Lucille's neck stretched to it's full length as she spat a sizeable burst of flame at the dragon in front of her. Surprisingly, or not, it didn't seem to do much damage as the enemy dragon was a ground dragon that definitely specialised in defense. It took her quite a bit of willpower to stop herself from cussing, she limited herself to a very exasperated sigh.
After her attempt at flaming the opposing dragon, she realised it had only enraged it. "Oh my" she exclaimed as she watched the ground dragon suddenly let out another one of it's earpiercing roars and the ground around her trembled. A stream of curses were streaming through her head, it had slipped her mind that other dragons had elemental affinites and skills as well. "Ugh Lucille, you careless imbecile" she sighed before very quickly turning tail, and running full speed ahead. She could hear crashing and enraged roars behind her, not daring to look at her unwanted partner in this wonderful game of death tag. She kept running, heart beating 100miles per hour,
"damn that ground dragon, aren't they supposed to be SLOW? I've been lied to" she complained continuously but not daring to stop her full on sprint and confront her pursuer. The ground dragon didn't seem to be gaining or losing ground. How could he keep up with her with the gouge that was clearly bleeding heavily? She was frustrated, very frustrated, why wouldn't it leave her aloneee! I mean all she did was claw a hole in his artery and dig her claws into it's shoulder blades. Come on wasn't that bad? Oh flamed it too but back to the main topic... How in Taflheim was she supposed to get rid of it, shouldn't it have weakened from excessive blood loss? Oh wait, maybe it has incredible recovery magic? Ugh too much unknown, not enough information.
A little while later, still running! Just out for her daily jog of death. as she was beginning to tire, not going to lie, she obviously doesn't have godly stamina and she had been running at full speed for about 15 minutes. Dragons have strong physiques but, ne shouldn't expect much from a dragon as young as she was. Well dandy, she was having a bad day, or perhaps not as bad as she had thought! Just as she was wallowing in her many misfortunes, she realised that the ground dragon was slowing, "just as planned" she laughed, which came out as a odd keening, um not doing that again, she turned on her heels to face her newly deemed nemesis. Exageration? MUCH but hey, sounded cool, she could tell the story saying "I battled my nemesis In a heated exchanhe of blows where I absolutely didn't try to flee..." better not tell that story hehe.
Not long after her abrupt stop, the ground dragon's lumbering figure came into view. She licked her lips that were actually scales? "ready for round 2 buddy?" she growled.
She could feel her heart thumping loudly in her chest, her nemesis lurked forwards and seemed to be in pretty bad shape. Blood was practically gushing from the gouge in it's neck, Lucille assessed that this particular dragon wasn't too bright. It chased after her even though it was in this state? Not that she was complaining, such persistence, this would lead to it's demise at her talons, maybe this wasn't such a bad day, seems this ground dragon had more brawns than brains mwahaha
.
Not waiting for her enemy to recover from it's obviously exhausting dash through the forest, Lucille grabbed the dragon's maw in her talons keeping it away from her, which was quite hard considering it was considerably bigger than her. Throwing away any aversion to blood she had had from her pampered human life, her serrated teeth met with hard scales and soft flesh. Urk, she had to stop herself from retching at the taste of the enemy dragon's flesh. Disgusting to say the least, tasted like cheese that had been fermenting for waaay too long.
Despite her victim's disgusting taste and violent thrashing that was getting noticeably weaker, she tightened her grip on the bloody dragon's maw and neck, her claws dug into it's face and her hold on it's neck tightened. She had opted not to use her flame for fear of sealing the wound she that had taken quite some effort to make, this left her with only pure melee as her methods of attack. As her teeth dug deeper and deeper into the poor dragon's scaly hide, blood sprayed into her mouth as well as on her snout, disgusting! but her efforts were not in vain. The dragon's thrashing was becoming weaker and weaker, it tried crushing her on the ground but ultimately she was too nimble and avoided turning into a dragon hamburger patty. They were locked in that position for a good 5 minutes before the ground dragon finally kicked the bucket from excessive blood loss.
As the dragon fell, a ding resounded in the newfound silence of the forest, "Player succesfully felled GroundDragon, you have been awarded 1skill point and 2000 experience points" after the first message finished, a second ding was heard in rapid succession "player is now level 20, evolution is now available". As she caught her breath and analysed what the system? had just told her, she made surprised snorts, that was a helluva lot of XP, at least to her it was, it brought her up 10 levels! Well she did take down an enemy that was 10levels and 1 evolution above her.
And what were skill points? How come she had to discover everything herself? Just because she was a so called anomaly doesn't mean they can make her skip the tutorial!
Taking out her frustration on the already cold corpse of the ground dragon, she decided to look at her stats before deciding on her evolution path :
Lv22 (no name) Darkfire dragon (juvenile)
{evolution available}
health : 320/490
mana: 370/400
abilities:
Darkfire (1/5) - 30 mana
Dragon's roar (1/2) - 0 mana
strength: 40 speed: 60 intelligence:55
It would seem her speed and strength had doubled but her intelligence not. Perhaps other requirements were needed to raise her intelligence but she would worry about that later. Right now she was tired and wounded from all that unnecessary screeching and roughhousing. A rest seemed beneficial, especially since her HP seemed to have taken a hit as well. She slinked towards a tree and nimbly climbed to where she was sure the silvery foliage would cover her and let exhaustion take over her. That was way too much excitement for one day...
Thank you very much for reading, as this is my first ever novel, I am very sure that there will be loopholes and just RANDOMNESS in my chapters so, many apologies.
