Chapter 206: The Dragon Colin

"You're a guardian of this place, do you still need an outsider to be giving you such ridiculous answers?" Nightin asked without fear.

"Young lad, are you really speaking to someone of the dragon race this arrogantly?" When the third guardian appeared, Nightin was shocked to realise that this guardian was a dragon who had taken on human form.

He was tall and muscular with a slender build. He had a blueish fabric to cover up his lower half and a red shirt that leaves his sleeves exposed. Brown hair that has been pushed back neatly, curving up proudly at the end and last but not least, he had a scar that blinded his right eye with a long cut.

"Dragons? A mere dragon is nothing when compared to the divine phoenix." Nightin stated solemnly as flames cloaked around his body.

His flames may have been born from the scorching flames and relentless hurricane back in that timed realm, but his inheritance had made it impossible for him to abandon his roots.

"Flames from the divine phoenix?" The dragon asked with a smile, but the accidental release of his aura showed that the reverence was still there.

"You aren't as shocked as I had expected." Nightin stated calmly. His eyes looking upwards, straight into the eyes of the dragon who was staring at him.

It was a staring contest which actually challenged their confidence and most importantly, the nobility of the race which they were in. Nightin may not be a direct member of the divine phoenix race himself, but he knew for sure that he had ties with the core members of the phoenix race.

Phoenix may not have given much information, but the Golden Crow had told him more than enough for him to come to this conclusion.

Unwilling to back down, he stared right back into the eyes of that dragon. Its sapphire eyes were determined to win.

"Samsara eyes, open." Nightin thought to himself while the bewitching lotus in his eyes mocked the dragon.

In the eyes of the cycles of life, even the strongest of cultivators are nothing but a puppet being played around by it. In the eyes of the apex experts in the universe, they feel fearless regardless of whatever they are up against. In the eyes of the supreme race Archangels, they feel fear like all wise beings. They were up against the flow of time which was sapping away at their life force every passing moment.

"Young lad, just where did you get those eyes of yours?" When the dragon asked, its body was actually trembling from fear. His noble bloodline felt suppressed for the first time in his thousands of years living.

"These eyes?" Nightin asked out of surprise while he pointed towards his eyes with a finger.

"Did someone pass it down to you or did you get those eyes from somewhere else?" The dragon asked, his head slightly lowered.

"None of that. I awakened these eyes myself." Nightin didn't explain much besides briefing through it. All he wants right now is to make full use of this dragon to get as much information as he possibly can.

He needed to find the reason behind the four guardians being sealed here and the person who sealed them up here. It wasn't a quest or a destiny thrown onto his shoulders, he was doing it willingly since the secrets might be linked to him as well.

"How is that possible?" The dragon blurted out while covering its mouth anxiously, its body shaking violently from the immense fear.

It was a taboo to let anyone who has yet to fear death due to their lifespan fading away know about this. It was an untold rule that all cultivators were told and all of them understood one thing.

Eternal lifespan would lead to the end of the entire universe if it ever comes. No one sees it yet, but what if everyone reaches the peak cultivation one day and no cultivators die due to old age?

Nightin, despite his discerning eyes, was unable to notice the fact that the dragon had already made up his mind.

"What do you mean by that?"

Hearing Nightin's sudden question, he really wanted to smack himself in the face for leaking so much information since the beginning which led to this incessant questioning session.

"I didn't mean much, but those eyes of yours behold mystical powers from what I know." The dragon explained briefly.

Nightin nodded and when he smiled, the dragon honestly felt a chill being sent down his spine. It was injured and unable to take on its dragon form, its essence was also too damaged for him to bring forth any true combat strength.

"How about this, shall we strike a deal?" Nightin asked, inching one step closer towards the dragon. His eyes remained staring at those eyes of the dragon which were trying to avoid eye contact with him.

"What deal are you thinking of striking with me right now?" The dragon asked after letting out a long sigh, he had resigned to fate.

Considering the temperament of this young man, it wouldn't be a wonder if he comes to no harm. But for a young genius, especially one who holds this much talent at a tender age, that would only bring him trouble.

"If I can bring you out of here and even give you the proper grounds to recover your strength, would you consider leaving this hell of a place with me?"

Hearing the abrupt invitation which had come from nowhere, the dragon was lost and unsure of the next step he should take.

I guess this is as much information as I can get for now, anymore would just leave a mental scar in him.

Coming to a final stand, Nightin popped the most important question. Deep down, he had already decided that he would just fail the mission given by the system if the dragon still refuses to join him.

He might be the one on the losing end, but it was a must for his main purpose must be kept a secret. A secret to those who have yet to join him and proved loyal by the mission progress.

"What do you mean by that? You're just going to bring me out of this hell without giving a damn about the restrictions and barrier?" The dragon asked in fury, but still held back. Anymore and he would trigger his injuries again.

In the northern hemisphere of one of the desolated realms, it wasn't without life as all living beings had expected. It was the realm where dragons roam about freely, the realm had already been improved to be comparable to the average high grade realms by them in just five years.

It was the Desolation dragon race, the dragon race which brings about destruction and ranks in the top ranking of all dragons. It was only the Desolation dragon race initially, but soon more of the others joined them.

Why? Because they were close friends of the Desolation dragons. Not only that, close allies to the leader of the Desolation dragon race that rules over the deserts. It was one of the strongest dragons, one of the terrifying existences that even those with noble bloodline fear.

He still had a long life, probably around thirty thousand years left to live, but he was also a victim of betrayal.

It was those dragons he invited into the realm that came up with the conspiracy to usurp his position as king. They wanted to reign over the dragon race themselves which resulted in the bloodbath when they neglected one dragon, the true dragon which beheld all their powers.

It was the most ancient among them and it's rumored to have been the first dragon in existence. But one thing all of them know of was that even the most historical records didn't mention anything about this ancient dragon besides it being the true god among dragons.

With dragons being the supreme of all living beings, it was the god among the supremes. It was the king which made use of the chaos to kill all the leaders, resulting in the fall of six dragon species and a sharp decline in the position of dragons in the universe.

The dragon standing before Nightin right now was the Desolation dragon who made use of its absolute defense to escape. In exchange for his own life however, it was the sacrificing of its dragon soul which caused it to fall back to the pinnacle stage of the Great Sage realm.

To make matters worse, he was sealed up here without any way to cultivate or recover ever since he regained his consciousness.

All he remembered was a message implanted into his mind by a mysterious force.

"Wait for him if you want revenge."
