At daybreak Eunuch Yu the Prince's Eunuch knocked gently on the door to the nuptial chamber. He stood by the door to inform the couple that it was daybreak.

A few minutes later she was set and was escorted out to the carriage. where Prince Xi waited to escort Her to the palace.
The sedan got in the palace through the main gate before going through the inner gate which led to the inner palace. for members of the royal family.
The Private quarters of the Emperor and members of the Imperial Haram were located at the inner palace. The cold palace was also located deep inside the inner palace.
The sedan was only allowed to the guard post, where the Prince and Princess consort Xi got down and headed to the Hall of Beautiful Gracie, the Empress dowager's palace where the morning greetings are to be held.
"Prince Xi and Princess consort Xi has arrived" Eunuch Su announced as they arrived at the entrance.
The couple on arrival, walked to the Empress dowager's throne, cupping their hand, got on their knees and said
"Greetings Imperial grandmother"
The Empress dowager who was seated on her throne smiled and said
"get up Liu'er and Xiao Ting, don't stand on ceremony"
the couple smiling and replied
"thank you, your majesty"
"A new branch of the royal family has been forming and my heart is now warm, I welcome Xiao Ting to our family and bless their union, by gifting Xiao Ting some herbal tea and Jingxing"
The Empress dowager said with a smile and signaled her servants to present the gifts. The servant carried the gifts in a tray and presented it to Fang Xiao Ting who quickly kneeled and said
"Many Thanks, Imperial grandmother Xiaoting appreciates the gifts"
The Empress dowager chuckling replied "silly girl, get up "
Fang Xiao Ting got up and together with Prince Xi turned to face the Empress, kneeled, cupping their hands gave their readings
"Greetings imperial mother"
"Xiao Ting is now my daughter, Liu'er please treat her well. Ye Mama gift Xiao Ting with the Jade Bangles and rogue"
Xiao Ting kneeled and thanked the Empress before she was directed by Prince Xi towards where the crown Prince and princess sat standing and bowing the chorused
"Greetings imperial Elder brother and sister"
The crown prince stood, raising his goblet replied
"may you have a good and fruitful marriage"
The crown princess also stood up raising her goblet to make they had a toast.
The Empress dowager with a full smile said
"Xiao Ting is still young and will need our guidance"
"we will abide" the other members of the royal family replied.
After making their greetings Prince Xi and Fang Xiao Ting headed to their seat next to the crown Prince and Princess consort.
Members of the royal family always sat by seniority, the Emperor was the head of the family and sat at the royal throne when present.
The Empress dowager sat by the Emperor's left as the oldest member of the family and the official wife of the former Emperor. The Empress sat at the Emperor's right.

The Empress directed the servants and members of the Imperial Harem, she was in charge of selecting members of the Haram and controlled the Financial of the Imperial Royal palace and Haram.
The Empress served as the mother of the nation and role model for the female population.
After the Empress the Imperial Noble Consort was the next in the power rank, She assisted the Empress In her duties.
The Noble Consort was the next in the power rank and a maximum of three Noble Consort's was allowed for an Emperor. Only high-ranking Noble ladies were given the title or the mother of the crown prince.
Members of the Imperial Haram of the past Emperor apart from the Empress dowager are allowed to reside in their son's homes as monarch and if childless were retired to the monastery to pray for the Emperor and guard his grave.
Children of the past Emperor were given titles and Manors that though hereditary reduce in rank at each generation, outside the Palace, and the male children were given government positions.
The female children were also given titles and Manors. They remained members of the Imperial Royal family even in the dead of their father or husband.
Though life in the royal family was tough, many still desired Entrance for wealth and glory even though short-lived.
