Chapter 5: MAIDSERVANT
"These are your uniforms," Mr. Smith sadly handed her luggage bag filled with her things. "Your favorite books are also packed inside."
"Be strong okay?" Carla pretended to be happy for her.
"Keep in touch Chef!" Lucy forced a smile.
"Does she really have to go?" Lucas is against it.
"If I don't," Rose told him. "I feared Manager will be troubled just because of me."
"Ai," Lucas cannot argue with her. "Then, stay safe. If I hear something bad I'll definitely come to pick you up."
Rose laughed at Lucas. She finds him joking yet sounded serious. She had known him since she was little. A loyal servant of her father who keeps an eye on her and her brothers. So responsible and trustworthy.
"Well," Mr. Smith sees the black vehicle fast approaching. "Your ride is here."
Lucy cried seeing Rose immediately goes to the vehicle parked across the road. The driver immeditely took her luggage and helped her inside.
"Be safe milady," Lucas whispered in the passing wind hoping she would hear.
Beeping. Sai awoke from his slumber. She had told him about Kai's visit and her being hired as a personal attendant to Ryun.
The awakened AI transformed from being an ordinary robot to becoming human like. He is in guardian mode and went out of the little cabin to follow the young lady who had decided to accept a noble's request.
"Six months is only short," she assured Sai and Lucas the night before. "After that my contract ends and I will come back here. I am sure I will miss working in the cafe."
"But I feared you'll get used to the mainland," Sai mumbled. He hopped onto the bus heading to Gaea Central City. He is analyzing data he had gathered and weigh things for her safety. It is one of his programs installed by the late master. The reason Sai is built is to keep the master company for he is a lonely man. Sai isn't just a maidservant but also a bodyguard and a soldier. He and Lucas are.
The mansion is quiet and empty. There was no one around.
"Follow me," the driver told her. "I will show you to your room."
"Yes please," she replied happily. But deep in her heart she is being suspicious of this situation she had entered.
"Young master Kai and young master Ryun are from a wealthy family," Mr. Smith told her once. "Their parents had built shopping centers in Gaea's mainland. Schools and most of the city's developments."
She bit her lip and quietly followed the driver to the maidservant's quarters. There were three rooms. The one on the left adjacent to the kitchen is what the driver pointed to be hers.
"The other two servants aren't stay in," the driver guessed her question. "You and I are the only ones who are occupying these rooms. This one room here is rarely used."
"I see," she nodded. "I should go then and change. It will be noon soon."
"Young master Ryun always has his lunch at exactly 12nn," the driver reminded her.
"Yes," she keeps it in mind. "His meals is composed mostly of veggies and less meat."
"Good," the driver is relieved she had done her assignment.
She immediately goes to the kitchen after putting on her uniform. Her hair remained ombre and she keeps wearing the hazel green colored eye lens. This is Ryun and she feared her cover will be blown if she's not careful. She was already nervous when she met Kai up close for once. These brothers aren't simple and she feared her days working as a personal attendant will be difficult.
"I heard young master Kai had hired a personal attendant for you," Ichiro is quick.
"He is very worrisome," Ryun replied. "I told him Ms. Laine is fine but he insists of hiring a new one. Said Ms. Laine is too old for the job although the lady has been in the family since we were little."
"I understand your brother," Ichiro defended Kai. "Anyways, time for lunch. Then we'll head back to class. Combat training at 1pm."
"Yeah," Ryun replied.
She had set the table already and is waiting for the young master to arrive. His meal is made ready and kept warm.
"Greetings to young master," Ao, the driver welcomed him inside. He led him and Ichiro to the dining.
She heard Ao and noticed the boys approaching the dining. She immediately bowed to greet them. Then Ao introduced them to each other.
Surprised, Ryun blinked his eyes and froze for a moment. His heart pounding fast. His thoughts in chaos. Do I need to be tormented by that voice? Ryun is thinking quietly. Or is this brother's way of picking on me again?
"What is chef Rose doing in my house?" Ryun turned to Ao.
"Young master Kai employed her as your personal attendant," Ao answered. "There was no one else that passed his standards. She is outstanding above the rest."
Ryun understood clearly. Kai has a very high standards where only a few can pass.
"You coming here," Ryun turned to her. "The cafe will be in difficult situation since they lost a very important member."
"Carla is my senior," she replied quickly. "So there is nothing to worry about the cafe. They have more than enough employees to keep the cafe working."
"Hmm?" Ryun scrutinizes her even more.
Ichiro and Ao remained quiet. They were speechless.
This wasn't the first time Ryun scrutinizes a maidservant. But today is different and is new to them.
She on the other hand had prepared herself of his scrutiny. She had anticipated it beforehand knowing they already met several times. And she had ignited something inside him making him becoming more inquisitive towards her.
With a calm expression she assured him, "I ask the young master to give me a chance to be of service. If by any chance I did something that young master doesn't like then you can fire me anytime. That was in the terms and conditions which young master Kai had explained before hand. He may be my employer but young master Ryun is the client."
"This gal," Ryun carefully thought. He had ran out of words and said no more.
He quietly sat down calling Ichiro to join him. Then asked Rose to do her job.
She immediately responded and performed her duties well. It is difficult for Ryun to find a single error so he can send her back to Sky Cafe. He really wanted her to go back. But at the same time happy she is there for it will be convenient for him to inveatigate her personally. And it is very confusing for him what he should do. Should he find fault and send her back or let her stay so he will know her better?
