Their culture don't really celebrate the incoming New Year. What they prefer celebrating is the Chinese New Year. That is the most important time of the year for them as a family. It is the time when her dad is happiest. Like he always would say, "This is the time to claim all the best lucks in the world!" But they still celebrate Christmas, because her Ama believes in Jesus when she was still alive. She was never the favorite one because she is a girl. But her Ama always let her feel that she was loved. And so she grew up not wanting to be the most favorite among her cousins but just be loved will be enough.
She stayed in the tub for almost half an hour. Now feeling refreshed and well rested, she is able to look at her suite. Hmmm. Her Mama would be glad to stay in that place. What she booked was one of Venetian's latest luxury suites. The website almost said it all that's why she was fascinated to book the room. It just feels like home.

It doesn't have jacuzzi on its bathroom as compared to Okada but the spacious 170 square meter bedroom, all on her own, is giving her such glory. And the king sized bed that she has slept for the past two days is really comfortable.
Yes she remembered it earlier. She arrived at MFM International airport at at almost 9 in the morning. The flight went well as expected. Upon arriving at the airport and had picked up her checked in luggage, she headed at the right side of the exit. She's been here a lot of times so it is just damn easy for her to travel at ease. This time, she didn't wait for a taxi. She decided to use the limo service provided by Venetian. She just tapped her mobile and she's good to go.
As she checked in at the lobby, she was greeted by the hotel's amazing staff with such a smile on their faces. In which, she didn't give a damn response. I am too tired, she murmured to herself. She gave her passport details and made an order for a french toast and an apple juice. She knows her body. With not enough sleep like that, she can make it not eating the whole day just to keep sleeping. And so she decided she must eat before heading for the bed later.
And true enough. She slept until the next morning. She did not want to be bothered so she deliberately did not check on her messages nor charged her phone. But since the bedside table has its own digital clock beside the lamp, she managed to analyze the date and the time.
It is the 27th already. And she just wasted two of her days sleeping. She doesn't like that kind of indulgence at all, but she needs it. She needs to get him out of her mind because if not, she will not be able to think clearly.
It is her final year and on her final semester. She can not be out of focus.
Checking her iPhone now if it is already charged, she managed to rub her hair with towel while trying to turn on her phone. While waiting for it to fully open and ask for her password, she checked her chest. Those hicks are still there but those are fading already. It can be covered by a foundation. The weather outside is just 8 degrees celsius. She can manage to go out.
"Siri, call Steven Wong." she spoke clearly to the phone and it automatically dialled the person. She heard three rings before he picked her call.
"Yes Honey, what's up?"
"Stevy, I am at Venetian's. Meet me at San Malo." she responded calmly.
"San Malo?! Do you know what day it is? It is the 27th! And with this season, I can't handle the crowd in there! What's up? I'll just come and drop by at your suite." Steve was almost shouting when he answered back.
"No, meet me in San Malo's Starbucks. I need to go there and drop by somewhere. You can't believe what I am going to tell you.
Steve Wong is her childhood friend. He and his family relocated in Macau ten years ago from China because his dad finally got a residence visa in Macau and so they are now locals there. She met Steve when she was just ten years old. Both of their families visited Australia that time. It was in Melbourne that in a certain restaurant where they were eating at different tables, she saw him looking at her intently. She was wearing her pink hello kitty dress which was het favorite character that time, and her pink shoes. She was also wearing a pink ribbon on her pony tails.
She asked for her Mama's permission to go to the washroom. At such an early age, she can handle her self very well already.
And as she walked past the next table, she looked at him. Unbeknownst to her, the little boy also asked for permission to use the washroom. And he ran after her.
"Hi!", he said hesistantly.
"Hello! Why are you looking at me?", she answered innocently.
"I am looking at you because you are so pretty. And your dress is lovely." he grinned as he looked intently at her dress.
"Do you like my dress?" she was already smiling at him.
"Yes. My sister has something like that too."
"Where is she?" she asked.
"She is in heaven now."
That was the start of their conversation. Their parents both got worried when after fifteen minutes, their children has not returned yet. Well their mothers were the ones who are worried. Their fathers do not feel any bit of worry at all. And the mothers saw both of their children playing at the lounge of the washroom. They were innocently talking which made both the mothers sigh in relief.
"Eve!"
"Steve!"
Both of the kids were shocked upon hearing their mothers called them which made them realize the name of their playmates.
"Mama. This is Eve." said the boy to his mother.
"Mama, this is Steve. We are now friends." said the girl to her mom.
Both the mothers were smiling and then laughed at the sight of their children.
The four of them went back to their tables and introduced one another.
The Wongs have recently relocated to Macau because of Mr. Wong's job at Lisboa. And that was their first family vacation supposedly, since a few months back that they lost Esther, their first born. She had leukemia at such a young age and was not able to recover when she got flu. They all thought she was healed already, but turned out had a relapse. The bacteria and the virus of the flu went straight to her lungs. But since her immune system is compromised, even the best doctors in Hong Kong weren't able to save her.
Since then, their family's have regularly visited each other whenever they have spare times. Her parents are really nice. They would always say yes to her request to visit the Wong's whenever she would want to see Steve. And as for her, she knew it was Steve that she will marry when they get older.
