Chapter 26: THE STORM SIBLINGS
Five minutes later, Kal was standing in front of the entrance to Empire State University ( ESU) with a hot dog in one hand, a taco in the other and a large soda floating next to him which had him get a lot of attention at the gate.
People were giving him a variety of looks. Some were fascinated by what they saw, others fearful and a few who were even jealous.
Kal didn't care for the looks because to him, they were just extra's playing forgettable roles in his life.
He looked at the sign to the university and smile, "university, can't wait to give it a try."
The main reason he came here wasn't because Tony wanted to show him off to Reed, but because he wanted to get in to a university and see what the university life felt like.
True with Kal's intelligence, he didn't need to attend school unless he was a Professor teaching, but he wanted to experience the university life, and it wasn't like he had anything major to do in his life right now.
"Hey, how are you doing that?" someone suddenly asked.
Kal turned to his left and spot a handsome blonde blue eyed haired teenager looking at him.
"It's called telekinesis."
"Awesome, so you can move things with my mind….I wish I could do that" the blonde hair man replied.
Kal and his knowledge in genetics knew it was possible to do some creative gene editing and grant anybody abilities, but he wasn't generous enjoy to just go around give people abilities.
"Oh by the way my name is Johnny, nice to meet you" Johnny added.
"Kal El, I would shake your hand but my hands a kinds busy right now"
"I can see, a hot dog and taco…does it work"
Kal nodded his head with a smile, "the softness of the hot dog and the crunchiness of the taco just come together and ….I love it"
Kal then took a bite from the hotdog and then the taco with a big smile on his face enjoy the soft and crunchiness plus the flavours mixing.
Johnny chuckled, "I can see that"
"So were you born with your powers?" he asked
"Nope, they kinda developed later in life after I left my home planet" Kal replied.
Johnny began laughing, "Home planet...are you so kind of alien?" he asked jokingly.
"Yes I am" Kal replied.
Johnny stepped back, "really?" he asked
"Yes"
"Are you the same kind that attacked New York?"
"Nope I am the kind that was with the Avengers stopping the attack"
"Oh so you are like Thor?"
"Sure, I did come to earth with him" Kal replied.
Johnny sighed, it wasn't another invasion.
After swallowing his latest bite of his breakfast, Kal asked "Is your second name by any chance Storm"
Johnny nodded his head, "Johnny Storm, why do you ask?"
On hearing Johnny's full name, Kal accessed Johnny's memories to see if had been baptised in cosmic rays to create the Human Torch, and found that Johnny wasn't yet powered.
"Your eyes remind me of someone" Kal replied after his quick mind probe.
"Ahh, you mean my sister Susan Storm the semi-famous board way actress. I didn't thing aliens would be interested in plays"
Kal smiled, "I was just passing by and I saw her act by chance" he replied yet in truth, he didn't even know that Susan Storm was an actress in this world.
"So you here for the tour, why didn't you say so, I am here as well for the campus tour."
Kal had question marks floating above his head, "what do you mean by tour?"
"It's when ESU opens its gates to the public so that people can see the campus in all its awesomeness and also see where they wouldn't be able to attend study no matter how much they read"
"Why can't they attend?" Kal asked
"It because ESU only takes natural geniuses, the kind that think outside the box and not people who just cram knowledge in school and reproduce what they learnt."
Kal looked at the entrance to the university and smiled, "then this place is for me"
"So then let's head in" Johnny said.
Inhaling what was let of his hotdog, taco and drink, Kal followed Johnny and walked in to the campus.
As they walked towards the meeting point for the campus tour Johnny asked, "So I guess you aren't worried the government will come and take you for experimentations."
Kal laughed, "Trust me when I say they are honoured that I choose to walk on this planet"
Johnny looked at Kal while he thought, "man this dude is definitely a narcissist and yet I still think he is such a cool guy"
As Kal and Johnny slowly approached the meeting area which was water fountain, Kal noticed that the area was crowded with a lot of people, 18 to be more precise, and growing.
"I didn't expect a lot of people to be here for the campus tour two weeks after the alien invasion" Kal said.
"For normal universities that may be, but ESU is different. People who graduate from here all move on to do great things."
Kal gave Johnny a sideways glance before saying "You seem to love this university a lot, you give it a lot of praise"
"I have to or my sister will kill me" Johnny replied.
"Oh come on Johnathan, I am not all that bad" a female voice suddenly said from behind then.
Kal and Johnny both turned to the person that had spoken to then.
Johnny saw his big sister that had the power of life and death over him while Kal saw what could only be described as are very beautiful woman.
She had blonde hair and blue eyes combined with a gorgeous figure creating man killer that would turn heads everywhere she went, like it was at that moment with every male looking at her and wondering to which devil they would have to sacrifice their souls to have this woman spit in there face.
"Sis, I didn't expect to see you here"
"I came to make sure that you were taking a chance at higher education in ESU seriously"
Johnny laughed nervously, "I promised I would come, so I came" he replied.
Susan looked away from her brother then at Kal who was standing next to him and was amazed at what she saw. He was a triple threat, tall, dark and handsome.
And to top it all off he wasn't like every other guy she meet in that he didn't look at her with eyes that wanted to undress her on the spot.
"My name is Kal El" Kal said as he extended his arm.
To which Susan responded by receiving his hand shake and replying "My name is Susan Storm, Johnathan's sister and also really single"
After her introduction she quickly thought to herself, "Shit, why did I put emphasis on the fact that I was single..."
Kal smiled showing his perfect sparkling white teeth, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Susan"
