Exactly 1 o'clock in the afternoon only five out of nine people who were selected to accompany the Head Chief boarded the service van. Their first destination would be the Amethyst Imperial Hotel. It was the nearest from the capital and located near a coast line. It would take about two hours if the road would not be congested. The representatives of Sales and Marketing as well as Finance department used their own private cars. Two were the with the Head Chief.
Han Meixiu sat at the back part of the van. Since she was the newest employee and only in probation period, she didn't have much of a choice where to seat. She was sitting beside the representative of the house keeping department, a kind middle-aged lady. She was a little worried on how she could get the information she needed. Li Xiaozhi gave her a time plan and if she could not follow it, there might be an unnecessary delay.
Normally she could get all the data they needed by just intruding someone's computer remotely, of course it would be unauthorized, but that would also mean it would shorten their investigation and eventually lead to lesser contact with Li Xiaozhi. She didn't really like it. She liked it when her best friend gave her orders and when she perfectly followed, Xiaozhi would praise her. She felt warm inside. That kind of warm that was gone when her grandparents died. She wanted to be spoiled by Li Xiaozhi.
She remembered the time when her grandparents died. Xiaozhi cried more than she did that left her wondering if it was really her grandparents who died and not her best friend's. Between Xiaozhi's sobs and with swollen eyes she promised to take care of her so she should not feel lonely. It was also the time that she realized, she's still not alone. She has her.
When they arrived, Han Meixiu was shocked when she saw Aunt Yi Min in Amethyst Imperial Hotel's lobby waving her hands at her. If it wasn't for this special trip, her day off would be tomorrow and they have plan to meet. But she called her and explained her circumstances. Aunt Yi Min didn't tell her that she would be coming here, too.
She strode towards her smiling Aunt Yi Min. When the latter saw coming her she excused herself from a small crowd and walked to her as well.
"Good thing I saw you. You saved me there!"
"Why what's wrong?" She originally wanted to ask why she's here but realized that this was their property so she just forgot about it.
"Those people were obviously sucking up. I really hate pretentious and ambitious human beings." Madam Lui complained to Han Meixiu. Her face obviously showed disgust.
Han Meixiu softly laughed. She knew her character. As much as possible Madam Liu didn't like attending parties unless it's necessary to their business. She liked to stay low-profile and there were instances that she disguised herself as a common middle-aged lady. That was the case when they first met. Both of them joined a hiking group and were the slowest people. Along the way they talked and eventually became friends despite their age difference. It was only after a few more meetings she found out that Aunt Yi Min was in deed Liu Yi Min, the Madam of Liu Family that dominates hospitality Sector in Q City and other major cities in the country.
"After your meeting, accompany me to the beach side. I want to see the sun set. I already asked around your schedule, you'll be free by that time."
All Han Meixiu could do was to agree. Thus after their short encounter, she went directly to the conference room. Her luggage was already on the way to her room. The meeting wasn't really that long. They were only informed about some minor details and gave their respective schedule.
Since there was still few hours before sunset, Han Meixiu went back to her room and checked the laptop given to her. Though it was a little old, she could still use it to access remotely the files of Emerald Imperial Hotel's C&E database. Just to be safe and to avoid unnecessary problems later on, she would do it anonymously and erased her track after. The important was the answers she needed to present to Xiaozhi.
Madam Liu was already drinking her fresh orange juice when Han Meixiu arrived. The place was perfect for witnessing the sunset. Both of them smiled at each other. And as the latter sat down Madam Liu noticed something on Han Meixiu's.
"Is there something on your neck?" She asked curiously.
She was surprised and realized that because of the sea breeze, the scarf didn't cover much the part of the mark since she just casually fling it on her neck. "It's nothing. Just some minor insect bites." Then she smiled.
"Insect bites you on the neck?" Madam Liu doubted her answer. She looked like she's suspecting something. "I've heard that Little Zhi scolded you last night and made you cry. Is that true?"
"Huh?"
Seeing Han Meixiu's expression, Madam Liu continued. "The assistant director of C&E told me. He asked me to help him explain the situation to Little Zhi. But…"
Han Meixiu started to feel uncomfortable. That kind of expression on Mdam Liu was telling her that there's a not really good train of thought on her mind.
"Those insect bites, are they related to my son?"
She really didn't know how to answer it. She just avoided her gaze and bit her lower lips. Then she heard Madam Liu laughed out loud.
"He's in deed my son! Can I see them?" She asked while her eyes were shinning as if she discovered a great treasure.
Han Meixiu slowly removed her scarf and the three equidistant marks were revealed. Another round of laugh vibrated to the air from Madam Liu while Han Meixiu lowered her head and blushed profusely.
'Nice revenge. I didn't expect that. You gain one point Little Zhi.' Madam Liu told herself while smiling cleverly.
