Jiang Chen decided to learn all low level skills before going home. He was sure others would have learned a skill or two after entering Martial Disciple stage.
Jiang Chen have seven skills of mortal rank he can't learn them all like he learned Weaponry Skills.
Weapons skills he learned is not under the influence of either heavenly energy or Attribute energy ,it only relied on his physical skills which are steadily tempered with repeated practice. But Martial Techniques are different compared to them. For martial techniques you need to use both heavenly energy and attribute energy in sync for perfect execution of techniques. Jiang Chen can use heavenly energy freely as he stressed himself on it even before he reached Body tempering stage by repeatedly circulating heavenly energy inside his body. The flow of his heavenly energy is almost equal to that of a Martial Fighter. There was no problem in his controlling heavenly energy but main problem lies with Attribute energy. He has used fire energy to burn while experimenting on consumption rates but that was just a crude method of its application. Both alchemists and blacksmiths use pure fire attribute energy in making pills and forging weapons but that is not suitable for a fight it would simply exhaust all the energy in matter of few moves.
So utilization of heavenly energy is key .
So most of the Martial techniques use heavenly energy as fuel and attribute energy as the igniter.
In the atmosphere heavenly energy is highly adaptable and transfers in the form of attribute energy but it is not as strong as pure attribute energy formed in dantian. So most of the martial techniques are complex methods on how to convert this energy to form of desire and mixture of ratio of heavenly energy to attribute energy.
The ratio should also be properly maintained or else it would either drain energy faster or decrease the power of the original move. This ratio depends on the cultivator based on their control to heavenly energy so there is a large difference between the moves performed by a Disciple and a fighter(I guess I should change name to artist here ,fighter is looking more crude).
Jiang Chen decided to go for Fiery Fist technique first as it was a fist technique and he could more easily adapt and learn on control of the technique than weapon skill.
Fiery Fist technique as name suggested is a fire attribute fist technique. It is a medium grade Mortal rank technique it has total seven moves. Burning Fist , Blazing fist ,Blasting fist , Fiery hammer fist , fiery rain , fiery eruption and True fiery fist. Burning fist ,blazing fist and blasting fist were fundamental moves and remaining four are advanced concepts. When one learned True fiery fist to grand perfection they can even kill a martial general in one hit ,it is different topic whether they hit first. For now Jiang Chen can only learn first three moves burning fist, blazing fist and blasting fist.
Jiang Chen slowly coated his fists with heavenly energy. Jiang Chen didn't make any calculations on how much energy he should use that will depend on cultivator so manual doesn't mention it.
Jiang Chen roughly coated over hundred strands of heavenly energy and observed his fists .It was not first time he is coating heavenly energy to coat his fists but he never added attribute energy to it.
The first move Burning fist also have over twenty postures in it they were not complex but they are ways to increase the strength of the fist. These twenty postures Jiang Chen practiced for the whole day he has employed all the knowledge he learned in sword drawing and other arts. He didn't use any of the fire energy for two days and perfected those twenty stances. Now the next step was assimilating fire into it. The timing of ignition is very important for this. The full force of the fist is when the combustion reach its peak so you should plan on when to apply the attribute energy. Too much attribute energy into the mix will lead for early combustion and little will lead to late combustion so we will not be able to use full force in either case.
Jiang Chen after perfecting all the twenty postures was able to identify the optimal heavenly energy he can use for burning fist. To much heavenly energy is just wasting your heavenly energy. Now all he has to do is perfect the triggering. Jiang Chen started practicing the burning fist by igniting the energy he soon realized that his ignition was too slow and he has to increase the attribute energy.
Jiang Chen repeated the experiment again but this time his timing was little too fast and fist reached end before.
He repeated it again and again he always found some mistake repeating either his energy was low,or his triggering was slow or some way the problem persisted.
After several attempts he was able to find the right combination for all three timing, heavenly energy and attribute energy. He was able to get the maximum of Burning fist in all the twenty stances these are the basic fighting stances that most people will employ while fighting. At the end of four days he was able to reach small perfection in burning fist.
Blazing Fist was an extension of burning fist as the combustion is outward causing more impact to it it has similarly fifteen stances and these stances were different from stances employed in burning fist and this one follows different analogy too. Its power is also double that of burning fist.
It took him almost a month to perfect three moves of the Fiery fist he has reached small perfection in both burning and blazing fist and one thread distance away to reach small perfection he would be reaching it after few more attempts of fifth stance of blasting fist. Blasting fist like the name suggested gives a huge blast at impact but also a heavy consumer.
Jiang Chen can use burning fist over three hundred times before he burn all his fire attribute energy,
while he can use blazing fist for over 30 times and blasting fist can only employed thrice .
Jiang Chen came to a good combination while employing these three moves.
After practicing Fiery fist for a month Jiang Chen shifted his attention to second technique.
He choose second skill of fire attribute blazing son .
Blazing Sun technique was sword technique and a medium grade mortal technique similar to fiery fist as it have 7 moves in it Jiang Chen realized all mortal techniques have seven moves in it.
Blade of east ,Blade of west , Blade of the noon , Blade of eclipse, Blade of twin pearls , Behemoth be header ,Apocalyptic sun .
