Chapter 1: Prologue
Wobble, Wobble
Wobbling in the midnight streets, Steven took shaky steps; he was drunk to the brim overflowing with booze. He and his friends partied tonight in a newly opened Pub in the city, the pub had offered a discount for the opening week and they had taken up on this chance.
He had drunk like a log, and now was wobbling along without the least bit of awareness of his surroundings. The street was tranquil but a chilling wind was blowing through it.
Whenever the wind passed Steven, he would feel chilled. He had worn a long jacket on him to save him from the cold but the night's wind still felt chilly.
"achoo"
He sneezed with a jerk and his mind cleared up somewhat, he could see that he was nearing a lake and this was good news for him. The lake was in his neighborhood, and his house was just a few meters across the lake.
Well, he still did not wish to return home to that lonely place. He was an orphan after losing his parents 3 years back in an accident. This was one of the most disastrous things that had happened to him. He was in the final years of his University when this occurred; he was just four months from completing his masters in Computers. But what could he do about fate; he just clenched his teeth and went through with life.
But there was something that he had lost that day, he became a loner from that day. Going out with friends had decreased by a lot and as he did not have a girlfriend he became lonelier. Now that he had a good job and could draw a good salary he thought his life would improve but well his loneliness had increased instead.
He just wished that he could change himself somewhat, but well he knew it was not too late as a whole life was waiting for him to do all that. He would change himself and enjoy his life from now on; this was what he had decided.
While in his own thoughts he had already reached the lake, this lake was fairly large and he still did not understand why the local government or Real-estate companies left this lake intact. Yes, that was confusing because most of the lakes that were still inside the city's main blocks had been filled up by the Government to use or bought by real estate companies who also fill them up to build new buildings. Well, this was just his query.
While moving along the lake he caught sight of a bluish light being emitted by something near the edge of the lake. He wobbled towards the blue light and stood at the edge of the lake to find what it was that was emitting the light.
He looked over and caught sight of stone giving off blue light hidden among other pebbles in the bank of the lake submerged in the water. His curiosity won him over and he went excessively near the lake while extended his arms towards the stone in hope to take it out.
Just as his hand touched the stone which was a Cat's Eye Stone with blue shades, his consciousness started to fade. He felt as if the effect of the alcohol had elevated to an unbearable level and he was losing his consciousness.
His body fell in the lake and his consciousness was going out rapidly. He was not able to save himself even with all the thrashing that he was doing and there was no one to save him, finally his body was drowned.
He could never have believed that today when he finally decided to move on from his lonely life, and find something exciting to do, he would find that fate was not allowing him this chance.
His mind slowly got shrouded in darkness while he felt suffocated and lost his consciousness fully.
