Chapter 22: twins and infinity stones
"ok, Wanda how do you feel about stark after seeing him help during the New York invasion?"
Wanda was sitting in front of me while I readied a machine I built that would trigger her latent abilities by using the mind stone, I had decided that she would be the first of the twins to get their powers unlocked.
"I feel conflicted, while I know that it wasn't his fault that my parents died, and I know that he has changed and no longer makes weapons and instead he helps people, I can't help but hate him for what happened. I can at least say that I no longer want to kill him but don't expect me to work with him hmm."
at the end she pouted a little bit and looked very cute, I smiled at that glad that she had become comfortable enough with me that she could act like this.
"I'm glad that you have improved so much, and don't worry I would not have expected you to work with him unless there was a very dangerous situation, anyway this is ready, you might feel a slight burning sensation."
she nodded and I hit the button that triggered the machine, she was bathed in a yellow light with blue and green specs in it, the energy she was being bathed with was mostly from the mind stone but it also had a bit of space and time stone energy, I wanted to see what effects it would have on her abilities.
after the treatment was done I lead her to the testing room, the room was the size of four football fields put together and had a track going all the way around it, the actual field part had many workout machines and weights.
"alright Wanda I want you to feel that energy inside of you and bring it outside, try to do it in a controlled fashion though we don't want you to accidentally throw things around."
she nodded and then closed her eyes in concentration, she brought her hands together and then slowly pulled them apart a stream of red energy with purple streaks in it connected her hands together, she opened her eyes with a look of amazement on her face.
"this is awesome Jeremy, it feels so natural almost like I was born with this, can we try doing things, please? I think I have some Ideas on what I can do with this cool energy!"
she looked so excited that I didn't refuse her, not that you could have even if I wanted to. Wanda proceeded to push weights using waves of the energy, and by surrounding the weights in it she was able to lift them and was even able to crush one by comprising the energy around it, by expelling the energy from her hands she was able to hover but not fly until you digested that she just surrounds herself in the energy and lift herself, when she tried that she was able to fly around at surprisingly fast speeds. at one point during her flight, she almost crashed into one of the support beams when she accidentally teleported a few feet to the left missing it entirely, after that we found that she could teleport anything surrounded by her energy within a sixty-foot radius.
after five more hours of testing, she was tuckered out and decided to go to sleep, tomorrow we would be empowering Pietro and I was kind of looking forward to what changes his power would have if it was unlocked by using the space and time stone instead of the mind stone.

Pietro looked really excited when he entered the lab Wanda must have told him all about her powers and the knowledge that he was going to have some must have exited him. I asked Pietro the same question about Stark that I had asked his sister.
"well, you know... I'm still angry at him but I guess I kind of understand that he just made the weapons and that he wasn't really in control of how the people who bought them used the weapons, I guess I understand that he doesn't even make them anymore but I still can't completely forgive him you know?"
"I understand Pietro, I know most people in your position would find it impossible to forgive or forget something like that. anyway, we should get started, you might feel a small burning sensation."
after pulling a leaver Pietro was bathed in a blue and green light that had yellow specks in it, for Pietro I decided that the time and space stones would make a much better trigger than the mind stone, I still added some of the mind stone's energy but it was predominately the space and time stones.
I led him to the training room and asked him to search his body for some sort of energy, and if that failed to try and run around the track as fast as he could. Pietro closed his eyes a slight frown of concentration on his face, suddenly he was covered in transparent blue flames with green licks of flame at the end, Pietro opened his now yellow eyes and smiled at me, it seemed that these abilities were very instinctual.
"good job Pietro, now I want you to do whatever feels most natural to you"
"ok, umm I think I will try that running thing"
Pietro walks to the track part of the training room and then with a flash of green flames starts to run, as he speeds up more and more of the green flames are produced leaving a trail behind him before vanishing without actually doing anything to the ground. my perception seeds up along with him and I notice that the blue parts of his aura are interesting with the air molecules reducing drag and basically saying fuck you to physics as Pietro runs, while the green flames are the ones that are actually spending him up.
Pietro runs a few laps before he comes back to your location a huge grin on his face, I ask him to attempt to run through a stack of weights and while he looks at you oddly he does what I ask, as I had hoped the blue flames flared a bit as he passed through the stack of weights, it seems that the blue flames also allow him to phase through objects. after a few more tests we both figure out that Pietro's cruising speed is around Mach 7or 8, Pietro also seemed to gain more durability the faster he moves so he can survive collision at such speeds with minimal injuries(the injuries would heal soon after because of the serum.) this meant that the faster he hit someone the more damage they would take, meanwhile he would be just fine.
after extensive testing I told Pietro to go to sleep or something while I organized the data, I then put the infinity stones into my inventory and started to plan my next move.
