Chapter 10: Chapter Ten

Chapter ten:

Feng Qi didn't have the energy to get out of her embrace so he just tiredly stared at her in confusion and distrust. He hated the fact that he was so weak that he couldn't resist her in anyway. It was truly pitiful.

Meng didn't notice the feelings in Feng Qi's eyes as she was focused on all of the marks on his body. His shirt had originally covered many of them from her sight, but once it was sliced by the guards everything was exposed.

Tears fell like a river down Meng's face as she realized that their wasn't a single part of his body that wasn't cut or bruised. She held him closely in her arms so that she wouldn't be forced to see his scars. She knew that if she looked at them for a minute longer she really would go insane.

In the novel, the author did talk about the torture Feng Qi went through, but somehow seeing it in real life was ten times worse.

"Feng Qi, I know that you probably hate me to death right now and that you definitely don't trust me. However, I need you to take a leap of faith and let me get you out of here. I definitely can't leave you here to suffer anymore." Meng spoke every word determinedly and without wavering.

She really hoped he agreed, because if he didn't she would definitely drag him out regardless. In his weak state she could easily subdue him and remove him from this place. Out of curtesy for him she wasted time allowing him to decide.

Feng Qi eyes were still full of distrust and wariness, however he couldn't stop himself from feeling a bit of hope at her words. Would she really get him out of here?

He knew that even though the emperor said he would be released when Ru Gu Meng woke up, it would still take a day before he was actually let go. Previously he might of been fine with it and could refuse her offers.

But now, with the deep gash he received

from the guards he wasn't sure if he could last another day. If the wounds were left untreated he wasn't sure if he could even live through the night.

Feng Qi avoided her large searching eyes and looked down on the ground before nodding his head. Normally Feng Qi was a lot more distrusting than this and would of surely told her to back off without thinking twice.

However, for the first time in four years he couldn't help from being touched by the care she showed him. He didn't realize how much he missed being cared for until this very moment... so much that he was willing to even hope to get it from his greatest enemy.

He didn't fool himself into thinking that she really cared, but he did want to hold on to this nostalgic feeling a minute longer. Closing his eyes, Feng Qi imagined himself four years ago in the arms of his parents, in an place he once knew.

Meng tightly grabbed Feng Qi to stop him from falling after he fell asleep. She was glowing with happiness after seeing that he trusted her so much to even fall asleep.

Chapter 11: Chapter Eleven

Chapter eleven:

Picking him up princess style, Meng sighed with relief when she realized that he wasn't as heavy as she thought. Hugging Feng Qi tighter, Meng swore that she definitely would not betray his trust ever again.

The guards nearly puked blood seeing their young miss carrying the Hostage Prince, princess style. If she was seen like this wouldn't it harm her reputation?

"Princess Ru Gu Meng allow this servant to carry Feng Qi, people might get the wrong idea if you are seen like this." One of the guards reached out to help Meng.

Seeing those hands threatening to take away her Feng Qi how could Meng not feel threatened? She didn't hesitate before kicking the guard where the sun didn't shine and running off leaving the guard in shock.

The guard who previously got held hostage by Meng couldn't help but maliciously laugh at his partner. 'Heh do you still think that she isn't a wild tiger now!'

The guard who got kicked was bent down on the ground wheezing. He truly did not think that the young miss would hurt him and didn't put on any protective layers of aura. Now he might not be able to even have kids!

Seeing the despair in his partner's eyes the guard couldn't laugh anymore. Helping his partner up they both cried about the dangers of the area. Who said that being a guard was easy! They will surely beat them to death for spreading lies!

...

Meng brought Feng Qi to the physician corridors to look for help.

The area was as dark as the rest of the cave, covered with green fires that never went out, called earth fire. The corridor stretched for a while before hitting a stone wall, yet on each side of the corridor were multiple rooms.

"Help! Someone was stabbed!" She yelled out looking into every room for a physician.

However, no matter where she looked she couldn't even catch a shadow of one. Was there something going on today that caused the physicians to not come?

She recollected her thoughts about the novel, but no matter how much she thought she couldn't guess the reason why the physicians weren't here.

Little did she know that currently the physicians were all in her room trying to find out the cause of death of the maid and where the bed ridden young princess went.

Going to a random patient bed Meng laid Feng Qi down. She then pried his hands off of her before backing up to get a better look at his wounds.

She flinched after seeing them again, however forced herself to stay together. Seeing this is just icing on the cake when it comes to the brutality in 'Defying Moonlight' if she couldn't take this than she wasn't even fit to breathe the same air as Feng Qi.

Meng took off Feng Qi's shirt out of fear that the dirt on it will cause his wound to become infected. She then started to look around for something to treat Feng Qi with.

To be clear Meng had absolutely no talent in medicine, luckily the MC in the novel did. Therefore, going off of the novel Meng was able to think of a way to treat him.

Going to a shelf located in the room, Meng looked over the different items and bottles. For a moment she was stunted looking at the weirdly shaped letters presented. With squinted eyes, she read over everything looking for anything similar. She knew that the book was located in a different world, however the author never mentioned another language.

'Do I have to learn another language again?'

Picking up a random bottle, Meng glared at the weird letters. Thus, an intense five minute stare off with a bottle was created before Meng sighed sadly to herself. No matter how much she stared she couldn't match any of the letters with modern day Korea or China. It seemed like the small information she had about her precious world didn't matter.

Her eyes turned downcast as she started to put the bottle back.

"Eh!"

Meng's hand paused in midair suddenly and her eyebrows hit the roof of her head. The weird letters on the bottle didn't change, yet she had a weird feeling that she knew what it meant. Now that she wasn't focused on her old language, with a clear head she read flying tree leaf powder.

"Flying tree leaf powder." Meng repeated the words out loud, however to her it didn't seem any different. With out her knowing it seemed she had already been speaking the language. Despite the fascination of it all, Meng was most grateful that she didn't have to put in work to learn another language.

Grabbing anti-bacteria salve, alcohol, gauze, stitching material, and a wet towel. Meng made her way back to Feng Qi. Thankfully he was still sleeping, therefore she wouldn't have to convince him to allow her to treat him. After all, who in their right mind would trust a ten year old to save their life?
