After hearing the commander suddenly shout, the group knew they were done for if it was just the demons and no commander then they would probably be able to beat them. But since the commander could boost morale as well as being powerful himself, they were dead meat. But even though they all thought that they were going to die, they would still fight the demons to death. Ark was a little more optimistic than the rest of them but he still wasn't sure whether he would survive or not.
When the demons were only 10 meters away Ark and the rest decided to charge as well, one thing that Ark quickly noticed was that the commander seemed to be interested in him, and wouldn't let him do whatever he wanted. If he went to the right then the commander would go right, if he went left then the commander would do the same. At first, Ark was a bit crestfallen since he didn't want to battle the commander since he didn't think he could win against him. But he would do it anyway, he would test out his strength for real this time. He couldn't run away anyway since the commander would easily catch up to him.
The thunderous sounds of metal clanging and soldiers roaring were dreadful for the weak-minded person. The atmosphere was heavy as the air was slowly permeated by the smell of blood. Everyone here battled for their lives at the moment. The people who had a family to go home to back home was fighting eagerly as they would do whatever it takes to see their loved ones again. The ones who didn't have a family considered the rest of the guards their family and didn't want to see any of them die.
Even though the humans were at a disadvantage, they battled with everything since they had to, the demons were, of course, taking this seriously, but they were sure they would win so they didn't want to risk their lives if it wasn't necessary. The battle was very intense, with neither of the sides giving an inch, the assassins were swiftly moving about in the battlefield picking off enemies, one by one, but every time they did their injuries would grow heavier, and with time they would die as well. Annette was standing in the back raining down destructive magic on the enemies, even though she had taken out staff and tried to be conservative, her Mana was quickly draining.
The human party was pretty lucky since the opponents didn't have any magic casters, but that also meant that there were more troops nearby and that the demons were probably about to invade the human empire, starting with the Estridsen Kingdom. The reason you could make the assumption that the demons were going to invade and that there were more forces nearby was that a squadron would never come alone. This was because the front line soldiers would be essentially harmless if they ran into magic users without some magical support.
Whilst there was an intense battle to the death going on around them Ark and the demon had started fighting if you could call it that. Ark wasn't going all out in the beginning so the commander was just playing with him at this point. Seeing the mocking smile the commander had on when they were fighting Ark was finally infuriated, he started to gather all of the water and fire Mana in the surroundings, as well as what he had in his body to make an all-out attack. He decided to this since he would still have his ice to rely on if it didn't work as he wanted it to since his ice was his final trump card right now.
As they were clashing against each other Ark suddenly backed out a couple of meters, this made the commander bring up his guard a little since he still felt that there was something special about this wolf in front of him. All the demon did though was to just put up his defensive Mana barrier, the defense might have been his strongest forte, but not making a counter-attack to cancel out some of the force was just insulting. Ark then instantly shot forward and swiped with his claws, the attack was aimed at the commander's chest since Ark wasn't confident enough to be able to hit some other more well-protected places like the jugular vein. The attack was very swift as it had already arrived in the next second, clashing against the commanders Mana Barrier.
Ark was a little excited since he had hit him with one of his stronger attacks, what horrified him a little the next second was the fact that he had barely even hurt him. Even though Ark had fused his fire and water to make an incredibly powerful claw attack, the commander had just gotten three thin lines on the top of his skin, they were not even red since they hadn't been able to draw any blood. This demon had lived up to its name as it was incredibly sturdy and didn't want to take any damage at all.
....
The commander sneered after receiving the attack and seeing the wolfs shocked expression, did this wolf seriously think it could deal any damage to him? Seeing how this wolf thought that it was almighty he wanted to slowly tear it apart, to show it who was boss and that there would always be people that were more powerful than you. Or well, to be honest, he just wanted to see it suffer.
