Chapter 21: reinforcement is on the way
Kyro, Koto, Kaën, Kayra and Rei were waiting for Kaida at the gate. Where did she go? The two and a half hours was not over yet, but usually Kaida was the first to reach the agreed place. And now she will be the last to arrive?
They heard that someone was coming in the distance. When they looked up they saw three people coming towards them on horseback. When they got closer they saw that it was Huli, Kaida and the first general of the fox army.
Kaida was the first to stop
"I apologize for being so late"
Rei and Kayra looked at each other and began to laugh mysteriously. Kayra stepped forward
"no problem niece! It is that my husband has not arrived yet, otherwise I would probably be later too. We are not all as blessed as Rei "
Kaida felt that she was blushing and looked at Kyra with a sharp look
"I am counting on you to have done your task"
Huli looked at them and wondered if they could do the task. The only ones who had a name were Kyro and Kaën because they had also fought in the south during the war. And where are their luggage?
He walked forward and greeted everyone

Kyro stepped forward and spoke formally

Huli nodded and turned to Kaida
"I'll see you in a week, I'll greet you at the gates my queen"
Kaida smiled

After saying goodbye Kaida drove away followed by Rei and her four generals.
"She really left before sunset and well before"
he laughed and got on his horse and drove back to the palace with his first general.

Kaida drove next to Kayra
"Is it possible to reach the village at the next sunrise?"
Kayra laughed with a glint in her eyes
" I have not studied the maps for nothing. There are several roads that we can take, but there is only one that we can take at night"
"That is fine lead us the way, we try to be as fast as possible. If we pass the northwest tribe before dawn, we will arrive in the Village before noon. Let me remind you all to be carefull , this is not the forest of the dragon tribe"
Just before noon the following day, they had arrived in the village. The village looked deserted and discarded. The village looked very different from the luxury houses that they had seen. Kaida gestured at Koto. when he was standing next to her she spoke to him

Then she turned to Kaën
"send a message to your army and let them send 150 formidable warriors. The houses need to be repaired and safe against burglary. Because your army is skilled in building, they will come in handy. I will give you three days to get them here, same goes for you Koto "
They nodded and got on their horse. Because they were closer to the border of the South, three days were more then enough for them..
Kaida, Kayra, Rei and Kyro looked around the village and there was no soul to be seen in the streets. They walked to the first inn they saw and walked in.
In the inn it was dim and the only light they saw came from the sunlight and some candles that burned. The people in the inn became dead silent when they saw them and were looking at them with a suspicious look.
Kaida walked to the bar and spoke to the man behind the bar
"greetings there is a rumour going arround that your village is being plagued by bandits. I was sent by your king as reinforcement, would you inform me about the current situation?"
The people in the inn left without saying something. The man looked suspiciously at her and said sarcastic
"reinforcement? What reinforcement? I don't see any foxes or an army. I only see four children standing before me! How can you help us? In addition to that, it is unheard of that reinforcemant could arrive so quickly, who says that you have no ulterior motives! "
Kaida did not blame him, who knows what the people in the village had experienced. She wanted to take off her hood, but Kyro signaled that she shouldn't do that. She lowerd her hand and sat down
"Then if you would be so kind to serve me and my traveling companion"
"Little girl it is better that you leave before sunset, and I advise you to sit somewhere else if you do not want any problems. That table is reserved."
The bartender looked with fear at the doors
"Oh?"
Kaida's raised her eyebrow
"There is no soul to be seen in the street, but you still mange to have a table reserved? I am fine with sitting at this table and I do not intend to get up. I am waiting for someone who dares to move me. Now again if you would be so kind to serve us "
"I beg you, ma'am, I don't want any problems. Please leave my inn and the village now before ..."
the man was interrupted by the clock that struck. He looked at the door with tears of fear
The doors of the inn were roughly opend and four men entered. Each of the men was armed with a sword. The man in the middle looked around the inn and rested his eyes on Kaida who was sitting at a table.
The man walked to the table and looked at Kaida from head to toe. The other three men followed him and stood next to him.
"Move"
the man said while putting his hand on his sword.
Stuttering, the bartender began to talk,
"Gggentlemen, it's jjjust aaaa lllittle girl aaand she's not from here. She'll move if you ..."
Kaida looked into the eyes of the man in front of her, and interrupted the bartender
"I am fine sitting on this table and have no intention of moving. Again I am waiting for someone who has the guts to move me"
The bartender collapsed in despair. Please do not let them destroy my inn, I have a family to feed.
The three men looked at Kayra, Kyro and Rei who stood next to Kaida and stood alert. The man grinned and looked at Kaida. She sat quietly in her chair and had no signs of fear or uneasiness. She just looked at him with a confident and calm look. He grabbed his sword and wanted to attack Kaida.
In a few seconds, Kaida got up and pressed her hand on the man's hand, pushing his sword back into his belt. With a powerfull force She kicked him against his shins, making him fall through his legs.
As he fell over, she grabbed his head and hit it hard against the table. The force with which his head hitted the table made him unconscious.
Kaida looked up and saw that Rei, Kyro and Kayra had overpowered the three men. The smallest of the men shouted furiously
"wait until our boss hears this! Then our entire group comes to teach you a lesson! "
Kaida walked over to him, she squatted down and looked at him with a cold look
"who are we to make him wait. It wil be your honor to send him the message. I'm looking forward to meeting your boss. I'll wait here"
He looked at her in shock. The way she had looked at him had given him shivers all over his body. His hair went up when he heard the tone of her voice. He looked at his allies and back to Kaida. Then he hesitantly got up and walked to the door. With every step he was closer to the door, his steps speeded up.
"I'm coming back, wait for me, brothers," he ran out the doors.
