Let me know if I should make a discord or a twitter or something like that. Anime discussions daily. lol. I had some inspiration so Esketit.

"The Hokage has called you back." Itachi held with a sad face. He enjoyed Kenji's company. Someone he could confide in.
"Right now?" Kenji missed everyone, but the work he was doing here was good.
For the past two years, along with his training, Kenji joined Itachi in his crusade. Infiltration of the akatsuki and relaying information to the Leaf.
"You remember what Pain discussed yesterday?"
Kenji adjusted his black and red clouded robe. "Hmm. Yeah. We still don't know what the objective is. It's probably best not to push it too much also."
"Exactly. The Hokage actually asked both of us back."
Kenji smiled and faced Itachi. He stopped himself from words. Thinking, wow, that's great. He can reunite with Sasuke. The Village could realize his dedication. But Itachi seemed to dread the return. He assumed it would be a one way mission.
"You got this." Kenji assured him. Itachi took a deep breath. He was satisfied with Kenji's training. He could definitely lead the clan beside Sasuke, but he knew his skills would also be needed.
"Alright, It will take a few days to get there, so I'll inform the Akatsuki that we'll be headed there already. It won't happen for another two weeks. We should have enough time for preparation."
Kenji and Itachi walked along the trees toward their home. Home sweet home. Neither had seen it in a while.
-------------------
"Sasuke!"
The Uchiha boy saw Rei jumping through the street towards him. Completely oblivious to the stares glued on her. She definitely had no shame. She approached her teammate like she had just ran a marathon.
"My dad. He said Kenji should be home in a few days."
"Really???"
"Yeah!"
Sasuke was genuinely excited, but his attention was else where. Sasuke noticed that all the jonin were restless today. A few ghosted right past them in a hurry.
Sasuke asked, "Did he say anything else? It seems like somethings going to happen."
Rei frowned. "Yeah. Apparently, the akatsuki are planning to attack with the Mist, according to Kenji and Mei, the one we captured a few years ago. He wants to fortify the village in the meantime. Then evacuate the villagers. It would be easier to fight on our turf."
Sasuke agreed. "How is Mei doing lately?"
"She's getting accustomed. After Sensei blew that chakra from her forehead, she returned to normal. My dad thinks it's like a seal that controls you. Even he's never seen anything like that before."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Rei adjusted her headband, Her red mane fluttered around. Sasuke wouldn't lie, she had become extremely beautiful these past few years. He couldn't wait to see Kenji's reaction.
"Let's go help prepare. It'll help the time pass." She smiled.
"Alright. Where's sensei?"
"I'm not sure."
----------------
Across the village....
Kakashi strutted along the street, glancing at the variety of shops and restaurants.... with Aya.
"Where should we eat?" Kakashi lowered his book.
"Shouldn't we be helping to prepare?" Aya was restless. Kakashi understood.
"You think he won't approve?" Kakashi saddened.
Aya stared at him. He took a breath. "It's been four years. He's no doubt changed."
Kakashi grabbed her shoulders. "It'll be fine. And If it isn't, I'll just kick his butt." Kakashi eye smiled.
Aya chuckled a little.
They didn't notice, but Rei and Sasuke were standing right next to them. Confused. Silence.
"Ohhhh. I didn't see you two there." Kakashi got nervous. "ha...ha.."
Rei plotted. She stretched her face into a face malice. "Sensei.....What are you doing??? Hmmm???"
"Uh. We're just going to eat. You know. Taking a break from the preparation. Can't be a ninja on an empty stomach. He....hehe."
His students weren't amused.
"I know. Why don't you join us? Ok. Let's go!" Kakashi sped away.
Sasuke just stood there, hands in pockets. Rei and Aya both smiled at each other with understanding. Kenji was going to be very confused.
-------------------------------
A few days later...
Itachi and Kenji ditched their akatsuki ropes. Hopefully they would never need them again. This was a turning point in the brewing war, and especially in Itachi's life. He'd been on the run, looking over his shoulder, not knowing who to trust for so long.
"Ready?"
Itachi took a breath. "Yeah."
The two ninja made it down the dirt road, finally, the gate came into view. But it was on fire. Emerging from the cover of trees, plumes of smoke were sky high.
"What.." Kenji fell into that mindset. Itachi taught him to bring it out whenever he wanted. That bloodlust. The wraith mindset that took many lives during their time together. The mindset and persona that shook the ninja world with fear the past few years.
"Kenji! No talk! Go find your friends and get the situation. I'll find the Hokage!"
