Chapter 5: The Seven Kingdoms
'This can't be real. Am I really transported but, how?', Feng Mei is having her inner monologue again while she is sitting inside her room.
'Well then, I will just first find out about this world I am in', she said as she had made a resolve to know more about this world.
"Xiao Jia!", she called for her personal maid.
"Yes, young miss", Xiao Jia went to her side.
"Would you please take me to the library inside this household?", she politely asked.
"As you wish young miss, would you like to go now?", Xiao Jia asked.
"Yes, please lead the way", she said then followed Xiao Jia outside.
They took different route from earlier as they reached a simple looking room filled with all kinds of books and scrolls. Feng Mei like the design and tranquility of the place, as she is also a bookworm, she likes this kind of place which has a fresh atmosphere.
"Young miss, could this servant help you in what book you are searching for?", Xiao Jia politely asked.
"Oh! I want to look for books about the history of our world", Feng Mei answered.
"Okay, young miss, you can sit in there as this servant look for what you need, young miss", Xiao Jia said as she directed Feng Mei towards the desk inside the library.
"Okay, I'll wait here", Feng Mei didn't reject her offer as she also didn't know where to look first in this massive library.
Xiao Jia asked the servant who is responsible for keeping all the record inside this library so that, she could find the books easily. Xiao Jia found three books that seem to be what her mistress needs.
"Young miss, here is some books that might help you. If it's not enough this servant could still look for more", Xiao Jia said while she put down the books in her mistress's desk.
"Okay, thank you Xiao Jia. I think this will suffice", Feng Mei said then smiled towards Xiao Jia's thoughtfulness.
Feng Mei read the books which are entitled as 'History of the seven kingdoms', 'Records of rulers of the seven kingdoms' and lastly 'The sun kingdom'. These are the books that Xiao Jia gave her as she thought that maybe these books could answer all her mistress's questions.
Feng Mei read from the books that this world is composed of seven kingdoms which named as Sun, Moon, Water, Earth, Fire, Thunder and Air Kingdom. But, there is still someone more superior than this seven kings which is the Celestial Emperor. The Celestial Palace is located somewhere and is much hidden in this world. Nobody knows what they looked like except the rulers of the seven kingdoms. This world is not like those novels which has immortals and the like though, there is also some people who has some super powers but mostly those where high ranking people and they were only few.
As Feng Mei is inside the Sun Kingdom, she also read about this place. At first she was thinking why the heck there are sun kingdom when there were also fire kingdom right?.
Then, she found out the difference. The Sun Kingdom represents light, The Moon Kingdom represents darkness (though it is also a light when darkness comes), and the Water, Earth, Fire, Thunder and Air Kingdom represent the elements they were named to. The Kingdoms names come from the power of their rulers.
After reading about it the whole day, Feng Mei retired to her room and slept early that day and she's thinking that tomorrow she will look for any info about sorcery, transmigration or reincarnation or anything that could help her get out of this world.
