Chapter 53: Reward

In the midst of the painful, screeching sound, a roar of pain was heard from the beast caught in the middle of a sphere of swirling, black energy. The clone could not muster the strength to jump out no matter what it tried because the Cricket Bomb had caught it right at the weakest point when it deactivated the divine technique that had allowed it to dramatically increase its strength.

Although its affinity was lightning, the berserk black electricity was eroding its weakened body bit by bit, and it could sense that the soul force that the creator had infused to create it was reaching the end. It looked up at the broken body of the little girl still crouching in front of him with proud, unrelenting eyes, and gave an almost imperceptible nod of respect towards her before it abruptly dissipated.

Ning'Er heard the booming laughter of the Winged Lightning Dragon to the side. "Well done, girl! I can't believe you actually did it. But...can you survive your injuries? It would be a real shame..."

Seeing that the gruelling fight was over, she quickly pulled out a Nine Transformation Pill from her interspatial ring, and sat down to consume it and refine it as soon as possible. She felt the cooling feeling course through her body as the powerful effects of the elixir began knitting her broken body back together from within.

Seeing that she was in possession of such a high tier elixir, the dragon's eyes raised in curiousity. Who was this girl with level-defying combat power, legendary weapons and miraculous medicine? What was her background that allowed her to be at this level? As far as it knew, Glory City had been fading in strength as each generation passed, causing the dragon to start to give up on humanity's ability to sustain and grow.

The dragon went back to the pond in the adjacent cavern and lay down to rest, knowing that it would take awhile for the girl to recover from such severe injuries.

It took three Nine Transformation Pills and one week before Ning'Er felt that most of her severe injuries had recovered. Anyone else would have vomited out blood to hear that she had used three of such high tier pills at one go as though she were consuming candy! However, she had no shortage of pills where the only thing she was short of was time.

The rest of her recovery would take time, as her broken bones would need time to reform and solidify but at least she had recovered some of her battle strength if she needed to fight again soon. She walked out to find the dragon in the same position she had initially found it.

"One week and you're already walking. Not bad, not bad, little child. You have exceeded my expectations. The Silver Flash has truly done well to unearth and develop a genius such as you!" The beast flicked its eyes towards a pile of large flasks. "That should be more than enough Azure Water to completely remove all the remnant lightning poison in him."

She bowed head deeply in gratitude and placed the flasks within her interspatial ring.

"Now, just as I gave your founder the same when he passed the test, you get to choose any three treasures from this room that you want. The things I have collected are not normal items. Remember that the three cultivation manuals your founder chose was sufficient to help him grow as a Legend Ranked expert, and to form the basis of your clan's heritage." The dragon explained.

Ning'Er slowly walked around the large cavern, looking over all the items that lay scattered around. Many of the things she found had reached Legend Rank, and there were unique objects that she would not be able to find anywhere else!

As she walked around, Ye Yan's voice continually buzzed in her consciousness. He was ecstatic because even at his level of strength, he had not see such a collection of items in his life!

"An orb containing the demon spirit of a Red Fury Dragon! I can't even remember anyone in the St. Ancestral Mountain Range ever possessing the demon spirit of a true dragon! No demon spiritualist could fight against you!"

"The Black Spear of the Death Knight from the Sacred Empire Era, a Legend Ranked weapon! This divine weapon is rumoured to be able to absorb the life force of its enemies to heal its user in the midst of battle!"

"A Moonstone! Such a rare artifact! It can protect its user from soul attacks and even allow the user to send its own soul attacks over to an enemy!"

Although Ning'Er had experienced a lot in her previous life, Ye Yan seemed to have taken a deep interest in artifacts when he was alive and his knowledge was rather useful for any items she was unsure about.

However, as she looked around, one thing continually concerned her. These items were one-off supplements to combat ability and strength, but there was nothing that could benefit her in the long-term. Once she arrived at the Draconic Ruins Realm, she would have access to more of these type of items. It would only be significantly useful while she was strengthening herself in the St. Ancestral Mountain Range during this season and at the same time, if the item were stolen, lost or broken, the benefit would be gone immediately.

After thinking through deeply, she walked up to the dragon, still relaxing beside the pond. It's massive tail was lazily stroking the Azure Water in circles as it waited for her to make her decision. There was no rush anyway because it had been resting in this place for many centuries already with minimal contact with the outside world.

"Have you made your decision?" It asked as it saw the firm resolution in her eyes.