Jiang Chen slowly read through the book and understanding it. It is more powerful than the fist techniques .Fist techniques are easy to learn and are more easily available. Jiang Chen while reading this technique how different it was from the fiery fist technique.
Unlike the fist technique which stressed on point of impact and peak of the combustion . Here stress was on steady burning of heavenly energy and maintain the sharpness . There were only 8 stances in first step Blade of east. eight stances were very different from each other. The blade of east is based on the sun rise and how it stimulates the atmosphere with it.
The blade of east not just tries to use its own heavenly energy but to resonate with the heavenly energy available in atmosphere.
Reading this only one thought came in mind of Jiang Chen "How is it a medium rank mortal technique. The concept is too profound." Jiang Chen for a moment thought would it be possible for him to do it . If he can do it it would be tyrannical. He will not just be controlling his own heavenly energy but influencing surroundings too. If he could perfectly practice these three moves he was sure he could form sword qi in no time.
Jiang Chen understood that he would not be able to learn this move in similar fashion to fiery fist technique which perfected with practice but now it relied more on his comprehension.
Jiang Chen slowly sat down on the ground and started meditating and observing the surrounding heavenly energy day and night the more he meditated the more he was engrossed in the comprehension. He changed his daily routine from then on he would at day he would meditate on sun and night he would meditate on moon.
He was practicing both Blazing Sun technique and white mist technique.
White mist technique was similar to Blazing sun except the resonance changed to imposing.
Like winter imposes its nature White mist techniques stresses on imposing its nature to the surroundings .It is almost like suppression of heavenly energy. It was even more tyrannical than the Blazing sun technique.
(Unlike other two it did not name its moves , Jiang Chen made a guess that each step would depend on ones comprehension.)
By practicing both moves simultaneously Jiang Chen slowly made a steady progress in understanding the concept of heat and cold ,warmth and freshness . He understood once he comprehended both the concepts it will only take a day or so to learn first three moves of both techniques.
As the sun rose there was a youth standing on banks of the pond he was holding two long swords on each of his hands each sword is covered by contrasting auras one was imposing coldness while other was resonating the blazing heat. Two auras are fighting against each other continuously that surrounding heavenly energy has become unstable and was about to be exploded.
It has been five months since Jiang Chen started practicing both White mist and Blazing sun techniques he has reached comprehension few weeks back and was able to reach small perfection in all three steps couple of weeks back . Jiang Chen was so attracted to the two extremities of both concepts that he was trying to use them together simultaneously. He has made a little progress in it but he was satisfied with it.
Suddenly Jiang Chen moved his swords in a particular rhythm pointing to a tree in the front . As taken a none both the contrasting attributes simultaneously fell up on the tree as tree collapsed unable to comply both the attributes as its trunk god burned several places while froze in some other and then followed by burned parts being frozen and frozen parts burned. Jiang Chen was trying to make a cycle of two but he was not able to accomplish it as he was not able to harmonize them together.
Jiang Chen has reached small perfection in three moves of fiery fist techniques, blazing sun and white mist technique. Jiang Chen was not planning to learn any new techniques sooner and this dual attribute move of Ice and fire was not reaching any stability. So Jiang Chen decided to go home and wait for opportunities to make further progress.
He has already reached 4th stage of Martial Disciple his heavenly energy reserve was increased to
1,640,000 strands and his attribute energy reserve improved to 45000 strands ,even though his Attribute energy reserves improved his consumption for entering the heavenly palace was still half .It takes 20000 strands now to enter the palace. He was not able to understand the reason for it. He was hoping that with increase in space attribute energy he could enter Natal Palace more but he was disappointed.
As the sun raised Jiang Chen took bath in the pond for the final time and then prepared to return home.
As Jiang Chen was leaving this place he felt as if loosing something it has been six years since he came here he . It was his home for six years this six years were not that comfortable to him but his gains in this place were extraordinary and Jiang Chen knew once he left this place he may not get chance to come here again. He packed everything he possessed and moved them to his natal palace. His Aunt had left him many materials for forging and other things he may need in the future which Jiang Chen separated and already placed them in the palace.
Slowly he activated his movement technique and left that place he had a long journey ahead.
Almost after half a day of journey he reached the front gate of River-spring city.
The atmosphere there was very fresh and lot of buzz going on Jiang Chen what was going on today was the day of Initiation Ceremony and all kids were trying to test their luck today.
Jiang Chen slowly walked to the only black smith store in the town owned by his father ,he found his father forging a halberd deeply engrossed in it he even failed to notice Jiang Chen coming inside. He could sense a strange connection with this man he always felt deep love for this man who was his father but this feeling increased several fold when he got to know truth , he never let Jiang Chen feel that he was not his son he always treated him as his own .
Jiang Chen "Father I am home." Jiang Chen spoke softly .
Hearing this words Jiang Yue suddenly felt his hammer slipping from his hand as the voice of his son reached him he raised his head to see a handsome youth standing in front of him . He was over 6 feet tall he could see well toned muscles behind his clothing . Face was perfectly cut and very sharp.
