DF is an abbreviation of Dimensional Folds. Dimensional Folds has the same principle as FTL(faster than light) transit that is to traverse space in the least time as possible, while FTL is only a margin higher than the speed of light maybe 10-20% higher, DF on the other hand is like this; any where 1 DF is instant travel which is equivalent to a radius of 16 lightyears and that is with you as the center. Beyond 1 DF is realm of pure speed but traveling this fast is so bad hellish even, without proper shielding. FTL travels through HyperSpace while DF travels through SpaceFold or portals.
The current means of space travel is still FTL because it is far much stable and predictable and DF is far from the reach of the current technology but on special conditions a wormhole of one to two DF may appear naturally and when this happen who ever gets it to stabilized first owns it and can be use as commercial trade route or for any agenda you have that includes traveling great distances. Although finding one of this DF's is incredibly rare and lucky stabilizing it mean it will decrease distance. Stabilized DF portals only travels one DF at max no ship can travel 16 lightyears per second.

For what she remembers ethererium is one of the few elements that binds well with Element X hardening it, then it can be used to forge weapon that can fuse with the user.
But in the current world ethererium mines is a no go because its highly combustible because it naturally creates oxygen and this material only available on space not on ground or habitable planet and one more thing this thing react violently on any metals.
It also naturally distorts space time same as Element X so commercial class FTL can't be used here.
Most of the time this thing is in a liquid or gaseous from but on lucky occasions this can condensed into a crystal and can be mined.
The main application or use of this material is to enhance elemental conductivity due to this crystals of Ethererium is highly sought after by mages or in scientific term Espers. But some my think that they hit the jackpot but in reality large quantity of this material is monitored by large Corporations that monopolize it.

On the other side of the Ethererium deposit is a space port that is totally made from polyethylene or plastic.
"sir the crystallization procedures are going slow but in a good phase"
"Any reports about the scav they cant be raiding us all the time" he complained.
A loud buzz came in from the nav room, then the whole room went sham there was multiple notifications popping up warning going off and lots of confusion.
"What the hell is happening" he shouted.
"Sir a space anomaly is occurring on the far side of the Ethar mine and its a big one" the astonished navigator reported.
"What are we looking at?"he ask a bit nervous but can pass it out.
"Sir its.. its.. a .a. a"
"What is it? .... damn let me have a look put it on the main monitor!" The captain complain as the crew dumbfoundedly stunned with what they saw. But he regretted looking at it after ward and became silent.
"All Hands move to the escape pods and you there record what that storm is doing" He formulate a fast and easy escape plan and a proper explanation to the higher ups.
"Sir do you know what is that thing? wait it seem to be a human" ask the by one of the crew he respond to them in a resolute tone.
"If I deducted correctly it might be a Exalted Paragon or higher, remember the rock with cryptic symbols on it" he paused waiting for feedback but return to explain more "we all know that the rock don't show up in the sensors and can only observe by naked eyes, it can be after that or any other anomaly that we cant even detect"
After a long and thorough self deliberation he decided.
"OK first we head for evac at the same time you and you come with me we will probe him from a safe distance.... OK that's final"
"ok, captains order is out we move out now" as the second in command fixes his personnel and load the necessary equipment on the loading ships and transferred to the fleet.
As the whole mining outpost in shambles Anne began collecting the Ethererium.

Three minutes on this ordeal Anne became bored and began looking for something to entertain her.
After looking about she found a lonely stone floating in the middle of the mine.

Amusing herself to the new stuff, her thoughts began to fly off.
Origin Stone or Dao bestowing rock some call it, is an item with unknown origin and most of the old folks tell tales of its unimaginable power and wisdom.
This "Things" has many different adoration or call it forms but most ends up as stones thus it is mostly known as Origin stones. This cant be compared with the cube even though the cube is a type of Origin stone as it displays same characteristics as the aforementioned stone the cube still reveal more and more abilities. Origin stone on the other hand has a fix ability to be given to the user and repels other stones.
"Ann scan it and give me the details"

On the far side the observing side began to panic due to her actions but she is unaware of this.
"Sir the whole mine is disappearing or... being devoured in a crazy phase"
"Yes I can see that.... how much time dose he/she need to finish this mine?"