The commander's name was Abaddon, he had grown up as a commoner in Geneha and had enrolled in the army when he was of age, he had to this since he didn't have any form of money to spend on living necessities, and he wasn't good at anything else. In the army he had slowly climbed his way up from the bottom, he was still pretty low ranked but it was still a better position than most. After experiencing numerous wars and skirmishes Abaddon had quickly grown accustomed to killing. When he finally got a break from it however he soon noticed that he had become addicted, he loved the excitement of fighting with his life on the line, he loved the feeling of his sword piercing through his enemies and the look they had on their faces when they were close to drawing their last breath, it was the best!
After a while killing had become the only reason for him to participate in wars, not the glory, nor the wealth and spoils of war. Because of his love for killing and reckless fighting without being concerned for his own life, his troops had quickly grown afraid of him, even though they revered him since he was strong.
....
Since his last attack had failed Ark decided that he would unleash his ice element and fight with his life on the line, or at least he would do that if there was no chance of escaping or retreating. Ark had seen Abaddon sneering and slowly gathered his momentum as he slowly unleashed more and more of his oppressive ice element. The air around him quickly started to get foggy and the temperature was quickly decreasing. This brought some excitement to the rest of the human party as they could feel the power that Ark held, and they sincerely hoped that he had a chance of winning, because if he did, then they might just live through all of this.
Abaddon, however, started to get a little angry, he hated the ice element! It was so strong and bothersome, even if the opponent was weak if it had the ice element then it would still be a bother. This wolf in front of him, however, had actually shown some decent strength when it wasn't using its ice, now when it did it would be on another level, almost on his own, or at least he thought so. This time Abaddon drew the sword that had been hanging at his waist for all this time. The sword looked like it was made of some crude iron, but it seemed heavy as it contained a lot of it and was pretty huge!
Abaddon had a very muscular build and he was about 1,94 meters tall, his muscles were very protruding and well-toned. They seemed like unbreakable rocks, but since they were shining with a metallic luster they looked even more intimidating. Since he had such a build he would easily be able to exert a lot of force, even though he had trained his defense more he was still very strong when it came to attacking.
When Ark's momentum had reached its peak he started to create an attack, this time however he didn't put all of his power into one attack since he thought that it would be smarter to wait for the right opportunity. Having said that Ark rushed out, his cyan eyes looked as though they could pierce through the void itself, looking down on the whole world. Since the very beginning, he had started to move, Abaddon had done the same, he had accumulated both his strength and defense to their peak before Ark had come. He had also gone into a stance, waiting for Ark to make the first move, which he did.
When Ark was about 2 meters away from Abaddon he shifted his weight and applied a lot more force to his right paw, bringing him to Abaddon's left side, he then quickly slashed at Abaddon's waist. Abaddon, however, wasn't that easy to fool, he quickly tried to meet the attack head-on. Which unfortunately for him didn't bring him the result he wanted, Ark's ice element had slowed down Abaddon's movement a little since the temperature had suddenly decreased, even though it was just a little it was very crucial in a high-speed fight.
During the tiny amount of time he had earned, Ark's attack had already reached Abaddon's waist, Abaddon's sword had gotten in the way a little which reduced the piercing power of the claw since it didn't directly hit, and Abaddon's sword wasn't as sharp as Ark's claws. The attack had still drawn some blood though as Abaddon's sword had stabbed into his waist a little since he wasn't able to put out enough force in such a tricky angle, especially when he was a bit slowed down. This wound, however, didn't do much to Abaddon's overall combat efficiency, but he was enraged nonetheless since he had been injured by some lowly wolf!
When Ark's attack had landed he used the bit of counterforce that Abaddon had used to propel himself away from Abaddon, since he didn't want to be that close in case of a counter-attack. Which turned out to be a very wise move as Abaddon was enraged, he charged at Ark at full speed, he concentrated all of his Mana on his muscles, throwing away his defense for a much more powerful offense. At this point Ark noticed a very crucial thing to both this fight and just magic in general, it was something which he had never thought about before. You could strengthen your body with Mana, this was what Abaddon was doing when he abandoned his defense since he concentrated all of his Mana in his muscles they gained tremendous power, but he also infused Mana into his bones and his skin, since they wouldn't be able to bear the tremendous burden otherwise.
