He doesn't really need their money to make a living cause he can fend for himself.
He just wanted to let Mei Chen know who he really was that's why he told her about his background.
But he didn't know that Mei Chen would take it so seriously. He figured his princess had watched too many dramas to even think like that.
And he actually find it amusing and cute.
After Mei Chen had calmed down he asked her to close her eyes.
"Why? What are you up to now?"
Mei Chen suspiciously asked him.
"I'm not gonna take you somewhere trust me. Please just close your eyes."
"...."
Mei Chen looked at him dubiously then she reluctantly closed her eyes.
"No peeking..." .
"...."
Mei Chen could here a rustling sound. Then she could feel something hard and square was placed on her lap.
'Hmm. A box? Another present?'
She inwardly guess. Then she heard Kenny's husky voice whispering in her ears.
"You can open them now..."
"..."
She slowly opened her eyes. And she started crying when she saw what's inside the box.
There's a cute little white kitten quietly sleeping ontop of a square cushion.
"Surprise. Do you like it?"
Kenny whispered. Mei Chen nodded and looked at Kenny who was smiling on her side.
"Where did you get this furball?"
She asked him. Kenny told her about how he and the little cat had met.
He saw the little stray kitten when he went to the park thinking of ways to surprise Mei Chen.
He was sitting in a bench all alone and deep in his thoughts when he heard the cat meowing under him. .
He looked at it and it started purring and rubbing against his legs.
It was so friendly and docile. He remembered Mei Chen always watched videos of cats online and so he had an idea to make it as a gift.
He picked up the cat and brought it to a veterinarian.
He had it checked and groomed. He took it home and gave it food and milk.
He even bought a cat bed for the little fellow.
The cat was awaken by Mei Chen's sobbing. It slowly opened its eyes and adorably yawn.
Mei Chen was delighted to see the cats uneven pair of eyes.
One was light blue and the other one was grayish in color.
Mei Chen cuddled the kitten and it started purring in her palm.
She really wanted to have a cat but due to her hectic schedule, she cancelled that idea.
She knew she couldn't properly take care of it.
Being a pet parent is a responsibility and not just a hobby that can be neglected.
"What do you like to name her?"
"Mimi. Let's call her Mimi."
She cheerfully said as she stroke the little kittens head.
"Mimi your mom and dad will take care of you so you don't have to worry that you will go back to the ditch again."
Kenny said while looking at the little furbaby in Mei Chen's hand.
I dedicate this chapter to our house cat Mimi. I heard from my sister that she passed away. :(
