Chapter 1: Ms. Dog Hater & Mr. Dog's Meeting (Part I)
The last class already ended and the girl is already getting ready to go home. While she is doing so, her classmates suddenly called her and invited her to join the house visiting.
"Eri, are you sure you don't want to come with us? I mean this is your crush's house we're going to visit, ya know? It's a once-in-a-lifetime encounter!" One of her classmates insisted.
"Sorry guys! I have a date with my mom today, and surely she'll be upset if I don't go home early. You guys just go and have your fun without me!" She said and finally proceeded to leave.
She is Eri Victorio, a 16-year-old high school student. She only has her mother as her relative, and her father died due to a car accident when she was young. Her father wasn't able to get out of the burning car early before it finally exploded. Now she's currently taking care of her mother more than her mother takes care of her because her mother's always busy that she almost forget to take care of herself.
While on her way home, she meets a lost, stray dog. If she's going to be honestly speaking, she is not that fond of animals, much more to dogs. Unexpectedly, the dog approaches her, and she couldn't help but to panic a little — good thing she remembered her mother's advice.
"My child, if ever you encountered a stray dog, don't you ever run! Just stay put and calm yourself a little, and walk normally like the usual. If it approaches you, stop a little and let them sniff you a little. I know that this might sound funny, but they are just familiarizing you if you get what I mean? Else, do you want to get bitten by a dog and mistook you as a bad person?"
"Ugh, easy for you to say," Eri complained but still smiled at the thought that she remembers her mom. She tries to lure the dog away, but it was a fruitless effort. She looked thoroughly at the dog. It seems to be very dirty because it was covered with mud and appears to be begging for something. She wants to give it food but unfortunately, she doesn't have any left so what she did is just hurriedly went home.
"Mom, I'm home!" She says while hurriedly went to the kitchen.
"Oh, hi Eri! Did something happen? You look like you were being chased!" Her mother inquired.
"Mom, I was so scared! The dog right there kept following me, everywhere! Whatever I do, it just keeps tailing me!"
"Is that so? Well, let's take a look outside and see if it's still there."
The mother and child went to take a look at the dirty dog that looks like it's waiting for a miracle to happen. When the mother saw this, she squealed in delight and excitedly went outside to take a closer look at the dog.
"Oh my gosh, it's a total cutie! A sweetheart! Just a few cleaning will suffice, and it can join any dog contest! Eri, you know what? Get something to eat and after I finished giving him a bath, let's feed it." Her mom seems very happy with her plan.
Seeing her mom was pleased like this, she feels very contented. It's been really a while that she witnesses her mom this happy after the incident. When the dog appeared in their household as if her mom forgets all of her problems. What's so special about dogs, anyway?
"There, all done! Just look at 'em, Eri! It looks so clean and fluffy now!" As Eri looks at her mother now, she thinks that it wasn't that bad at all since she sees her mom elated now.
"Try to touch its fur, Eri! Just calm down. I'll be here." Her mom encouraged her. When she successfully pet the dog, the dog licked her face in return to show its satisfaction.
"Ugh," was the only thing she managed to say. Her mom just laughed at the scenario and ruffled her daughter's hair.
"Looks like it likes you very much! Now it's decided, starting from now on, we'll call you 'Puti'!"
As time goes by, Eri becomes more comfortable with Puti and finally grew close with the adopted dog. She always takes him to walks and even let him sleep beside her. If Eri really is not fond of cleaning, she would surely consider kicking it out. She just found out the gender of the dog is male when her friend informed her.
Another day has passed. Things were really normal not until I woke up and discovered something I don't know what to feel.
"Good morning, Puti—" Her greeting was interrupted because instead of a dog, a human male was sleeping beside her. An alarming scream was to be heard in a very lively neighborhood.
"Dear, what's going on?!" Her mom barged into her bedroom with a kitchen knife on her hand. Perfect, just perfect. What a timing! Her mom was currently preparing her food when she heard her screaming.
"Who in the world are you? And why are you sleeping beside my dear daughter?!" Her mom's aura becomes awfully dangerous, but the guy just politely answered.
"I'm really sorry for all the troubles I've caused. I am indeed, the dog you are calling as 'Puti.' As you can notice, the dog is gone, but I've appeared as a human. Thank you for taking good care of me up until now." He courteously bowed to both of the mother and daughter. The two seems flabbergasted to process everything that happened.
"OMG… "were the only words Eri can say at the moment.
"Oh my god, indeed," her mom can only respond.
"Please don't think of me negatively, I just sleep literally, is all. To show my sincerity, I will follow everything you want me to do as my way of showing my gratitude." Puti bows again to show respect with his owner.

This story was originally in Filipino, but I've made it in English to improve my English vocabulary, so I hope this works out! My updates will not be that regular, but I hope you can manage to bear with me *laughs* So yep, I'm going to do my best in terms with that and hoping you'll enjoy this story~
