Chapter 110: Ignoring the Problem

After their short conversation Yun knew that this beast was fairly grumpy about it's fate, and also that she had close to no chance of convincing it that she had nothing to do with the whole incident. She kept looking for how to leave this space, but eventually she realized that she really was consciously standing on her own Neidan, which was a little absurd, and that meant there was no door or path out. This was a small world made of condensed energy, not a room in a building.

Sitting down to rest, Yun crossed her legs and relaxed into meditation. Within her mind she contemplated what she could do about this situation and what this beast's presence meant for her future cultivation. Would he behave like a parasite, absorbing a portion of her cultivation energy, or would he just be a passenger, gaining benefits from the rich inner world without causing trouble? Yun was fairly uncertain, but she had more things to worry about as well.

Currently her body was resting in a tree somewhere in these unfamiliar woods. In addition to that, she was so unconscious that she wasn't even sure if someone had already tried to rouse her.

After what felt like hours upon hours of meditation Yun opened her eyes to a green space. The light filtering into her eyes was bright, but not blinding. As she opened her eyes and saw this strange green space she rubbed her eyes, trying to get them working correctly again.

Before her was a bright — yet overcast — sky, tinted green by the mass of foliage between her and the light. Excruciatingly slowly her mind adjusted to the fact she was now on her back and not in a sitting position as before. She gingerly sat up, feeling a large crick in her back from where she had been resting against the tree trunk, she stretched and twisted to relieve the pain. After thinking for a short time she decided to take advantage of the rest she had already taken and begin traveling again.

Collecting the few items she had taken out to rest in the tree, Yun climbed down swiftly and began to run north yet again. After the setbacks of dealing with the new tenant in her Neidan she figured she had at least four days left of travel, though it would likely be a bit more dangerous as a lone traveler than it would have been if Wuying was still with her. Nevertheless she ran.

As she traveled, Yun encountered many various vicious creatures that wanted to consume her as a natural treasure to their cultivations, but she helped them believe that she wasn't anything worth eating when she conflicted with these wild beasts.

After traveling for nearly two days Yun noticed a strange pattern. After the incident with the Goldenflame Lynmurku she had yet to see a single other Lynmurku, despite having excellent eyesight. This was rather peculiar, as she had already passed by a number of territory marks left behind by their packs. She began to grow suspicious on her third day that her strange runic symbol and it's corresponding caged beast were acting as some sort of deterrent.

Yun occasionally felt strange things happening in her Neidan, but simultaneously she intently ignored them to continue her journey. If that little beast wanted to cause trouble or distract her she would just intentionally ignore it's attempts. Considering it was stuck in her Neidan space, there was the potential for it to figure out some way to cause damage to it. She was unwilling to suffer such a setback, but she currently couldn't control that situation seemingly at once.
