Kaylee slowly opened her eyes as the sunlight touched her skin. She frowned as she felt the pain in her head. She stood up and went to the bathroom. She washed her face, brushed her teeth, and got out of their room.
Inside her unit. Kaylee searched for food, but no matter where she looked, she found nothing. She doesn't have money either. She bit her lips as she entered the room again. "I'm hungry." She murmured to herself.
Kaylee sat on the bed and was about to lie back when the door from the other side opened. She blinked, the man looked at her and smiled. "Did you sleep well?" Kaylee stood up. "Y-yes."
"Breakfast is ready." Kaylee blushed when she heard that. She doesn't need to pay for anything, she's going to have a monthly salary, all she needs to do is to act, and yet she can't give him what he wants. Christopher walked toward Kaylee and held her hand. "Remember what I told you last night?" Kaylee nodded. "Good. Let's eat, Liam is here." Kaylee and Christopher went out of the room and walked toward the dining room while holding each other's hands.
When Liam saw them, he raised his brow. Christopher and Kaylee sat on their seat and joined Liam on the table. Liam looked at Kaylee while he was eating. On the other hand, Kaylee didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Liam is eating while looking at her. She wants to kick his face, right now. 'Please stop, you're creeping me out, okay?'
When Christopher noticed Kaylee's odd face, he looked at Liam. He frowned "Dude! What do you think you're doing?"
Liam didn't pay much attention to him and asked. "What's wrong with your eyes? Did you cry? Did Topher make you cry?" Upon hearing Liam's question, Christopher and Kaylee were stunned for a moment. And after seeing their reaction, Liam nodded. "As expected. Sorry about that, Topher has been holding himself for quite a while now. I was having a hard time looking for a decent- ouch!" Christopher hit Liam's back head while Kaylee blinked twice.
Christopher is sitting in the center while Liam is on his right and Kaylee on his left. "Shut up!"
Kaylee laughed awkwardly. "I-It's not like that."
When Liam heard that, he paused. "Oh!" Liam shrugged as he continued to eat.
— JMall | The same day
Christopher, Liam, and Kaylee went to the mall to buy some clothes, shoes, and bags for Kaylee. Since she had nothing but herself, Christopher insisted on buying the things she needed. Kaylee told him she was going to get her things at her Aunt's house, but Christopher kept on insisting on it. She didn't expect that the CEO of Jarvis Empire would be this generous. What others said was the opposite
After an hour, a lot of paper bags with branded clothes, bags, and shoes inside were placed in front of them. Kaylee looked at them awkwardly. "T-these are too much." Christopher and Liam are in their acting mode. Kaylee gulped as she restrained herself. 'I need to join them, okay.'
They were about to leave when a sweet voice rang in their ears. "Topher?" The three of them stopped on their way and looked at the woman in front of them. She's wearing a red tube dress. The dress fitted to her body, revealing her curves. Her long hair was tied up. Her red lips curved upward, and she ran and clung to Christopher's arm. "Sofia? Since when did you come back?" The woman smiled as she leaned her head into Christopher's shoulder. "Yesterday."
Liam looked at Kaylee for a second. He sighed and coughed lightly. Christopher and Sofia looked at him. When Sofia saw Liam, she raised her brow. "Assistant Liam, It's nice to see you again," Sofia said with a not-so-friendly tone. Kaylee caught that part. 'What's with her?'
Liam chucked. "It's been a while, Miss Sofia." Sofia's gaze landed on Kaylee. Her sharp gaze sent a chill to Kaylee's body. "And who is this girl?" She asked.
"Topher's future wife," Liam murmured to himself. Sofia's sharp eyes landed on Liam "Excuse me? What did you just say?" Liam grinned.
"She's my Assistant." Sofia frowned as she looked at Christopher.
"What do you mean Assistant? Liam is your Assistant, okay?" Christopher's cold eyes met Sofia's sharp eyes. "Is it wrong to have two Assistants?"
Sofia was taken aback. "It's not like that." Sofia looked at Kaylee from head to toe. "I mean, why it has to be a girl?"
"What's wrong if she's a girl? Sometimes, girls do better than boys."
"Your name?" She asked, irritated.
"Kaylee McCain." Sofia gave her a weak smile. "I am Sofia Ricafort, the heiress of Ricafort Corporation, and Topher's future wife."
Kaylee was taken aback. "N-nice to meet you, Miss Sofia."
