Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Confusion
Nice's POV
While making some decorations for the booth I suddenly go out, to get some fresh air and when I got out , a minute after that her grandpa came, he was surprised to see me at their house, so he ask me why I'm here and I explain to him everything. As we came inside I saw Kasey having fun with Vincent. I don't know but in some way it irritates me. Tch. what's this, I don't understand myself, it was much more harder to understand than a math equation.
"Hey, Nice baka naman matunaw na sila Vincent sa titig mo!" pang-aasar ni James.
"They look good together, right?" gatong naman ni Kris.
"tch, ewan!,... Tara na nga tapusin na natin to para maka uwi na tayo"
"selos ka lang eh!!!" they say in chorus
"Selos?!.. Ako!!.. No way!!!" depensa ko
"bago kayo umuwi, dito na kayo maghapunan, since andito na rin naman kayo" Kasey's grandfather said as he got down from their second floor maybe from his room.
"dito na po sila magdi-dinner lolo, nagpaluto na po ako ng madami, diba?" Kasey said as she came towards us with Vincent beside her.
And since they insisted it, we've got no choice but to accept their offer besides nakakahiya naman kung tatanggihan namin. Then after we ate dinner we say our goodbye.
The next day, the day before the School Fest, we're almost ready to serve, maayos na ang booth, ang flowers at yung menu's na lang ang kulang, and we're ready. And since maaga na natapos ang booth we got some time to relax and go back to our practices for tomorrows match.
"GUYS!, I forgot to tell you all, we need a candidate for Mr and Ms School Fest!" our class representative told us.
"WHAT?!" all of us said in chorus
"I'm really sorry, I forgot to tell you because we're all occupied in preparing for the match and booth for tomorrow, I'm really sorry" he said, halatang tumakbo pa sya paunta rito sa classroom, hingal na hingal pa sya.
"What are we going to do now?" Claude said worriedly
"I've got an idea!, why don't you Kasey and Nice represent our class?" Cherry said with a very playful and evil smile on her face
"Huh?, are you kidding!" both of us said
And then all of them nod as a respond so we can't say no to them, the whole class win, by majority. tch what a pain in the ass.
And that night na rin mismo ang contest of Mr and Ms School Fest, wala na kaming naging time para mag prepare pa at mag handa sa pageant na ito.
"we're done!" Cherry said as they got out from the dressing room for female candidates.
I never thought that she will turn out to be a beautiful young lady in just a minute. And what's this, why did I felt so nervous all of a sudden just after seeing her.
"Hey, Nice tulala lang!, maganda ba?" sabi ni Denise habang kinakaway ang kamay sa harapan ko
"huh?.. Pwede na!.. Pero naman!, bakit di nyo sinabi samin kanina na may talent portion pa!" pagdadahilan ko.
"tsk. kaya nyo na yun! Di ba Kasey?!" sabi ni Cherry habang tinatapik ako sa balikat ko.
"huh?,. Hmmm.. O-oo" mahinang sagot nya. Obviously kinakabahan sya.
"Aish!, ewan ko sa inyo, bakit ba kasi ako napasama dito sa kalokohan na to!" iritado at inis kong reklamo
"wag ka ng mag reklamo dude!.. Woah!, ang ganda mo Kasey, i'm sure mananalo ka" sabi ni Hanz as he look at her from head to toe.
"ay ewan ko sa inyo, Kasey tara na!" hinila ko na sya palayo sa kanila, nakakabanas lang na pinag titinginan sya mula ulo hanggang paa, nakaka pang-init ng ulo.
"o-oo" he just responded.
"binabalaan kita wag na wag kang magkakamali mamaya, kung ayaw mong matalo ang class natin!" babala ko sa kanya, I know kinakabahan at naiilang sya.
"o-oo, I will do my best!" she said with a bright smile, hiding her nervousness away.
The more I look closer to her, the more I see her beauty, her beautiful smile, her eyes, her soft skin and her sweet voice.
HUH?, w-what's this, why I am being like this!, what's this kind of feeling, and why am I nervous just being with her?. I don't get it at all, is there something wrong with me?.
Kasey's POV
What's this feeling,Why my heart beats so fast when Nice grabs my hand, my heart beats faster than it beats when I am with Vincent, does this mean that the one I like was Nice not Vincent?. A-and why does Nice seems sparkling when I look at him, his dazzling smile, his soft hands, his beautiful eyes, those eyelashes.. WAAAAHHH!, what am I thinking!..
"Hey, Kasey! Are you with us?" James ask tapping me on my shoulder,
"Huh?, bakit James?" wala sa sarili kong tanong
"tsk. Kanina ka pa kasi kami nagdadaldalan dito di ka naman pala nakikinig"
"pasensya na, ano ba yung pinag uusapan nyo?"
"wala yun, ito oh kumain ka na nga lang din!, let's celebrate dahil naging successful ang school fest, at ang booth natin ang nanalo tapos ang laki pa ng kinita natin, thanks to you, tapos kayo pa ni Nice ang nanalo sa Mr and Ms School fest." Hanz said.
I just nod as a reply.
Oo nga pala tapos na ang school fest at ngayon nasa class room kami kasama ng iba pa naming classmate para mag celebrate.
Then after an hour we decided to go home since gabi na and while on our way sa front gate ng school walang tigil sa pagha-harutan sila Hanz at Kris kaya ang ingay namin.
At habang naglalakad kami papunta sa gate ay tumunog ang phone ko.
"hello?.. NANI !!!?... Where are you?... Sa school gate?... Ok, just wait for me there...nandito na ako sa front gate ng school?.. Nasan ka?"
(translation: Nani means what)
"sino yang kausap mo sa phone at parang natataranta ka?" Vincent ask
"h-huh?.. Ah yung k-ku-"
"OI!, Kasey, I'm here!" my older brother shouted, cutting me off.
"Kei-Onii chan!" I shouted as I came closer to him and hug him.
(Onii-chan means older brother)
"Woah!" they said in chorus.
"Guys, this is Kei my ---"
"Let's go!, guys ako na pala ang maghahatid kay Kasey, It's nice meeting you all" my brother said and excused us, after he open the car door and push me inside.
Kaya naman wala na akong nagawa kundi ang sumakay tutal pauwi naman na ako.
Nice's POV
Sino kaya yung lalaking kasama ni Kasey, tch.. As if I care, pakialam ko ba kung sino ang kasama nya.. Arghh.. Ano ba tong nangyayari sa akin, bakit ba bawat galaw nya binabantayan ko at bakit ako naiinis.
"Hey, sa tingin nyo sino yung lalaking yun" James ask all of a sudden nang mawala na sa paningin namin ang kotse kung saan naroon si Kasey at yung lalakin aiyo na bigla na lamang sumulpot.
"baka naman boyfriend nya" Kris replied
Boyfriend?!, yun magka boyfriend?, imposible eh allergic nga ata yun sa lalaki eh, ma-akbayan lang galit na.
"pwede din, base on what we saw, they seem to be close" komento ni Vincent.
"But Kasey never mentioned to us that she has a boyfriend" -Denise
"kaya nga, baka naman close friend nya, childhood friend ganun" Cherry added.
"tch.. Mauna na ako" I said to them as soon as reach my motorbike.
What's the big deal about Kasey and that guy anyway.
"Oh!, what's this, Nice don't tell us you like Kasey?" Cherry said with a teasing tone.
"Huh?., Me? Had a crush on that girl, Me?, Nice Tolentino, impossible!"
"what's with that reaction, defensive, parang binibiro lang" Cherry said.
"Ewan ko sa inyo" then I left them there.
I'm not in the mood to tag along in their childish act.
