Marriage? Many thoughts started flooding Nicole's thoughts at that moment, " you want me to marry you? Derek was puzzled by her question, " listen, Nikki, you can think about it if you feel awkward now, am in no hurry, I just want to be by your side and support you in your revenge and also to get back on your feet".
'Getting back on my feet? this is so shocking, she then turned and backed him, " I can't marry you, Derek, it's not right, I feel like I would be taking advantage of your kindness these past few months, I just want to get back on my feet, find myself a job and get back everything Verona took from me! Derek was stunned at first, his fine chiseled face was expressionless, " Are u rejecting me right now? He then managed to say, He had been thinking of how to approach her about this matter, but he was lacking courage. She had turned her back on him so quickly! Then he thought of something, " Nikki! She then turned and her eyes meet him kneeling, she froze and ran to help him up, "Derek Yoon! are you trying to intimidate me? " while helping him up but he refused to stand, " Nicole just say "yes"to my request, I won't stand up from here unless you agree". Why is he been so stubborn? Nicole was speechless, she just stood in front of him without saying a word, how will I be able to convince this guy? Then she came up with an idea.
" Listen, Derek, I don't love you and I don't hate u either, I have been so good to me that I don't even know what to do to repay all your kindness, but right now am not at the level to marry anyone, I don't have a bride price, and I feel terrible with myself because I lost everything, there is still a lot I wish to do and more, but marriage isn't one of them, I can't marry you like this!
" I know Nicole, but I can't let you face them alone, your father is a very powerful man in the Philippines and with a lot of connection, so is your sister, I don't want you to get hurt in the process of your revenge, let me help you, let me protect you!
" I know you have my best wishes at heart, but, I can't just get married to you out of the blue like this, apart from meeting your family and you at the hospital few months back, I don't know anything about you, am even yet to actually clear out my life, so please, just think of me first and my feelings before you talk about marriage!
Derek was speechless, she was right, they knew nothing about each other, she was just staying under the same roof with him, and he needed to give her time to sort out her feelings first, he decided to convince her instead, " Nikki, everything you have said now, makes a lot of sense, but I can't just let you go, since the hospital, I felt something different about you, am a still curious, so why don't we take it slow for now? Get to know each other and start like real couples huh? This man is hilarious! Nicole thought, is he asking me to date him right now? And he calls this a proposal? I just can't, he can't woo a woman, this type of men are good for nothing! I can't date you, Derek Yoon, Maybe that will be in the future!