"You're not even his girlfriend. Ha! You're thinking too much. A devil like you will never be Topher's wife." Liam murmured to himself.
"What did you say?!"
Liam smirked "I'm talking to myself."
"Why are you here?"
Sofia looked at Christopher and ignored Liam and Kaylee. "I'm bored and suddenly want to go shopping."
"Are you alone?" Sofia shook her head and pointed the two men in black behind her.
"I'm hungry, let's eat, Topher," Sofia said softly as she moved closer to Christopher. He looked at Kaylee. She was standing next to Liam with her head bowed. When he looked at Liam, he looked at him calmly as he mouthed 'Contract.' Christopher removed Sofia's hand from his arm and pushed her away.
Sofia frowned as she looked at Christopher stunned, she awkwardly laughed "What's wrong Topher?"
"I'm sorry, let's eat some other time." Sofia's jaw dropped. "What did you say? Did you just reject me?" Christopher looked at her coldly.
"See you later." Christopher was about to leave when Sofia held his hand. "You're not leaving!" Christopher let go of Sofia's hand.
"I'm sorry, we're leaving." Christopher turned his back on Sofia and walked away. Liam and Kaylee followed him quietly while holding the shopping bags.
Sofia clenched her fist and walked irritatedly towards Christopher pushing Liam and Kaylee out of her way.
Kaylee and the shopping bags on her hands fell on the floor. When Christopher saw Kaylee on the floor, he frowned as he walked toward her and helped her stand up. Sofia was taken aback by what she saw.
Christopher is not the type of person who will help anyone in this kind of situation. Especially just a mere assistant. 'Just who the hell is this bitch?' Sofia thought to herself.
When her eyes, landed on the shopping bags on the floor, she looked at the shopping in Liam's hand. 'JL's Wear?' JL's Wear is a Ladies' wear brand. Which means, this stuff is for girls.
"What do you think you're doing, Sofia?" Sofia sharply looked at Christopher. "That's my line! What do you think you're doing, Topher?"
Christopher picked up the shopping bags on the floor. "Let's go." He said. Kaylee stood up to follow him, but Sofia pulled out her hair before she could leave. "AHH!" Christopher and Liam stopped on their way and looked behind. Sofia is pulling Kaylee's hair.
Christopher looked up and closed his eyes as he pressed his lips together. His grip on the paper bags tightened. He sighed, opened his eyes, let go of the paper bags, and walked toward them.
"You bitch!"
Christopher held Sofia's wrist. Sofia frowned and looked at Christopher. "What are you doing? Let me go!" The two men in black were about to stop Christopher when Liam blocked them. "Miss Sofia is fine. Let my master handle this."
"Let me go! It hurts!" When the two men heard that, they charged toward Christopher but Liam didn't let them.
"Let her go, first!" Christopher firmly said. Sofia let go of Kaylee's hair as she sneered.
When Sofia let go of Kaylee, Christopher tossed away her hand. "Stop picking on Kaylee."
Liam grinned. "Serve you right." He murmured!.
"What's wrong with you?" Sofia's irritated voice rang in their ears.
"Nothing is wrong with me."
Sofia looked at the three of them. "This is so not you, Topher. Who is she to deserve your protection?"
Christopher looked at her coldly. "It has nothing to do with you." Sofia clenched her teeth! "Goodbye."
"You'll regret this!" Sofia shouted.
The three of them walked away without looking back. Kaylee bit her lower lip. 'That was so intense.'
On the other hand, Christopher tried to suppress his anger. In the end, he put up a poker face, but when his gaze landed on Liam, he chuckled. Liam has a wide smile on his face. "Are you that happy?" Liam nodded.
Liam pressed the car key and placed the paper bags in the trunk. He opened the driver's seat door and entered the car. He looked at the rearview mirror and buckled up his seat belt as he started the engine.
"Are you okay?" Kaylee nodded. "I'm sorry about that, Sofia has a bad temper."
Kaylee smiled. "It's okay." She was used to it.
"She's a spoiled brat, okay?" Liam irritatedly said as he slowly stepped on the gas and started driving.
Christopher laughed. "You really hate her, huh?" Liam rolled his eyes. "I hate her to death!" Christopher and Kaylee laughed when they saw Liam's reaction.
"Stop laughing idiots!" Kaylee smiled as she looked outside. "Thank you!" She said. The two men looked at her and smiled.
'I've never been this happy since my grandma died. The protection they gave me, the assurance that I'm not alone. I like it. I'm starting to like it.'
