"Kaylee, I really want to stay, but I need to go home for now," Charlotte said as she hugged her. Charlotte wanted to stay, but her Mom called and wanted her to go home. "See you later, Kaylee."
Kaylee nodded and smiled. "Take care." When Charlotte left, Christopher patted Kaylee's shoulder. "I'll take her home, I won't be late." Kaylee nodded.
Charlotte was shocked when she realized that Christopher was behind her. "Why are you here?"
He placed his arm on Charlotte's shoulder. "I'll take you home."
Charlotte looked at her brother. "How about Kaylee?"
Christopher smiled, "She went back to her unit." Charlotte pouted. "Give me your key." she looked at her brother's hand and sighed as she gave the key.
Inside Charlotte's car. Charlotte was about to say something when Christopher interrupted her. "Shut up!"
Charlotte pouted. "Just give me Kaylee's phone number, I forgot to ask her." Christopher lent her his phone. "What's her name?"
"Kayl" She looked at her brother. "Why?"
"It's none of your business." Charlotte rolled her eyes. "Whatever!" Christopher parked the car in front of the main door of Jarvis Mansion. "Char, I'll take your car, I'll send it back to you tomorrow. Don't tell Mom about Kaylee okay?" Charlotte nodded, "Yes, take care." Charlotte waved her hand. He was about to leave when Jarvis' guards blocked his way. He pulled down the car window and let his arm out and gestured to the guard to get out of his way.
"Since you're already here, why don't you join us for dinner?" Christopher gritted her teeth and looked at the middle-aged woman in the main door. "I'm sorry Mom, I need to go." The middle-aged woman looked at the guards and nodded. The guards forcefully open the car door. Christopher and Charlotte's jaw dropped. "Mom, for Pete's sake, That's my car!"
"Come on, son." Christopher sighed and stepped out of the car. He gave his Mom a kiss on the cheek and walked inside the Mansion. It's been a year since he last laid his feet in this mansion. It's not like he doesn't want to live in this mansion, it's just that, he doesn't want to live with his brother, Ethan. He doesn't have a good relationship with Ethan. Every time they meet, Ethan always starts a fight with him and makes him the bad guy.
Ethan wanted to take everything from Christopher. Position, properties, and the people around him. Ethan believed that Christopher deserved that. Christopher deserved the same life as his Mother. Jarvis Empire should be his.
--
"Mom, I need to go!" Christopher said as he looked at his wristwatch. "Why don't you stay for tonight? It's late." Christopher shook his head. "I'm going." His Mom looked at him. "Why are you in a hurry? It's not that someone is waiting for you." Christopher was taken aback while Charlotte looked at her mom, who was shocked. His mom raised her eyebrow. "Wait— there is?"
"No. It's not like that, I have a lot of work at home." Madam Jarvis nodded. "Is that so?"
"Mom, I'm going, take care," Christopher said as he hugged his Mom. Charlotte escorted him to the parking lot. "What car are you taking?" Christopher looked at Charlotte, "I'm taking my ford." Jarvis has different cars in their parking lot.
Christopher is about to enter the car when he sees Sofia and Ethan inside Ethan's car, kissing. Charlotte followed where Christopher was looking, and she sneered. "Bitch!" Christopher laughed, "Let them. I'll be going, Kaylee is waiting, go inside." Charlotte smiled at Christopher and nodded. "Alright, take care."
When Christopher returned, all the lights in his unit were already off. He didn't get a chance to send a message to Kaylee because his mother didn't leave him alone. It was already 12 midnight. He opened the door and turned on the lights, he saw Kaylee lying on the bed facing the other side. He took a shower and put some clothes on.
Kaylee opened her eyes slightly when she felt someone lie down beside her. She felt the man's arm wrapped around her waist. She can feel the man's breath on her nape. "I'm home. I'm sorry I'm late."
Kaylee didn't say a word for a moment, "Have you eaten?" Christopher bit his lower lip, "Yes, Did I wake you up?" Kaylee shook her head. "No. I was just about to sleep when you came." Christopher kissed Kaylee's nape. "I'm sorry."
Hello, the other day something went wrong to my story that's why I didn't release a chapter. I look and ask someone to fix it. I'm sorry again for the late updates.
The next morning. Christopher woke up without Kaylee on his side. He stood up and went to the bathroom. He washed his face and brushed his teeth. When he got out of their room, he looked around, but he couldn't find Kaylee. And when he returned to their room, she saw Kaylee sitting on the bed. "Where were you?" Kaylee looked at him and smiled.
"I was on my unit" Kaylee stood up, "Are you hungry?"
Christopher shook his head. "I'm heading to the study room." Kaylee blushed. Christopher cleared his throat. "I'll call you if I need you," Christopher said before leaving the room. He let out a sigh, and he took off his shirt. "It's hot."
—
It was already lunchtime when Kaylee went to the study room. She was worried because Christopher didn't have his breakfast. When she entered the study room, Christopher already put his shirt on. He was on his table with his hand on his head. All this time, he didn't do his work, he was thinking about what Charlotte said to him.
Indeed, he didn't want to get married yet, especially with Sofia. It is also true that he prefers Kaylee over Sofia but doesn't want Kaylee to give her all to him, and he doesn't know if Kaylee would agree. "Top, are you okay?" Kaylee asked.
Christopher immediately looked at the woman in front of him. "Oh, you're here."
Kaylee furrowed her brow and nodded her head. "Yes, you didn't notice me?"
Christopher scratched his nape. "Sorry, I was thinking about something?"
Kaylee looked at him worried. "Aren't you hungry, I already prepared our lunch."
He shook his head. "I'm not hungry."
Kaylee blinked, "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm okay."
Kaylee pressed her lips together as she clenched her fist. "You need to eat."
—
Kaylee was lying on the bed while reading a book when Christopher entered the room. "You're still awake," Christopher said, she nodded.
"I'm waiting for you, I'm afraid you won't sleep again because of your work."
Christopher smiled, "I'm taking a shower."
Kaylee stood up and held his arm. "Rest for a bit."
"Actually, I didn't do anything,"
Kaylee blinked. "What did you do then? You were in the study room the whole day."
Christopher looked directly at her eyes. "I was thinking about something."
"What were you thinking? Are you still thinking the same thing earlier."
Christopher shook his head. "It's nothing."
Kaylee sighed. "Tell me, you look so depressed. Maybe I can help you."
Christopher let out a weak laugh, "I'm taking a shower now." He said and went to the bathroom. 'Yes, you can help me, only you can help me, but I don't want to drag you into this mess.' He thought while removing his clothes.
Kaylee knew something was off. She lay back down on the bed and started to read again. When Christopher got out of the bathroom, he was drying his hair with the towel. When his hair was dry, he hopped on the bed. Kaylee was still reading her book.
Christopher lay on the bed and closed his eyes. "Aren't you going to sleep?"
Kaylee shook her head. "Later."
There was silence for a minute or two when Christopher spoke. "Kaylee."
Kaylee looked at the man lying beside her with his eyes closed. "Yes?"
Christopher opened his eyes, he took the book in Kaylee's hand and placed it on the side table. He licked his lips and went on the top of her. He looked into her eyes. Kaylee blinked as she looked back at him. "Can you do me a favor?"
"W-what favor?"
"Marry me." Kaylee's jaw dropped.
"Huh?"
It's a super short update I'm sorry I'm too sleepy.
