Several weeks passed since Christopher got sick. After that day, Kaylee kept some medicines in case Christopher got sick again. She always made sure that Christopher went to bed. The awkwardness between her and Christopher is completely gone. No matter how things go, she always feels the gentleness she felt when Christopher was around.
After spending the past few weeks working under Christopher, she learned about Christopher's family. Christopher and his little sister, Charlotte, are real siblings. Ethan, on the other hand, is their half-brother. He is the son of her father in his first love. She also discovered that besides herself and Liam, Christopher has his secretary on the first floor. She works as Christopher's messenger if her mother, sister, or Sofia is at the Empire. She'll report every single detail to Christopher.
Kaylee got back to reality when a hand patted her shoulder. "What were you thinking?" Kaylee shook her head. "Nothing."
The man sat beside her and sighed. "Sorry to trouble you, Liam will not be around for a week." Kaylee smiled and rested her head on the couch. "It's nothing."
Christopher looked at her while she was leaning on the couch with her eyes closed. He stood up and picked up some documents on his table. After a while, she slowly opened her eyes. She looked at Christopher and stood up. "Are we going home?" Christopher stopped what he was doing for a moment and looked at her with a smile as he nodded.
Kaylee got her bag on her table and took the documents in Christopher's hand. Christopher looked at her confused. "What are you doing?"
Kaylee blinked twice. "Doing my job." Christopher looked away and said in a lower voice. "This is not your job."
"Huh?" Christopher shook his head. "Let me handle this." Kaylee was about to say something when Christopher took back the documents in her hands and placed them back on the table. "Let's just leave it here." She laughed.

At JCrystal Hotel ground floor. Sofia parked her car and was about to get out of her car when she saw, Christopher and Kaylee got out of Christopher's car. She got out of her car and approached the two of them. Christopher didn't pay much attention to her and continued to walk as Kaylee followed him. "Topher, I heard Liam will not be here for a week. You want me to replace him for a while."
"I have Kaylee." Sofia frowned and went in front of Christopher. Christopher stopped and looked at her with his cold gaze. "Why are you here?" Sofia gulped and looked at Christopher with her sad face. "I want to spend time with you." Christopher started to walk again as Kaylee followed him. "Go home, It's late," Christopher said, leaving Sofia alone.

At Christopher's unit, Living room. Christopher is on a video call with Liam.
"Dude! I cleared your schedule for a week. I also asked Anna to pack some documents that needed to be done immediately. It's not urgent, but those documents were needed after I returned to work. You don't need to go to the Empire tomorrow. Someone will bring those documents to your unit."
Christopher raised his brows. "Why did you clear my schedule? Did you think I couldn't go to work without you? I have Kaylee." Liam's face turned pale, and his jaw dropped.
"I know that you have her. You don't need to say it all the time. My point is, we don't know if Kaylee can handle my job since you don't let me teach her. Now that I am not there, do you think she can do it just because she saw me do my work daily?"
"Are you underestimating Kaylee?" Liam froze. Christopher looked at him with an innocent look. "What?"
Liam sighed. "I'm saying that I want to give you and Kaylee some time alone."
Christopher smiled. "Thank you." He laughed when Liam ended the call, after he said, 'Thank you.'
He stood up and went to the kitchen. Kaylee was preparing their dinner. "Are you done?"
Kaylee looked at the man, smiled, and then nodded. "Let's eat." Christopher picked up the spoon and sipped the soup Kaylee made. He sat on his chair and started to eat with Kaylee.
"Have you talked to Liam?" Kaylee asked in the middle of their dinner. Christopher put down his spoon and looked at Kaylee as he nodded. When he nodded, Kaylee also nodded her head. "What did he say?" Christopher smiled. "He cleared my schedule for a whole week." Her jaw dropped. "He didn't trust me?"
Christopher smiled at her as he held her hand. "I trust you."
"Thank you."
Hello, I'm sorry for the late release. I actually really don't have time for the update because of my work, outside. But I saw your comments so I decided to release the two chapters in my draft. I can't give you mass release now. I am going to have free time starting on Monday again. I can give you a daily update by then. I am really sorry about the delay and thank you for liking my work. I appreciate it.
Inside Christopher and Kaylee's room. Kaylee is lying on the bed with her eyes closed while Christopher is sitting beside her with his laptop on his lap. "Are you awake?" Upon hearing Christopher's voice, Kaylee opened her eyes and looked at the man. Christopher smiled and caressed Kaylee's hair. "Tomorrow, someone will bring some documents from the Empire here. I'm going to trouble you again. We will be busy by then." Kaylee smiled. "You don't have to worry about that."

