Chapter 33: Chapter 33 (Third person POV)
As the three of them finished talking the time had come for the prince's part. Despite being worried that Raijin might do something unexpected once again, Seiji trusted him with everything he had. When asked by the two girls what was going to happen now, the young demon king hesitated to answer as he knew that his companion, Ignea, would not agree with this part of his plan. For the last decade he had planed every detail of his revenge and now the gears were about to be put in motion, he could not let anyone stand in the way of his plan nor could he let himself stray from the path he had chosen.
A decade ago, in the last holy war, his parents died and he became the king. The hate he harbored was not because he lost his parents but because his younger sister lost them. If he were to have been an only child, this day may have never come, he would have been content with killing Alastair alone.
It was common knowledge for the people of this world that the last holy war was mostly a battle between humans and demons, with other races like dragons and beast-men just taking parts in a few battles here and there. What most people don't know is the presence of a third race that played a great role in that war.
The divine race, gods and angels, the beings that stand at the very top of the command chain in this universe, they were also part of the holy war. While Yafrenia's only allies were Odrax and a few small beast-men nations, the rulers of the human race fought as puppets of the divine race, with heroes that had their blessing being born. It was a total mayhem. After the war, being defeated Yafrenia lost more than half of it's land and the queen of Odrax was executed in the public eyes by her own husband, the current king. Back then, Odrax was a matriarchal nation, that meant that the queen held more power than the king but now it became just another kingdom like the many others.
Raijin had witnessed the death of his mother before his eyes, her last words being directed to him,
"Take care of yourself", that was the moment Raijin changed. He lost his mind and for a few years not even Seiji could approach him, later in his teens we once again gained control over his emotions and joined Seiji in his plan to enact revenge.
Now it is the time the two of them had been waiting for so long, the start of their plan. Once Raijin becomes king of Odrax, they will make their push into the territory of Narkis. Yafrenia will get it's territories back and gain Danzig and Raijin's mother will have been avenged. With this both Yafrenia and Odrax will regain their past glory and the first member of the divine race will fall.
