Chapter 14: Saving Private Asther.
Asther was stressed and tired. He had been typing his findings on a looming corruption scandal related to Mr L. Cambridge ever since Elson's and his partners findings in Iraq. He had never slept last night, knowing that this would affect the world and especially Milton City as a whole. He writes the last sentence of the report as he saved the report in his blue thumb drive. He packed his belongs as he leaves his makeshift office. Informing Yusuf that he is heading back home for a nap before heading back to work later. He starts up his red Jeep Trackhawk and made his way out of the facility. "What a long day." He yawned as he reached a junction. Unbeknownst to him, Two ladies were spying on him on the other side. "Target is heading to the area." One reported to a walkie talkie as the other spots him turning towards the planned area. "Good. Prepare for the assault." A voice speaks out as they followed him in the Chevrolet Impala. He drove all the way to the next junction as they prepared for the assault. It was all going so well, a guy was on the move, driving towards the junction to ram him using the car that he stole when they came.
He jolted out of his seat as the van smashed into his car. The doors caving in as the airbags deployed. The others quickly surrounded the two vehicles as they draw their weapons. Dwayne got out of the van as he dropped slime in the vehicle. He shot the driver of the ramming vehicle, his body slumping onto the steering wheel, he turns back towards the others as he went after them. "Looks guys the guns we brought is to protect you all. I'm going to get him alright." She winks at Zoe as she rushes out of the van. "Look it's alright guys, we're all fine." Daniel calms down everyone in the van with Kathryn staring at him. Unsure of his choice of words. Zoe watches from the rear window as Shelly informs an injured Asther to get onto their van. Dwayne quickly killed the last guy as they sped off from the area.
"You sure we won't be spotted here?" Dwayne asked Bryony as she directed him to a abandoned dockyard near the city through the backroads after several hours of driving. Most of the containers are rusted off and the colors fading as they entered the rough compound. Cranes sat where they were, dust visible on their windows, boats sat beached on the ground and weeds arose from certain areas of the ground. A mid-80s building nearby had its paint peeled off with a large sign stating that it is for rent, but most of the items laid intact. He parked near the building as the jacked up van reverted back to a UPS truck. They brought everyone into the building as they dragged along the weapons they brought. As they entered via the main door which turns out to be unlocked, most of the items had been cleared of furniture. Litter were found alongside the corridors as part of the panels were falling apart. The walls were reeking of odor as they traveled along. Both the male and female toilets had been partly smashed with only two cubicles remaining but the piping was found to be intact along with the lighting. Dwayne quickly escorted them into a meeting room as Dwayne and Shelly went to find food and supplies. They shopped around a nearby convenience store in their disguises as they heard the news on the TV regarding the break in at Ardent Industries as well as the school shootings at Milton High, where it turns out there were no injuries nor casualties for civilians. A massacre was also discovered at the Orphanage as many laid dead with several students found missing. They hurried out of the store to the suspicion of the clerk as they headed back with several snacks, a torchlight and tissue. They passed the snacks out to everyone whom were starving. Dwayne watches Zane take care of his injured father as the four discussed about the materials needed to create the blueprints. They then suddenly heard car noises from the outside.
Dwayne and Shelly got to a nearby window as they spotted a White 1990s Supra outside. He spots two men emerging out of the vehicle, One was someone he did not know while the other he realized was his uncle. Dwayne quickly told Shelly about him as they heard footsteps in the building. Just as they headed back to inform the others, they were shot with Tazers. They slumped onto the floor, unable to get up as his Uncle shouts, "Where is Asther?!?" His partner quickly armed his rifle, preparing to kill the both of them, Dwayne stares at Shelly, attempting to hold their hands, Bryony and Hektor were powerless to help when Asther limped towards them, "Looks like both of you, Elson and Jefferson, had gotten the wrong idea." He ate with his mouthful as he brought Dwayne and Shelly up on their feet. Zane quickly brought them into the meeting room where he spots another family eating snacks along with weapons and equipment slumped up against the wall. Bryony and Hektor then introduced themselves as they told the others what was happening. Shelly took out her computer as they showed Elson, Asther and Jefferson the blueprints recovered in her father's office. Elson then showed the blueprints and notes found at the HQ, stating, " These blueprints state that when Mr L. Cambridge states the code, A machine at the Mayor's office would 'tell' the satellites to aim at several loud speakers which when activated would affect the person's brain, losing their self awareness resulting in them killing others. I unfortunately don't know the code." He looks down guiltily as many were stunned by his discovery. "As much as we may not have the code, we still have substantial evidence to plan." Bryony chilled everyone as Dwayne, Shelly and Elson head down to the docks to find materials to fight Katz and her goons as the others prepared for tomorrow.