Kenji didn't say anything. When Itachi looked back, he was gone. Jiraiya had taught him well.
-----------
Rei's face was bloody. She didn't know where her friends were. Her father. Scattered ninja laid at her feet. Dead. Several children and families crouched behind her. She was the only one standing. Across from her stood six orange haired individuals.
"Do you know pain yet?" A deep voice reached her ear.
Rei thought. Should I use it? Right now? I still can't control it. I don't want to hurt the villagers.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
Rei turned to her opponent. A massive creature appeared through the smoke. On instinct, she manifested a spiraling ball of chakra.
"Massive rasengan!" She tore into the flesh of the creature. In the corner of her eye, two pains approached. She couldn't do anything. Two rods pierced her shoulders and pinned her to the ground. Rei cried in pain. Two more struck her feet, leaving her helpless.
Deep in her soul, Rei heard a familiar voice. One she'd heard many times over the past few years.
"Rei. Use my power. If you do, you can beat them. All you have to do is ask."
Rei's eyes turned red slits. Her sharp teeth grinded against each other. She tried during training, but she still couldn't control the Nine tales.
Pain took notice and smiled. "Hmm. Looks like I found you."
------------------------
On top of the Hokage Monument...
Hidan and Kakuzu, despite their immortalness, were laying at the feet of Minato.
"Why are you doing this!? What's your goal?" Minato stood against an orange masked akatsuki standing beside the Mizukage, Yagura.
"There's no need sensei."
Minato froze. "Sens-"
In his daze, both Yagura and Obito struck Minato to the ground. He was out of chakra. Obito didn't give him room for anything. He was even unable to set his markings. This battle was one sided. Obito knew everything about Minato, and the Hokage was at a complete disadvantage. The scale of those two were a bad match for Minato. And it showed.
"Let's put him with the rest." Yagura said.
Obito felt a chill. He turned around. "I see you saw through us."
"Itachi. How nice of you to make an appearance. Where's your baby cousin?"
Itachi readied for battle. "That's none of your concern."
"Amaterasu!"
------------------
"AHHHHHHH!!!"
Pain twisted the metal bar into Rei's shoulder. She desperately suppressed the anger and the Nine tales in the effort to protect her village. There's no telling what she'd do under that influence. She couldn't risk it.
At the end of her rope, she heard a whistle across the battlefield. Black flames caught the bodies of two pains. The ones torturing Rei. They retreated to their other selves. An almighty push was all it took for the flames to fall to the ground.
A one-of-a-kind kunai struck the ground beside Rei. It was her fathers! Her anger subsided a little but she still struggled. To her surprise, she witnessed an array of scars carved into a lean back teleport to her side.
Pain's face didn't change, staring into the abyss of white across from him. Even though he could feel the murder radiating from them.
Rei met his gaze when he turned around. Kenji's clothes were singed and blown off. Rei didn't know what she felt, but when she saw his eyes, they turned from bloody murder to softness. "Sorry I'm late." Kenji sounded like a different person. Rei was speechless.
Kenji shifted back to Pain. When he did, those eyes turned back to a monster. His tone lowered. "Deidara was troublesome, but not anymore." His eyes continued to scream death. "I've been waiting for this moment Pain. I've always hated you."
"The same to you Kenji." Pain looked serious. He somewhat knew Kenji's caliber, but Kenji never showed all his cards. That's just how he was, especially in the Akatsuki.
"I've always been curious." Pain continued. "Just how good IS the Wraith of Konoha."
"Oh. I'm sure you'll find out."
Kenji made a seal. Fog seeped into the middle of the battlefield. This was Kenji's domain. He picked up his kunai and breathed. "Rei!"
"Uh... yes?" She didn't know how to speak right now.
"Give me five minutes." Kenji coldly stated. He disappeared into thin air.

Alright I was a little flustered today so I hope this chapter is still ok. Threw some good stuff in there. I've been planning this Kakashi and Aya thing since the very beginning. lolololol. You probably thought Aya was old right? I'll explain later. If you still don't know, Kenji was taught the Flying thunder God. I'll explain later. If you're pissed that Minato got got like that, just wait. He'll get some shine. I just want Itachi to get some shine for... reasons. And don't worry. The Akatsuki and Mist aren't the only ones out there. Well I'll explain everything later. Just enjoy the future battles. This chapters a little short but I want to think out the next few chapters for a little while since I want this to last a little while. I say this a lot, but it's about to go down. YERRR!
This my first story bud. Give me break dood.
