Chapter 6: A date with grandma (part 1)
The next day.....
"Young miss, wake up", Xia Jia tried to wake up Feng Mei as it is already late. If Feng Mei have her watch she will be able to see that it's already nine in the morning.
"hmmm, five more minutes", Feng Mei said as she put her blanket to cover up to her face.
She wasn't always like this as she was always punctual to work but, she just couldn't sleep well last night as she is not used to have mosquitos in her room adding up her anxiety as she also can't believe that she is inside this world.
"Young miss, your grandma would really be furious now. You promised her three days ago that you will accompany her today to the marketplace. You said that you will spend more time with her and also to your parents while you are still an unmarried woman", Xia Jia said trying to steer Feng Mei's conscience while she is shaking Feng Mei's shoulder lightly.
"Fine, fine, fine, I'll get up now", Feng Mei said while she sit up to her bed with her eyes still closed and yawn. She stretched her arms then get up from her bed.
"Mistress, your tub full of warm water is ready now. Would you like to take a bath now?", Xia Jia asked.
"Yes, I would like to and after that, please, prepare some breakfast for me, thank you", She politely replied to Xia Jia and she politely requested as she is not used to be served in her life.
"Yes, young miss", Xia Jia said then bowed again.
Feng Mei took her bath. And she's quite surprised as she saw that her tub is also full of flower petals which she hasn't experienced before. She was really happy and tried to play with it but, Xia Jia kindly reminded her.
"Young miss, just a kind reminder, the matriarch is waiting for you. ", Xia Jia said as she saw that her mistress is quite taking her time long.
"Fine, fine, fine, I'll finish after ten minutes", Feng Mei replied and she really did what she said.
Xia Jia doesn't know about what minute's means but, she doesn't have the gut to ask her mistress, well, in fact, it wasn't the first word that she heard her mistress say that she doesn't understand. It all happened since yesterday but, she just stayed silent and decided not to ask anything at all.
Feng Mei dressed herself up with the clothes that Xia Jia prepared for her. It is white hanfu dress with pink color inner clothes. The belt is made of pink colored garment. She finds it beautifully made as it has also an embroidered flowers in its lower part.
After that dressing up and eating her breakfast, they went outside her courtyard. Xia Jia led her to another route that will lead her to her grandma's courtyard.
In fact, Feng Mei is quite excited to meet her grandma as her grandma died when she was only five years old in her world before. She wants to meet her again as she already deduced that this grandma of hers is the same with the one she had before.
They reached the matriarch's courtyard which is full of flowers of different kinds. There is also a pond in there full of Koi fishes. She smiled while she's seeing her surroundings as she is really fascinated by her peaceful place now which she hasn't experienced in the bustling city where she lived in before.
A servant, which she deduced to be her grandma's personal maid greeted them, "Young miss, the matriarch is waiting for you at her receiving area", the maid which name Xiao Chen said while bowing towards her.
Feng Mei is not used to this bowing here and there but, she couldn't just tell them to stop doing it as it is the tradition of this world and also so she could not flared up her family's suspicion over her.
She greeted her back then followed her inside. She saw that inside were full of antique vases which have flowers in it. She greeted every maid that greeted her inside.
And there in the middle she saw the kind face of a woman which she hasn't seen in her previous world for ages. Her eyes started to accumulate some tears in there but she stopped her tears from falling so as not to instill some suspicion towards her.
