Chapter 3: The Insane Man

Staring at the werewolf that hunts his own kind the feeling of disgust radiate in my chest. While staring, I finally notice his appearance he has a crooked nose, big brown eyes, thin lips, bushy eyebrows and is cleanly shaven with a glove on one hand.

My mind goes back to the words previously said, fighting. What was meant? There is no way in hell am I going to willingly join whatever this guy is planning. Considering he's a rogue could it be to attack packs? He does have hunters under his wing after all. Does he have some hidden agenda?

"Why am I here? Why didn't you let me die?" I croak, the metallic taste of blood still lingering in my mouth as I speak. I don't want to be here. He destroyed my pack, my family. Worst of all I'm miles from my mate, the attack happened a day ago, meaning I was supposed to move in with his pack Rushing Rivers tomorrow. Without our mate or pack my wolf side will slowly go insane, although she's not friendly she's a social creature. Being deprived of pack hood and social interactions we'd eventually snap and go psychotic, losing the ability to ever shift back into a human.

"*That won't happen to us, will it?*" Cecilie whines at the thought of losing ourselves. I simply mentally shake my head as my answer, I honestly don't know what will happen. My experience with rogues is minimal and even if I ever happened across one it'd be put out of its misery swiftly. All I'm aware of is the fact they no longer think clearly.

"You'll see soon. As for why I kept you alive. . ." He ponders his choice of words for a moment before continuing, " I thought you seemed like a good play toy. I have your wolf to thank for keeping you alive before we brought you here." He chuckles, one that would vibrate the chest if you were to feel it.

Grimacing as the color fades from my face at his use of the word play toy I hang my head. Cecilie growls and slowly pushes her way into the front of my mind, my vision fades to black.

Edeen's green eyes flicker to the red and pale blue colors signaling that I've taken over. I laugh in triumph as a faint look of shock crosses Jackal's face, as I lift my head to make eye contact.

"What's up doc?" I cackle.

Jakal stands there for a moment before finding his voice. "Erm... I take it you're her wolf?" Weird he seems sincere, I don't buy it.

"Yes, Jakal the asshole." I snarl. Tugging on my chains I look at them for the first time, Edeen refuses to acknowledge the situation were in I on the other hand will. The chains on my wrist shine a bright silver, barley loose enough so they dont cut my circulation off. My wrists are raw, to the point blood has been dripping down my arms.

Rage floods across his face as my words absorb into his ears. His face slowly being a shade of red as he spits at me. "It's Master to you mutt!" He shouts his voice slowly becoming louder as he continues, "I have worked myself up from an outcast to the top of the werewolf hunter domain. I am the king above your head. And I will be addressed as such."

"You're a rogue," I state as a matter of fact.

"I am not a rogue!" Screaming, he quickly pulling off the glove that's on his hand he displays his claws that are laced in a substance. Before I can register what it is he drags his claws down my right arm, a burning sensation takes over my arm and starts spreading through my body. Struggling not to let screams escape my body, I realize what this feeling is.

Silver and wolfsbane.

I scream feeling myself fade.

My body aches, and I can't hear Cecilie. Reluctantly I open my eyes. Drunkenly I look around the room, it appears I'm alone. I feel a constant sting on my right arm, the pain almost unbearable as it's a mix of a third-degree burn and a broken arm. Cautiously I look over to my arm, blood stains the entirety of it the shade of a blood moon, the wound refusing to seal. The memories of Cecilie taking over flood into my mind. "Cecilie you dumbass," I mutter. She just doesn't know when to hold her tongue.

I know if the wolfsbane is not treated quickly it'll set an infection and cause my healing to slow even more than the silver already has. Taking a closer look at the wound I notice it's still bleeding, I'd rip my shir- wait. . . .

I've been so caught up in what was going on I didn't even bother to check and see if I have clothes on. Remembering that when we shift to our wolves and back were completely naked. Quickly I look down and assess my appearance.

I'm wearing a plain navy blue t-shirt that's one size too big, with baggy black sweatpants. I sigh in relief realizing that I haven't been nude this entire time.

Sighing I lean back against the icy cold wall as comfortably as I can, considering my neck has a silver collar and my wrists are constrained with silver as well. Both are attached to the wall keeping me firmly in place. "I'm going to die In here," I whisper to myself as I close my eyes.

"No, you're not." A soft womanly voice speaks up.