"Great Benefactor, can I request for just one thing and I will forgo the three items if I could have it?" Ning'Er asked in a steady voice.

"Ohh?" The dragon was curious that even these amazing artifacts laying around the cavern would have no appeal to this child. "What is it?"

"Can I...have one drop of your essence blood?" she inquired.

The dragon sat up abruptly, not expecting such a request. The essence blood of a high tier beast was incredibly precious to itself, and especially so for one of a true dragon's lineage.

"Are you serious? It takes me ten whole years to refine one drop of concentrated essence blood, and I need a lot to push for each breakthrough. You are asking me to give up ten years?!" The dragon was too shocked to even be angry.

"I'm deeply sorry for being so forthright. It was not to disrespect or dishonour your noble lineage. Have you...heard of the Sage Emperor?" She decided to take the chance since she had come this far already.

"The Sage Emperor?!" The dragon's eyes looked away into the distance as it accessed memories long passed. "For the dragons of the ruling class in the eras that have gone by, we have heard of the Sage Emperor. The strongest of our lineage has met with him before to negotiate an arrangement. He does not want to draw the ire of the strongest of our lineage across the different realms because together, we could inflict significant damage on him even if we were ultimately destroyed. So the deal is that whenever he is ready to refine a realm, he lets us know and the strongest of us relocate to a different realm. This way, our race survives and he doesn't have to deal with the inconvenience of having a powerful enemy."

The beast's eyes looked downcast for a moment. "This realm we're currently in will be refined within the next five hundred years. All the strongest of my lineage have left already, which is why I'm the only one left here. I need to break through Legend Rank to Heavenly Fate Realm in order to gain the right to break through the barriers placed around Tiny World. These were the initial rules established by the Creator of this world for those of a true dragon's bloodline."

The dragon sighed heavily. "I'm only at 2-Star Legend Rank now at at current pace that I'm breaking through, it's practically impossible for me to break through to the required level. And now you're asking me to delay a further ten years?"

Ning'Er was amazed that the dragon race had already encountered the Sage Emperor before, and had even negotiated such an arrangement. "Great Benefactor, my desire to grow stronger is linked to a need to defeat the Sage Emperor. As you know, humans can grow stronger far faster than any other being across the realms despite our lowly starting point. If you grant me the gift I ask for, I promise that I will do everything in my power to destroy the Sage Emperor, and even if I don't, I'll find a resource that can help you grow to Heavenly Fate Rank! I am able to exit Tiny World and have the ability to travel to different realms to find the resources you need."

The dragon quietly looked deeply into her eyes. "How do you know so much? The way you speak reveals that your wisdom and knowledge goes beyond anything anyone in Tiny World should possess." The beast extended its profound spiritual perception into her soul. "Don't resist, I won't hurt you."

Against her better instincts, Ning'Er allowed the dragon's perception within her soul realm because she felt that obtaining the blood essence was too important to pass up.

"Hmmm...Oh?? Your soul aura is rather unique. So you're a reincarnator, after all..." The dragon's voice boomed out as it discovered what it was looking for!

Ning'Er braced herself wondering if this knowledge would set the dragon off in rage, and got ready to transform into the Panterran to escape. However, her concerns were unwarranted as the dragon chuckled in approval.

"You might truly have the ability to grow and challenge that insane dictator, that's something really wish to see! Actually, I had not held out much hope that I could grow fast enough before he refined this realm. Even my arrangement with the founder of your clan was just a spontaneous experiment to find someone strong enough to obtain the resources I need outside of Tiny World. Who knew that fate would bring you to my door?!" The beast burst out laughing as a knot in its heart began to unravel and it began to see hope for its future survival.

"I will give you three precious drops of my essence blood. Thirty years of my life! In return, you will need to bring back any materials that can boost the cultivation and soul force of those from the draconic lineage." The dragon passed over a recipe. "In addition, you will need to find the ingredients on this recipe. It is the most important component for me to raise my level!"

Ning'Er looked at the name of the scroll that the dragon had handed to her. Across the top of it, the formidable name of the elixir was written in beautiful calligraphy.

Seven Revolutions Dragon's Pill!

The seven ingredients listed were extremely rare but she remembered seeing some of them in her past life when she travelled around the Draconic Ruins Realm. In excitement, she made an oath to the heavens that she would do everything under her power to complete the tasks, and the dragon then passed over a vial with three drops of blood that thrummed with an insane, berserk energy.

She had obtained what she needed!
