I winced. My eyes fluttered open. Something cold was lying on my forehead. Slowly moving my hand and thanked fate I can still feel myself.
"Its an ice pack" said Ella. I turn my head to the left and see my sisters. John was in no sight which was hard to believe. I was in my room again.
"No offense Marissa but you look dead" Nora muttered. I sit up on my bed and the ice pack falls on me. I pick it up and put on my side table.
"Do- do mother and father know?" I stammered.Ella rolled her eyes.
"Of course they do" she said. Oh my goodness. They probably will be outrageously furious. Aron and Jackson are now in major trouble because of me. I should've never left the mansion. Just then, everything from the forest rushed back. A man. A head. Two holes. Holes that were familiar and something unforgettable. it's here. It's here and it's killing. Will it come for me? Is it the same monster from my memory?. All those questions were horrifying me. It's here and it won't stop killing.
"Marissa. You should've stayed home" said Nora.
" I can't always be kept in as a caged animal!" I snapped.
" whoa whoa Marissa we are only doing this to protect you" said Ella.
"You think you can just talk to us like this while we were the ones who were in serious trouble with mother and father. You've got another thing coming" Nora said coldly.
"Lets leave her alone. She probably might cool down" said Ella.
"Fine. Take care Marissa" said Nora. They then walk out and shut my door with a thud. I see the ice in the pack melting and dripping into droplets of water on my floor. tip tip tip tip, it went. I have to go to the guards work room and apologize to Aron and Jackson. I bet they are swearing while they're working of what I brat I was. I don't blame them. I slide of my bed and leave my room. I head back downstairs. The work room was a few inches away from Captain's office. WORK ROOM KNOCK BEFORE ENTERING was written in bold letters outside the door. I knock the door.
"Who is it?" said a voice that sounded like Jackson. He truly sounds depressed and mad.
"Uh it's me" I stuttered.
"Me who?" he called.
"Me, Marissa" I said. There was a loud thap! which meant Aron had given a great surprise to Jackson. A surprise of violence, I thought.
I open the door and walk in. The room was big as I've ever imagined. Almost a size of a ball room.
"Anything you want Madame?" asked Aron, glaring at the floor.
"I wanted to apologize for my- unacceptable behavior" I said.
He looks up and gives a sad smile.
"That ain't important. Your always forgiven but I'm not feeling right about something" he said.
I sighed in relief that they forgave me but was concerned for what he has to say. I beckon him with my hand to continue.
" when your father called us in to eh how do you put it? Yell at us for not bringing you safe, after we were dismissed we heard him say something about an engagement" he explained.
"An engagement?" I frowned.
"Eh um Jackson why don't you tell Madame what happened?" he said and looked down.
"Me? You little coward! Fine. They are thinking about getting you engaged to Damen Enigmar" said Jackson.
No. No it can't be. They won't do this to me! Damen Enigmar is the last person I want to spend my entire life with. What if it's some misunderstanding? They probably heard it wrong. I'm sure they have.
"Madame? Are you alright?" asked Aron.
"I told you! You stupid bastard! Now look what you have done. You should've never told her!" Jackson chided. They pick on an argument and I leave. My mind is clouded with questions and I barely know where I am walking to. Tears prickle on my cheek and I turn to sob. My parents have decided. Now we have to wait for the Enigmars arrival and then my life will be an abandoned forest.