"OK you all hear the Guy I want every body out of this place within 2 hrs"

"No Sir due to the target is emitting some kind of distortion field so we cant probe any farther" she complain but she still persist to record.
"Sir we got trough HQ and they say they are sending a rescue ship"

As the commotion began to escalate Anne began to sit in front of the stone. Assuming the lotus sitting position, she was perplex about the action because it was so organic like it was natural thing to do she cant understand her actions but she push it aside.
She began to assimilate the wisdom embedded in the stone.
What Anne found is a Universal language like Origin Stone but what gives this particular stone different feels is that it gives of a profound and dominating aura.
Anne did not mind this she was so immerse to what the stone is giving her and began to emit the same aura with out noticing it.
Meanwhile the observing team began seeing things.
"Sir something is happening all of the sensors are acting up"
"IS THE EVAC DONE?"
"Yes Sir! preparing for departure at your command"
"Have your report ready.... we need to go"
As he finish his words Anne open her eyes with a profound and aloof look she began to gather something out of nothing and as it conform it form a visage of a man opening its arms and it seams like appreciating the universe.
It was a mesmerizing sight and to say that it is psychedelic or euphoric is still an understatement.
But Anne is oblivious about it but she can feel the chills it gives off.
With few gesture all of the remaining Ethererium began to condensed into an impossible state, solid state.
Then it gave off a very powerful spital tremors.
On the other side
"Sir..." dumfounded she began to mumble in audible words.
"Its iii its time lock... we're doom" ...
In this type of situation even a cold hearted killer will panic.
As Anne compresses the Ehtererium to a singularity she experience enlightenment.
A series of vague lines began to pop up on her head but it was full of knowledge. When the Ethererium finished it singularity event all of the Ethererium formed a single atom and defying the very fabric of reality. In oder to protect it self reality tried to collapse this region of space time but the cube reacted suspended the space into a halt.
Ann went back to standard protocol and deducted that this maybe a hardware error or the current hardware reach its limit and needs upgrade.
So the most durable element in the vicinity is the orb of condensed Ethererium. Using all of the processing capacity Ann concluded to survive this the most perfect entity to use an organic being with that adoptability her host may survive this.
So with the help of the cube and the new found origin stone Ann began to bend the orb to the perfect entity.
"sir we lost the mine along with the crew"
"we only recovered this transmission" the little secretary went and play video.
"sir this..this " one of directors can't help but blurt out.
After the video finished playing none of them can say anything until the CEO stands up and say...
"Account all of them and compensate the families" with a sadden tone he look at the window with a hollow gaze he seemingly mock the gods 'You think this can make me go down on my knees dream on'.
On another monolith a scrawny man laughing his heart out upon hearing the news.
"Aahaha... the biggest Ethar mine in the galaxy hahaha pooof gone along with 20 000 men.. haha one less competition"
He was anticipating a bankruptcy by the end of the day but it did not happen. Curious he look at the headlines to his surprise there was not even a news about the accident.
Few hour earlier.
I front of an angry mob the most outstanding bachelor of the century went up the podium and starred at the crowd. With the chilling stare looming above them the crowd went silent. He stuffed a handful of papers back to his suit and spoke.
"In behalf.... no it was my incompetency that lead this to happen..." he pause for a moment.
"I apologize for my lack of supervision and attentiveness on the needs of my workers" he gracefully lowered his head.
A lengthy speech was prepared for him by the PR department but he choose to apologized and put all the blame on himself.
He did not say a lot just apologized and leave.
The crowd of reporters were frustrated having got no substantial info the scattered holding crystal phones trying to contact their insiders.
