Chapter 13: Treatment with Needle
Going back home is a wise choice for her. All the black sticky impurities started to get her a numb, nauseating feeling. This disgusting sight can't be held too long, or else...thinking until here, Xue Ming shuddered. After her Eyes Aperture opened at the first level of Human Rank, the second level should be Nose Aperture. That is why she can't stand the smell. Not until she breakthrough to the first level of Earth Rank, her only option now was to bear with it. Lamented her days with now opened Nose Aperture, her face turned green.
" Urgh...my best choice is to seal it with acupuncture techniques, Sense Sealing. Like this, my sense can be reduced to half. Hmm, not bad for the time being." Xue Ming nod. Pleased with her way to solve the problem, she starts grinning like an idiot. Hehe, now, I'm happy.
She arrived at the courtyard a moment later. Looking around to make sure no one here, she makes a leap to her own balcony. Once her feet touch the smooth granite floor, her sense detected a familiar presence in her room. Her mouth twitched. She groaned in frustration.
Xue Lang...
" Sis?" Xue Lang called. He wants to make sure the person on the balcony was his twin sister. He comes to have some chat but to discover that Xue Ming not in her room. Thinking about her unusual habit to go outside almost every nights, he felt annoyed.
" What?" She lazily answered and walked inside at the same time.
" You...why the hell you keep going out until this late? Are you robbing a bank?" Xue Lang asked, feeling frustrated.
Xue Ming laughed, " The first house I'm going to rob should be Xue Mansion. So, no. Strolling outside to get some fresh air. What's up?" She went to her wardrobe, taking out a bathrobe and start to heat the water. Pulling out a small porcelain bottle from the small cabinet, she pours out all the contents inside the bottle into the bathtub. She needs to concoct some of the fragrance baths soap again later on.
Thinking here, she peeks out her head, asking the still annoyed Xue Lang. " Are you free tomorrow? Accompany me to buy something."
Xue Lang's eyes raised in amusement. " Again? Are you serious, Sis? Shopping?"
Xue Ming thought for a while before nods, " Yes. Something like that...by the way, it's there any traditional medicine shop around here? Or, acupuncture clinics?"
Xue Lang blinked. Acupuncture clinic? Traditional medicine shop? " Yeah, it should be here. There are two of them. One at the Central City, another one at Star City. Why? Are you still sick, Sis?" Xue Lang's face turns serious. He solemnly looks at her and went to check. But half-way stopped by her hand.
" Calm down, I'm good. I want to buy acupuncture needles." She sighed at his overprotective nature. Xue Lang stunned. Acupuncture needles?
" What for? Treatment? Do you want to do it by yourself? Oh, no no no! Sis, please don't do something stupid. Just go to the hospital, that's much better." Xue Lang turned serious. He instantly rejects the idea of her to treat herself with acupuncture.
" Hey, hey...Don't underestimate this Sister of yours, alright? I learned it before with a Master, so this is nothing. Modern technology taking too much longer than the traditional method. Alright, fine. I'm being honest here. Lately, I felt discomfort at my stomach and lower back. However, this thing is rarely happening. So, no hospitals can treat it. The only option was acupuncture and herbs concocting." Xue Ming looks outside the window. She's lying.
To tell the truth, the problem occurs after the accident. This body's own head was hit at the lower back of the head. She keeps feeling dizzy and fuzzy at sometimes. Some of the memories start getting blurry. Based on her experience as a medical practitioner, the cause should be a tiny shard of the skull blocking some of the blood flows on the head.
(Author Notes: I'm not familiar with medicine or biology, so I'll speak nonsense here. Just ignore it. 😅)
" This...fine. If this treatment of yours failed, just go to the hospital despite being slow in healing." Finally, Xue Lang gives up. She, being his twin sister is more important than the world. He will support her unconditionally. Anything happens, he can only blame himself for not being strict enough towards his younger siblings.
As if sensing his worries and concern, Xue Ming leaves the bathroom and throw herself into his warmth arms. Burrowing her head on his chest, she felt the sense of security she needed the most. Here, she's alone. But, heavens kind enough to grant her a loving family despite being away from her real family in that world.
" Sigh...whatever you do in the future, please talk to me first. Don't blindly made a decision for your own. Don't let me worry. If anything happens to you, how can I live in the future? Now, the only family I had was the both of you. Be it Xiao Qi, or you. The most important to me right now is your safety and happiness. I won't ask much, just stay safe, healthy, and let me protect you two." Feeling the turmoil inside Xue Ming's heart, he hugged her back and kiss her hair. She gripped hard his back, showing how grateful she was, having them as a family.

SoybeanTheBlackCat I wish I have an elder brother like Xue Lang. But, I'm more grateful that despite being the eldest in my family member, I have two loving siblings, a younger brother and younger sister. As the eldest, I wish they wellbeing and stay safe even I'm away from home.
