on the floor covered in blood."
At first, no one could comprehend what the young woman was sying until she said it for the second time, "...there is a body on the floor covered in blood right over there."
This time everyone jumped into action. Moving the young woman out of the way, they indeed saw a body on the ground. Pulling the person out from the dark corner, on closer inspection they saw it was Kara. The very person they were all looking for.
"What happened to her?"
"How did she end up in this state?"
Many people voiced out loud what others were thinking.
With Kara found in this state, the Commander called an end to Lila's plan. Giving her a signal to return, Lila rushed back to the control panel to release the pressure, but before she could Pace started the process himself under everyone's watch.
Completely surprised by this person's actions, Lila still wanted to make sure he was doing things correctly.
"Let me help you." When Lila reached the pressure valve, her hand was slapped away.
"You don't touch anything....Where is Kare? What did you do to her? Some quick don't let this person leave!" Pace's voice caused everyone to look over in confusion.
"Pace...What are you doing?" Secretary Jun asked as he left Kara to the medics.
Pace looked at Secretary Jun then stretched his sight farther away behind his body to see Kara's prone body on the floor.
"Oh my!... You really did it! What is wrong with you? Are you that greedy? Did you have it kill her? Someone help Kara!" Pace's angry rant was directed at Lila.
The Commander had enough of the whole fiasco.
"Enough! Everyone shut up! First, someone cut off the damn alarms and fix the core."
By someone, Lila knew he meant her, however, Pace took it upon himself the receive the order. Releasing the pressure valve and redirecting the air flow, allowed the alarms to shut off.
Quietness returned to the room, the Commander looked at Pace then turned to the medics.
"Is she alright?"
"She got critical head trauma, plus she bled out a lot if we get her to sickbay we should know more, sir." the medic responded.
"Take her then, and I want updates." The medic nodded his head.
With the assistance of some crew members and soldiers, they carried Kara away on a stretcher.
"Now you two will be escorted to the conference room where you both will explain what is happening." Thomas had the rest of the soldiers take Lila and Pace out of the room.
Lila was just as confused by the whole situation as the Commander was, what exactly does he want her to explain?
_____
Kara had woken up before they reached sickbay, but knowing their plan was not yet over, she continued to be ''unconscious''.
In the sickbay, the medic laid Kara on the bed and gave her a full body check. Confirming Kara's head trauma and loss of blood.
Turning to a soldier, the medic officer told him of his diagnosis.
"I have stabilized her, and she is receiving a blood transfusion. She will need to stay here for observation, as I don't know how this has affected her brain until she wakes up. That's all I have for the Commander right now..." Nodding the soldier left to inform the Commander.
