Chapter 64: The wedding of Cuan and Kyona

Kyona stood nervous in front of a large glass doors that led to the large garden. Her hair was braided to the back and fastened with pins. She had two braids at the front. These two braids could only be undone by Cuan during their wedding night.

She was wearing a red silk wedding dress. The dress revealed the collarbone to emphasize feminine beauty and boasted splendor with a generous skirt. Gold patterns were delicately woven through the fabric.

When the glass doors opened, Kyona saw that all the guests were already sitted in their places. White chairs were placed on the left and right sides of the garden where guests could sit.

In the middle a white carpet was placed from about five meters to a white altar. White lilies were placed next to the white carpet and altar.

A white round table with two silver chains and ten wolf teeth was placed in front of the altar

Kyona looked ahead and grabbed her bouquet tight. She saw Cuan standing on the altar. He looked lovingly at her, which somewhat reassured her. He was wearing a red silk suit with Gold patterns delicately woven through the fabric.

Behind him stood Cong, the dragon of Kyona and Gan, the wolf of Cuan. It struck her that Cong was standing behind Cuan and Gan behind the place where kyona would stand.

She took a deep breath and walked up the white carpet. The moment she started walking you could hear a violin and harp playing in harmony. It was a beautiful sound and Kyona looked like an angel walking on the white carpet. Everyone admired her dress and beauty.

When she was standing in front of the altar, Cuan extended his hand to her. Kyona took his hand and stood beside him. When she was standing next to him, a priest in a white robe came to stand between the altar and round table.

"Dear present I am the priest who will solemnize the Wedding of the crown prince of the wolf tribe and the second princess of the dragon tribe today. On behalf of the bridal couple, I want to thank you for your presence. The wedding ceremony will now begin "

When the priest was finished, Cuan and Kyona sat down on their knees with their faces toward the round table

The priest raised his arms.

"In the wolves tribe we believe that there are five important conditions for a successful marriage. Every wolf tooth on this table represented an important condition of a successful marriage. Five different people who are close to the wedding couple will thread a tooth on the chains on the table. When that is done, the bridal couple will accept the wishes of the people and put on the chains together to solemnize their marriage. "

The Priest took a step to the side. When he did, Cuan's mother got up and walked to the table, she threaded a wolf tooth on the chain of Kyona. She held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple.

"The first tooth represents Love, Love for now, for later, for tomorrow, love for taking care of each other. Love to take, to give, love to all days of life. That is my wish for you "

When Aimi had put down the necklace, Kaida got up and walked to the table, she threaded a wolf tooth on Cuan's chain. She held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple.

"The first tooth represents love, Love is endless, pure and genuine. Love is warmth, love is real. Love is finding comfort, close together. My wish for you is that you will experience such a love "

When Kaida put down the necklace, Cuan's father stood up and walked to the round table. He threaded a wolf tooth on the chain of Kyona. He held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple.

"The second tooth represent respect. Mutual respect and mutual listening are the foundations of harmony within a family. My wish for you is that you will find this harmony within your marriage "

When Chao had put down the necklace, the father of kyona stood up. He walked over to the table and threaded a wolf tooth on Cuan's chain. He held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple.

"The second tooth represents respect. Respect for ourselves guides our morals; respect for others guides our manner. My wish for you is that you always follow your morals and manners and respect each other. "When Zuko had put down the necklace, Chanying got up and walked over to the table and threaded a wolf tooth on the chain of Kyona. She held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple.

"The third tooth represents trust. Optimism is trust that leads to achievement, without hope and trust nothing can come about. My wish for you is that you never lose trust in each other "

When Chanying had put down the necklace, Kenta got up and walked over to the table and threaded a wolf tooth on Cuan's chain. He held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple

"The third tooth represents trust. What connects spouses is a tender bond and it is called trust. My wish for you is that you reach and cherish this bond."

When Kenta had put down the necklace, Salmus got up and walked over to the table and threaded a wolf tooth on the chain of Kyona. He held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple

"The fourth tooth represents prosperity. Prosperity is the touchstone of the character; for in adversity one can show perseverance, but prosperity makes one spoil. My wish for you is that you do not take the times of prosperity for granted and will continue to support each other in times of adversity "

When Salmus had put down the necklace, Shuang got up and walked over to the table and threaded a wolf tooth on Cuan's chain. She held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple

"The fourth tooth represents prosperity. Prosperity is not without much fear and sadness, and adversity is not without comfort and hope. My wish for you is that in times of prosperity you face your sadness, happiness and fear together and in times of adversity comfort each other and wont lose hope."

When Shuang had put down the necklace, Huli got up and walked over to the table and threaded a wolf tooth on Kyona's chain. He held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple.

"The fifth tooth represents Happiness. There is only one happiness on earth: to love someone and to see that love answered. This is my wish for you "

When Huli had put down the necklace, Kayra got up and walked over to the table and threaded a wolf tooth on Cuan's chain. She held up the necklace and faced it to the bridal couple.

"The fifth tooth represents happiness. Most people pursue happiness and are so possessed by it that they ignore it. My wish for you is that you are grateful for your happiness and cherish the happiness that you will experience "

When Kayra was done, she put the necklace down and sat down again. The Priest took a red pillow and walked over to the table and carefully placed the two chains on the pillow. When he was done he walked to Kyona and Cuan. He placed the pillow in the middle of them.

He took the necklace of Kyona from the pillow and Kneeled, presenting the necklace in front of her in his two hands.

"Second princess of the dragon tribe, daughter of Katsumi and Zuko of the dragon tribe. You have listened to the wishes, do you accept them and do you agree to spend the rest of your life together with the person next to you."

Kyona looked at her necklace with watery eyes and said

"yes I do"

The moment she answered, Cuan took the necklace from the priest and put it around her neck.

The Priest now took Cuan's necklace from the pillow. He knelt down again, presenting the necklace in front of him in his two hands.

"Crown prince of the wolves tribe, daughter of Aimi and Chao of the wolves tribe. You have listened to the wishes, do you accept them and do you agree to spend the rest of your life together with the person next to you. "

Cuan looked lovingly at Kyona and said

"yes I do"

Kyona took the necklace from the priest and put it around his neck.

The priest signaled that they could rise. When they got up they turned their backs to the guests and looked at Cong and Gan. The guests had now risen too and were cheering and clapping loudly.

The priest raised his hands again

"In sign of their union, the bridal couple will now make a journey on the animal of their spouse during the first half hour of their marriage. With the departure of their journey I declare their marriage to have solemnize. May the gods bless their marriage "

Kyona climbed on the back of Gan and Cuan on the back of Cong, they looked lovingly at each other and left.

Behind them they heard the guests say in unison

"May the gods bless their marriage"
