Chapter 24: Or else what?

Li Luxian had still not arrived. Chen Yi silently read the menu with a faint smile displaying on her pouty lips. Her chocolate brown hair was tied in an intricate hairstyle with a few strands hanging loosely in front of her ears. Her jade-like face was flawless resembling that of a pretty porcelain doll. Her features were distinct and the people's eyes couldn't elude that bewitching lure in her temperament.

She was sitting in the VIP table that retained a little privacy but she could still hear the faint noises caused by Lin Min at some distance.

"Waiter! Come here right now!" Lin Min was arrogant.

"Yes, miss?" A waiter responded to her call in a professional, reverent tone.

"I want to see the assistant manager right now!" Lin Min demanded like she was a very important guest. That poor waiter almost jumped at the malice her tone held.

"Miss. is there any problem?" That waiter was a little terrified. If that bad-tempered woman had some problem with their service, his assistant manager would sure give him a hard time.

"Since when did the standards of this restaurant fell this low that it started allowing beggars to VIP tables?"

Out of all the things, what aggravated Lin Min the most was the fact that Chen Yi was sitting in a VIP table. The VIP table of this restaurant cost not only a huge sum of money but a family name. She had once wanted to book it to flaunt her money in friends but she was unable to. They told that only the important CEOs or presidents could get a reservation and it was the company's rule. She could hardly book a normal table and that after a month-long waiting. Her jealousy peaked once finding that person Chen Yi she looked down upon enjoying that privilege. How could that bit*h Chen Yi afford it?

Her closest speculation was that Chen Yi must have seduced someone of the management staff of this restaurant. Or else how could she enter the VIP table?

What did that vixen had other than her looks?

Lin Min herself could only enter this restaurant using her father's name. Without the name of a prominent respectful family, no matter how much money her sugar daddy threw at her, she couldn't enter.

"What beggar?" That poor waiter was puzzled.

That restaurant only allowed those guests that had a prominent background. Its security was tight and it double-checked the list of those who were let in.

"Her!" Lin Min pointed in Chen Yi's direction. "How could a who*e like her sit at the VIP table? What has happened to the restaurant service? "

The waiter's eyes followed the direction of Lin Min's fingers and his face paled. Wasn't it the lady that Mr. Li brought? The manager of the restaurant had himself come to receive them. How could she, of all the people, be a beggar?

"Miss you are mistaken" That waiter tried to be as polite as possible. "That lady had been invited in after being confirmed by our..."

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Lin Min was getting impatient. " You people must have made a mistake. I know her better than any of you. Do you want to lose your job? I say bring the assistant manager here right now!"

That waiter realized that the matter was out of control and he couldn't reason with that crass woman. So he quickly scurried away and brought the assistant manager.

"Is there a problem miss?" The assistant manager was very professional.

"Yes, there is." Lin Min said haughtily expecting her words to be taken seriously. She was good at exploiting her father's name. Even if her paternal family never showed any interest in her for being the illegitimate daughter, in the outside world she always acted like she was the adored and cherished eldest miss of the Lin family. "I want you to throw that lowborn out of this restaurant right now."

That assistant manager paused for a moment. He glanced at the VIP table where he could see that bewitching woman Mr. Li had brought and he could even discern a faint smile on her tender lips.

"Miss I'm sorry I can't do that."

Lin Min was taken by surprise. Did that petty manager just reject her?

"Why can't you?" Her voice held incredulity. "Don't you know who I'm? My father had invested so much in this restaurant and you would prefer a petty beggar over me?"

The matter was way too overboard now. Everyone was keenly listening to the fight. If now Lin Min failed to throw her out, she would lose her face. So Lin Min couldn't give up. She was desperate while on the other hand, Chen Yi's temperament was calm and impassive like the matter had nothing to do with her at all. It further maddened Lin Min.

"Miss we are only following the manager's instructions" The assistant manager tried to control her outburst. He wanted to resolve the issue without offending any party.

Blinded with anger, frustration, and being taken lightly Lin Min blurted out.

"So it is you." Her face distorted as if a great revelation dawned on her. "You have been the one seduced by her. Haven't you?" She continued to throw her tantrum. "Or else how could she reserve a place in this restaurant?" The fact that Chen Yi was sitting alone meant she was here alone. That only meant she had reserved the table on her own.

A slight chuckle escaped Chen Yi's lips as she shook her head. Was there no end to Lin Min's stupidity? But whatever it was, it served as a great source of amusement for Chen Yi. The time without Li Luxian would have been boring otherwise.

"I'm telling you. Throw her out of here right now or else..."

"Or else what?" A grave voice was heard.
