Chapter 2: A Brief Encounter Makes the Most Impression

Currently, the God of Freedom was walking in front of Sangū Mitsuba and her squad. The humans had their weapons by their side in case he decided to attack. The god never had such intentions, and he was not worried that he was on the receiving end of the humans' hostility.

The god didn't know where the humans were taking him, but watching them was interesting for him. "How could you guys have let so many of those monsters to surround you? Did you guys got into that trouble because you were running from vampires?"

"Why would we tell you any of that?" One of the squad members questioned as he pointed his sword at the god's back.

"Because I saved your lives?" The god suddenly turned around to look at them, making them halt their footsteps and their hearts' palpitations to increase. "And we are both fellow humans, so we should be friendly with each other. As people living in this accursed world, shouldn't we all try to watch each other's back?"

"...That is true, but that does not apply to some stranger we just met. Even if you did aid us in killing the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the fact that you aren't willing to give us your name and that you're in possession of a Cursed Gear makes you suspicious." The squad leader whose name was Ichinohe Hisaya pointed out.

"Yeah, I agree with you. I'm a very suspicious person." The god nodded his head. He continued walking backwards as he faced the mortals.

"Wait, you are agreeing with Ichinohe-san?!" Mitsuba rebutted from the side.

"So, your name is Ichinohe? Nice to meet you!" The god smiled and his silver eyes crinkled into a curve.

"...Uh, yeah, nice to meet you too."

Seeing the humans' faces turned red because of his beauty, he chuckled. "Don't be embarrassed. We are all friends here."

"Don't just decide that we are friends all by yourself!" Mitsuba pointed her battle axe towards him.

"Then, what should I do to be your friends? Any ideas, Ichinohe-san?" He turned towards the squad leader.

"A name would be appreciated..."

"I don't have a name." The god stopped walking. "Therefore, like I've said, give me one."

Mitsuba rolled her eyes. "We are not going to buy that lie, especially me. Just because I'm young doesn't mean I'll fall for that!"

The God of Freedom shrugged. "Why would I lie to you?" He put his headphone back on and listened to the sweet voice of the God of Music. "By the way, where are we headed to? Are we going to Shibuya? Going in this direction definitely leads to Shibuya, am I right?"

Ichinohe Hisaya sighed. "Yes, you are right."

The god then stopped walking. "Oh, in that case, this is where we should part ways."

While Mitsuba was an important character in this world, in the end, she was just another human. The God of Freedom felt that rather than going through the hassle of going into the city of Shibuya in order to interact with her, it'd be better if he just observed other humans or even vampires in Harajuku.

Well, he planned on visiting Shibuya some time later. After all, Shibuya was teeming with mortals. However, right now, he was in the mood ro explore Harajuku and walking on the empty streets unhindered.

The god looked at Hisaya, Mitsuba, and the rest of the squad. "You are not going to stop me, are you? If it's about my weapon, it really is not a Cursed Gear. You can ask the demons in your own Cursed Gears whether that's true or not."

"There are vampires out here, and if you're not armed with a Cursed Gear, you can't kill them even with your ability," Hisaya warned.

"Ichinohe-san is right." One of the squad members agreed.

"We aren't so ungrateful to leave you here alone, you know," Mitsuba also commented from the side. "If you're really as innocent as you say you are, then there should be no problem in going to Shibuya."

"Eh, I'm not in the mood to go into a questioning right after I enter the city." God of Freedom smiled. "I wished we would be able to talk some more but that doesn't seem like the best course of action right now. Well, the next time we meet, I'll make sure I'll have someone give me a name so that I can introduce myself to you guys."

He then waved his hand and kicked off from the ground.

"Hey! Wait! You suspicious little—!" Mitsuba raised her fist in the air and shook it in fury.

"See you later!" God of Freedom replied back. He quickly ran and disappeared into the distance.

Hisaya's teammate said, "What a weird guy."

"He looks harmless and mostly innocent, but that ability of his to quickly dispatch all of those Horsemen of the Apocalypse that we had trouble with... We need to report this to Lieutenant Colonel Guren-sama. Until then, let's keep this to ourselves, got it?"

All of them nodded. They hadn't tried to take him by force because of the uncertainty that they would be able to overwhelm him. Another reason why was because he gave off an aura that disarmed any feelings of hostility towards him. Coupled with the fact that he had indeed saved them, they didn't have enough of an initiative to pursue him.

In any case, the presence of the enchanting and eccentric white-haired young man would be reported to their Lieutenant Colonel, Ichinose Guren.

In the year 2017, the death of Sangū Mitsuba's squad leader and the rest of her squad did not happen. She was 13 years old when she met the God of Freedom. The next encounter would happen three years later, when the vampires would start their reign.

"Chatting with mortals was so refreshing." The God of Freedom hummed along the music playing on his headphone. "I already met Sangū Mitsuba though she didn't introduce herself to me. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll be able to meet Hyakuya Yūichirō and even Hīragi Shinoa."

He would leave his encounters up to luck for now. He was not going to intentionally look for them. Besides, with his appearance before Ichinohe Hisaya's team, not only the Moon Demon Company, it should not be farfetched if the Vampire Extermination unit would know about him soon. Maybe even the Japanese Imperial Demon Army as a whole would hear about him. Well, his brief encounter with the squad shouldn't warrant such fame, but it still had a slim possibility of happening.

The God of Freedom casually walked on the streets and sometimes killed the wandering Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Corpses littered his trail as he made his way towards a certain destination that he had in mind.

The place where the 'livestocks'–humans used as a blood supplier–were kept and raised by vampires, the Omotesandō Station.

"I just can't wait to talk to them~" He smiled as he swung his sword at a Horseman of the Apocalypse rushing at him, slicing it in half.