The next morning, Kaylee woke up early. Beside her, Christopher is sleeping peacefully. Kaylee stood up and went to the bathroom. She placed her hand in the wash basin. "You're useless." She said while looking directly at her reflection through the mirror before her.
Kaylee took a deep breath and lowered her head, she taped the faucet, washed both her hands and her face, and brushed her teeth.
Kaylee took the towel from the drawer and wiped her face. She looked at her reflection once again and smiled.
When she left the bathroom, she saw Christopher lying asleep on the bed. Kaylee went to the kitchen in Christopher's unit and prepared their breakfast. After preparing their breakfast, she returned to their room to check if Christopher had woken up.
When she saw that the man was still asleep, she decided to watch TV in the living room and wait for Christopher to wake up.
After a while, Kaylee looked behind when she heard footsteps coming from her back. She saw the man walking towards her as he ran his fingers through his hair. His hair is messy, and his eyes are slightly closed, proving he's still sleepy. He sat beside Kaylee and lay down on the couch.
His head was placed in Kaylee's lap. Kaylee blinked as she looked at the man with his head in her lap. The man placed his arm on his forehead. "Do you want to eat?" Kaylee asked.
"Hm." Christopher shook his head. "Later." Kaylee nodded as she watched the TV. "What are you watching?" He asked while his eyes shut and his arm on his forehead.
"It's a movie based on one of my favorite books, To All the Boys I've Loved Before."
Christopher opened his eyes and removed his arm from his forehead. He looked at the TV screen. It's the part where the male lead gives a letter to the female lead every day. "Do you like this kind of story?"
Kaylee looked at him. "Well, you see girls like this kind of story. I mean some of the girls."
Christopher smiled, "So you like it?" Kaylee was stunned. She blinked. "Well, yeah."
"Should I write you a letter every day just like what he did?" Kaylee laughed. "Hell no!"
Christopher smiled. "Why not?" Kaylee gave him a 'seriously look' "You don't have to."
"You said you like it." Kaylee was still stunned as she looked at him. "Yes, I mean no!" Kaylee looked away, but Christopher followed her gaze. Kaylee sighed, "Okay, I like the story, but that doesn't mean I like stuff like that."
Christopher looked at Kaylee while nodding his head. "Hm, I see."
Kaylee rolled her eyes, "Fine, It's kinda cute. And sweet." Christopher nodded with a grin on his lips. 'That's not the face of someone sleepy just a minute ago.' Kaylee thought to herself. "So you like it."
"SHUT UP!" Christopher laughed and held his tummy. 'He likes teasing me.'
"I'm hungry." Kaylee grabbed the remote from the side table and paused the movie. "Wait up." She said as she stood.
Christopher smiled, "Let's eat here, okay?" Kaylee didn't say anything and went to the kitchen. She heated the vegetable sandwich and ham and egg crescent rolls and placed them on a tray with two glasses of milk. When she returned to the living room, Christopher was holding his phone, playing a game.
Kaylee put down the tray on the center table. Christopher ignored her and continued playing the game.
"I was completely ignored." Christopher looked at her for a second and returned to his phone, "Huh?"
Kaylee sat beside Christopher and started to eat and play the movie. She was busy watching and eating when a certain someone bites the sandwich in her hands. Kaylee raised her eyebrow and looked at the man beside her. He's smiling widely while scratching the back of his head. He grabbed some food on the tray and ate it.
"I'll be going to the market later--"
"I'm going with you." Without looking at Christopher Kaylee said, "No you're not."
Christopher looked at her stunned. "Why?" Kaylee blinked.
"What if the documents arrive and no one's here?" Christopher nodded. "Okay, then."
