Chapter 9: Back Home

"So the temples, mosque or the churches actually gave off the yin energy and those beast are of Yang. From where the hell that explanation came from?" Rex burst into laughter.

"Then who do you explain why those mana beasts couldn't come inside?"

"I don't know, you are a scientist you tell me."

"Brother, are you teasing me?" Aria acted to be angry.

"No, I thought that there will be a scientific explanation of that too. You just explained the millennium-old magic using science you can't you explain these?"

"There is a reason behind everything. That need a huge amount of observation." Aria munch down on the piece of crackers those they stole from the mart.

The whole city was in chaos. There was no public, to begin with much less public order. They had to fight their way out of the city. It was not just beasts, also some contaminated human and even some being they couldn't explain.

But with Rex's strength and the healing ability from the angle, they were able to avoid most of the situation.

"If you are done with your food let's move." Rex looked outside. There were six beasts. There was no way to avoid them. They have to fight. Rex won't mind beating some of the beasts.

"Brother, why are you not hungry?" Aria packed the bag and put it on. Rex had to fight continuously so she had to carry the luggage.

"Will had said that I body absorbed the mana from the air and nourish my body. So I don't need to eat. Let's go if we are able to go three more kilometres then we will be able to reach Barrackpore."

Barrackpore was the town on the northernmost town under the jurisdiction under the city of Kolkata. There were two reasons why they were aiming for the city. First and foremost that is the place where Aria and Rex lived. They were hoping that uncle and aunt will be here too. But most important thing was this was only Military cantonment around the area.

While Aria was packing Rex came out. The fiery fur dogs are the most numerous around the area. Along with the burning horn bison and the snow fur cat, they dominated the ground. While the sky was nominated with shadow crows and sonar vultures.

Out of six in front of Rex, there were two dogs, three bison and one cat. Rex used his crystal skill multiple time over the last few days. Now he had no problem to fight a dozen at the same time much less half of it. His rules remained the same. Take the cat out.

Rex moved at the swift speed smashing the cat on the ground and moved for the bison. They were strong. Along with their horns, their legs were burning too. But that fire had little to no effect on Rex. He kicks broke the legs of the bison rendering them useless. With his speed, the dogs were the ones who could match him but he had his way too.

He just stood there letting the dogs bit him. Even the burning jaw had little effect on his skin. He just beat them to death when they took the bait.

"Brother your fighting style is too reckless. You should take care of yourself."

After Rex took care of the beasts she came out with the backpack on her back.

"You are a magician who uses mana to do magic and I am more of a labour type so it was quite natural that I will put my body on the line. By the way, you have the angle you can heal me nonetheless."

After becoming the master of Will he could see the spirit and the flow of mana and magic. So he could see the angle and the black boy whom he had named wind. But Aria never said anything about it so he didn't ask. It was not like that was important for it all but…

After walking more than two hours and three fights the town came into view.

Rex sighed in relief. On the first day, he lost his love, Mayuri. Then went on to do his first murder. Almost lost his own life, then almost lost Aria. Now after ten days he had returned to his hometown. With the house at such close proximity of the military camp, the probability was higher. He didn't want to think otherwise.

[Master, there is a new challenger for the tower, what should I do?]

Rex was connected to the tower after contract and get every news even without going there.

"Do as you do." Rex stopped for a moment, " how many floors are ready?"

[We have 11 floors]

"Ok, go with it. Keep me updated." After giving confirmation she stopped talking.

"Brother." That was all Aria could speak off. The hose was still there through the door was broken. There was a sign of fighting both inside and outside the room. Blood marks of the wall, all the room was devastated.

The only body they have found in the room was of the family dog. Looking at the claw mark of the bulk up the dead body of the German shepherd Aria broke into tears.
