Chapter 26: I Challenge You To A Duel!

Axel walked over to the bank counter and replied,

"Yes, I have some gold pieces to deposit."

The lady at the counter desk was a middle aged woman in a nice brown blouse and neatly combed short hair. Although her outfit seemed very business oriented, it was hard to tell her actual age due to her well maintained skin and body.

"Please put the gold pieces in this wooden box on the right. Thank you for using the Emain Macha bank tonight. My name is Jocelin, and I hope to see you again sometime." Jocelin replied courteously.

Axel slowly took out the 10000 gold Baxtor gave him earlier. As he put it in the box, Jocelin took out 1000 gold for the depositing fee and took it away to put in the safe. At the same moment, Baxtor had gone over to the next bank counter over to retrieve an item as well.

"Hey Azel, I've got something for you!" Baxtor exclaimed.

"What is it?" Axel asked.

"This is a Linen Cuirass I used as a newbie adventurer in the old days. It's a bit beat up, but it should be usable for a while until you need to go to a blacksmith to get it fixed up." Baxtor replied.

Axel was slightly surprised by Baxtor's gift. A Linen Cuirass might have been a very low quality light armor made out of layers of hemp, it was perfect for Axel who had just started out as an adventurer. It had saved him from buying an armor as well, which usually costs around 30000 gold in most blacksmith shops.

"Thanks so much Mr. Baxtor!" Axel said as he gleefully smiled.

In a swift fashion, he put it in his inventory bag and this caught the suspicious stares of Baxtor.

"What the.... You have a dimensional bag? No wonder you were able to teleport like it was nothing!" Baxtor said in a loud whisper.

Not only did Baxtor find this surprising, all the other adventurers and bankers in the bank had caught an glimpse of what Axel had done and were dying of curiosity.

"What's wrong with having an inventory bag?" Axel asked.

"Let's get out of here first." Baxtor said as he pushed Axel out the bank entrance as if they were running from the scene of a crime.

...

When they had walked slightly to the east of the city, Axel asked,

"Well, can you tell me what's so interesting about my inventory bag now?"

"Are you kidding me? Usually only the royal magicians of the highest magical calibers have a dimensional bag. It's already bad enough that everyone in the bank saw you put the armor inside.... Well, what's done is done." Baxtor said in a rush.

Axel stood there in silence for a few seconds. The most basic inventory bag in the game of Mabinogi had become a legendary existence that only royal magicians in this world could use. He almost wanted to cry as this was the innate function of the game when a player opened their inventory space to store items. The road ahead seemed to be full of troubles. First it was a curse that turned him into a Incubus Overlord, and now a normal inventory bag had become a celebrity item.

"I can see that you've really lived as a hermit growing up.... It won't be long before the news of you having the dimensional bag spreads to the ears of the royal family of Emain Macha. Let's grab a few drinks and skedaddle first thing next morning!" Baxtor said.

Axel nodded his head in accordance and they both headed towards the Emain Macha pub.

As they entered into one of the streets away from the main street, there was a corner in an alley with two tall bodyguards stationed before the bar door. There was an extravagent wooden arch over the entrance to the door and on the side of the arch said,

"Bean Rua Pub"

"Stop right there! It's 1000 gold per person to enter!" one of the guard yelled as Axel tried to go inside.

"It's on me, here you go." Baxtor said as he passed 2000 gold to the guard.

Axel of course knew one needed 1000 gold per night to go inside this bar due to previously playing the game of Mabinogi. However in this world, it was a high end pub that was open to rich merchants, and people in high society. 1000 gold was not a small amount for normal citizens as it was enough for 2 week's worth of food.

As they went in the pub, a large chandelier came into the scene. A group of round tables were placed in a orderly fashion across the space near the exit of the pub. A bartender could be seen all the way towards the end of the room. Wiping a beer glass in hand, his dark long hair along with his neatly trimmed beard seemed to float over his tall stature.

"Hello my name is Lucas, and I run the Emain Macha pub. What would you two like to drink today?" Lucas asked.

"Get us a bottle of your finest Emain Macha wine!" Baxtor yelled as he sat down on one of the stools.

"Sure thing!" Lucas replied.

While waiting for the drinks, Axel walked around the pub and saw a beautiful young hostess with long red hair and dressed in a tight corset and a sexy black dress with her petite snow white shoulders exposed.

"Young man, would you like me to tell your fortune? I sense an auspicious air around you...." the hostess asked as she leaned slightly on the wall.

Right when Axel was about to walk over to her, a dashing young man with curly blond hair rushed in front of Axel suddenly and bumped Axel to the side.

"Ms. Rua, tell my fortune first!" the blond man asked sweetly as he bowed slightly.

"Young master Caleb, this fine young man in the the hooded robe was destined to see the wheels of fortune before you!" Rua lightly laughed as she walked over to Axel.

Seeing this gesture, Caleb gritted his teeth and angrily stared at Axel. Now that Axel was examining the young man carefully, he had an aristocratic's attire, an overall and pants decorated in holy white colors, and a number of frills around the cuffs and collar area.

Suddenly, Caleb briskly walked over in front of Axel, and put his arm in the air, blocking Rua from Axel.

"Scram, you commoner! Ms. Rua is attending to me tonight!" Caleb yelled.

"How about you get out of my face? You look like a fat white hen in those disgusting clothes!" Axel snapped back.

The moment the young blond man heard Axel's remark, he pulled out his long pointy rapier and placed it in front of him.

"My name is Caleb Walford of the Emain Macha Walford Baron Household and I challenge you to a duel in fencing!"
