"Edeen! Edeen!" Groaning at the voice I mentally wish them away wanting to sleep more. "Edeen!" The voice snaps at me.
"What do you want Cecilie." Automatically answering her as if it's a normal thing before realizing she's come back to me. "Cecilie thank the goddess I've missed you!" I mentally squeal at her.
"Yes, yes I'm glad you missed me. Now bitch I've been yelling at you for what seems like hours. Tell me what happened while I was out." I can feel her mentally pushing at the walls I have around my memory trying to figure out what happened to us. Sighing I let her into the memories of what happened after she was suppressed from the wolfsbane. The meeting of Keelyn and what she told me about the Jackal character and anything else that happened in the short time.
"Damn, I'm sorry Edeen," she mutters after learning what all had transpired.
I was getting ready to tell her it was okay when I was interrupted by a door slamming open. A horrible stench seeps into the room and I instantly place what, not what but who the smell belongs to, Jackal.
"Ah, I'm paying my future favorite mutt a visit. I'm sorry for my outburst the other day, if it wasn't for that mishap I would already have you in the pits. Sadly, I need that disgusting wolf of yours here to do that." he rambles. It takes all I have to control Cecilie from making an outburst and sending us to an early grave, but somehow I'm managing. Jackal continues on talking about, but at this point, I'm ignoring him, I'm too focused on my damn wrists boiling from the silver wrapped around them. Groaning, I try and shift my position from sitting against the wall to stand.
"Sit back down mutt," he commands as soon as I start listening to him again.
"I would if my wrists weren't being made into a nice bloody soup over here asshole, " I sneer.
"Watch your mouth, I control if you die today Edeen. But seeing as I'm in a good mood today I'll send the healing mutt in here to spruce you up a bit."
Sighing, I assume that's the best I'll get, but I'll take it. Biting my tongue so I don't say any remarks to anger him I listen to him ramble more simply nodding and bowing my head in agreement. Eventually, a young hunter comes in and tells him something even my wolf hearing couldn't pick up on. Whatever it was must've been important as he abruptly stated he'd be back for me when my wolf was back, called for Keelyn and dashed off.
Possibly five minutes later of me staring at the blank concrete wall Keelyn bursts into the room, excitement essentially coming off her in waves. As she practically runs over to me, I notice she has her handy kit from yesterday, but that doesn't stop her eyes from screaming curiosity about what she asked yesterday. "Tell me, and tell me now, " she almost demanded.
I mentally prepared myself for this talk, but something isn't settling with me correctly. How is this girl allowed to be free without any chains other than the collar that's around her neck? Will she go into the fighting pit when she shifts? Shaking my head and putting the thoughts at the back of my mind for the moment I finally answer her. "You wanted to know what a mate is like, right?" she nods her head at my question as she begins treating the burn wounds around my wrist best as she could with the silver still being there. Being as she's a werewolf as well she has a leather glove she's wearing so it won't scorch her as well. "Well, it's wonderful. I wasn't fully mated, only marked so I can only tell you what I know." My mark on my left side of my neck has my silver wolf and Wyatt's black wolf howling at the moon and their tails being wrapped over each other. The word Wyatt's written delicately under the image. "We knew instantly we were mates, yet at that stage, we only felt a pull to each other which got stronger the more time we spent together. He marked me the day after we met and our bond instantly got stronger, we began to be able to feel each other's emotions." A small smile plays on my lips remembering him.
"Your mate isn't here, though. Why's that?" She inquires.
"He isn't a part of my pack, actually we both are of alpha blood. After a long discussion between my father and him, it was decided I'd move in with Wyatt and become his Luna. That was supposed to happen today." I trail off noticing what I just said. Today was the day I was supposed to begin my life with my mate, sadness floods into my heart making itself known. Tears beat at the gates of my eyes, but I refuse to let them run loose. To get my mind off of it all I decide to ask her the questions I had in my head a moment earlier. Her answers seemed logical she's been here for a while and slowly gained his trust, she keeps the collar on simply because he said as soon as she shifts she'll be thrown into the pits as well. The mention of the pits allows fear to crawl into my body as I ask her my next question.
"My wolf is back. What does that mean for me?"
She looks me in the eyes and something flashes across her vision before she answers me, "you'll be thrown into the fighting pit when Master gets back." My mouth makes an o-shape, I knew that would happen. I was just hoping for a different answer.
Eventually, Keelyn gets the wounds treated the best she could and leaves. She apologized to me because she said she'd have to inform Jackal of my wolf coming back. I was upset with her at first, but I realized that was selfish. Sighing and waiting for my inevitable doom I go back to sleep. Hell, it's all I can do in this situation.
