Chapter 62: Chapter 31: Pendragon, Battle at Gran Valley

Winter has just come to Gran Valley, situated just northwest of England.

Trekking through the thick forest, Arthur and his army of knights marched orderly with discipline. The strong, chilling wind kept beating mercilessly at the knights, causing the cloaks at the frontlines to flutter with it. The Pendragon family crest's banner towers above the militia, flying proud and dignified.

Faith looks solemnly at the sky. The battle will start soon.

Her head has been pounding do to Durandal relentless pastures lately. Its really starting to weigh her down.

Gran Valley, Once Arthur's army set camp as soon as they reached their destination. Their scattered campfires glowing in the dark like stars in the night sky.

Faith glanced at Arthur who was standing on a cliff overlooking looking like the protagonist he is, with his cape fluttering even though there is no wind.

She turned her head to Lancelot who was next to her whetting his dagger.

The Saxon's army is led by Clamest and Caramor! Rome is secretly backing them up.

Her eyes lowered she had no plans or anything, so her thoughts drifted to Claudius, she hates to say it but at this point at this time she really missed him.

"Do you know why teacher insisted you come?" Arthur asked with his cape still fluttering without any wind being there.

Faith felt pissed off. "Does it matter?" she said annoyed and turning her head to the fire.

Arthur's face contorted.

"Know this well, war is cruel. You only have yourself to depend on. If you do not understand this, then I suggest you return back to Camelot."

"Arthur are you trying to say I'm weak." Faith glared at him "Don't forget I can take you down in a second with a sword"

He signed "Faith, during the battle, don't ever leave my side, you understand?" his voice soft. To a normal girl, it would be fine. But Faith wasn't normal she was stronger than any man here. He was looking down at her strength even though she proved it time and time again. She glanced at Excalibur at his hip. Before scuffing of in another direction.

The dawn breaks as the curtain rise for King Arthur's maiden battle.

Gran Valley's river banks now stand two opposing armies. The air is stiff and tense. Nothing can come in between nor dispel the tense atmosphere. Fay too, has finally seen The Demon Clamest. Due to the tightly fitting armor from head to toe, Fay can barely make out his facial feature. However, his flashy red armor attracts eyes from far and near. She thought this man must be as cruel as the rumors say.

Hear me, your king! Knights at the flank, maintain formation and attack the Saxon's flank! We shall break through their frontlines!"

Arthur's orders resounded through the army, a strong command undeniable by his soldiers. A surge of strong wind breezed through, the king's red cape fluttered with the wind. This moment, as if on cue, rose the knights' morale and acted as a signal to charge.

The Knights roared and unsheathe their weapons as they followed the back of their king. The red, billowing cape arouse their fighting spirit.

"For the King! For Avalon!"

Arthur's eyes swept past his militia once more. His blood now boils, a torrent of bloodlust fills his being. This is it! This is the moment!

Arthur's army is a mighty force and with the king leading at the forefront, an unstoppable force. Arthur rushed into the enemy's formation singlehandedly.

As for Faith she took down her enemies with ease. Anyone they came for her life fell before her nonchalant sword.

Till suddenly she stopped, Durandal was pulsating. But this pressure is too much. If she used anymore will power, it will affect the world. So, she stood frozen in her stop. What was she going to do, she tried to pressure Durandal it back to silence it.

"Stupid woman! Fight back! Draw your sword! Stop blocking with your shield only! DRAW YOUR SWORD!!" Faith heard Arthur's desperate cries she knew as a sword was coming down at her. But she didn't want to move at all Durandal was pushing her back.

Suddenly, the enemies strike was blocked by two other blades. It turns out that it was both Arthur and Lancelot, just in the nick of time.

"Seize this chance! Hurry and kill him!!"

Arthur shouted but both him and Lancelot soon realized that Faith wasn't listening. "This is war. No one will pity you. There will always be a bloodied victim. Do not stop your swings until the enemy is dead! This is God's will."

Arthur gave a cold glance and left the scene. He soon joins a new battle elsewhere.

Lancelot watched Arthur leave at the clear and turned back to Faith. He suddenly felt chills down his spine as he saw Faith's expression, it was a smile but behind it was an enormous amount of Killing intent.

"Fa-"

Slash, Faith cut the approaching enemy behind Lancelot surprised.

"Your Right this is War, so there is no need to hold back right" she whispered with a smile. Lancelot heard that, and for some reason, he felt fear grow in the back of his heart.

What he saw next was a series of enemies laid to waste in instants as one after another fell again and again — bringing Fear to both Enemy and ally alike as many where able to stare at her rampage through the battlefield.