Since he had concentrated his Mana in his muscles, Abaddon appeared in front of Ark in a split second, Ark didn't have much time to defend at all, he had put up a wall made of ice in the last second though. However, it didn't even take Abaddon a single second before it was already completely broken. But during this time Ark had conjured an icicle, so when Abaddon had broken the wall, what was waiting for him was an attack. The icicle didn't contain that much power though since Ark didn't have much time but it still managed to penetrate one of Abaddon's eyes.
Slumping to his knees Abaddon released a maddening howl towards the sky, when this howl was released everyone else suddenly stopped their fighting and looked towards Abaddon, seeing their leader on his knees, clutching his eye and screaming made the demons lose all of their morale, on the other hand, the humans were ecstatic seeing the wolf hurting Abaddon to this extent, without taking any damage at that.
Ark, however, upon seeing his attack dealing such critical damage he instantly rushed forward. He aimed to instantly kill Abaddon whilst he was in extreme pain and disoriented. On the way towards him though he suddenly turned quiet. Ark felt that something was wrong but chose to attack anyway, since he wouldn't be able to gain another opportunity like this. This however proved to be a fatal mistake as he suddenly felt a sharp pain from his abdomen, Abaddon had disappeared from where he was earlier and was now suddenly in front of Ark. Since Ark had suddenly gotten punched out of the blue he didn't have his magic defense activated.
He was sent hurtling through the air until he crashed into a huge boulder that stood about 50 meters away from the battlefield. Seeing this everyone grew quiet, the demons then started to cheer loudly as they assumed that their leader had won, the humans, on the other hand, had lost their only hope, so they looked quite devastated.
Ark had never felt pain like this before, this wasn't even comparable to the pain he had felt in the battle with the stag earlier. Because this time he had broken a multitude of bones, one of his lungs had even been impaled by the shard of one of the bones that made up his rib cage. Right now Ark had no idea what he was supposed to do, the only idea that came to his mind was to try and surprise Abaddon with his strongest magic when he wasn't expecting it. He couldn't run away since he couldn't even manage to stand up right now.
Whilst Ark was lying in agony on the ground Abaddon had started his slaughter, none of the humans stood a chance against him and were instantly killed. Both Annette and Ark could only sit and watch as Abaddon madly laughed as he slaughtered everyone...
I'm sorry for the small hiatus but i had some stuff to deal with. I'll try and make a longer one tomorrow as well!
Have a good day!
Watching Abaddon slaughter all of the guards made Ark sick, the ways he killed them were brutal, it was borderline torturing. He didn't let any of them just die, he kept on inflicting wounds and cutting off limbs. It was a very gruesome scene, not for the fainthearted at all. The worst part about all of this was the fact that he had been laughing through the whole ordeal, it was such a genuine laugh as well. Ark had never met anyone who even came close to being this despicable. It didn't matter what Ark thought though since he didn't have the power to do anything.
Even though he was just playing with them, the guards still died after a little while, no matter how much they tried to fight back, their bodies couldn't handle it. Annette was crying as she sat on the ground, her purple irises were almost shining in the night and they looked exceptionally beautiful, even though she would soon die. The ground was painted red with blood, both the guards and the demons, this gave the place an inexplicably heavy aura, the aura of a battlefield.
There was only one assassin master left, and he had lost his right arm, he was currently still fighting, he wouldn't give up. The assassins were incredibly loyal, and they would do anything for the one they were protecting. This was how they were raised, they were also taught self-discipline and the art of enduring pain, this made them very scary on a battlefield, as they had nothing to lose and everything to win.
Abaddon was in a great mood, even though he had lost one of his eyes, he didn't care, he loved the feeling of pain on a battlefield. He loved the feeling of putting people into despair and taking away all of their hope. This was mainly why he was so thrilled, the humans had high morale because the wolf had taken his left eye, but then when he turned the tides he robbed them of all of their hope. This felt great to him!
Ark who was lying in front of a boulder wasn't taking it easy and just watching in despair as everyone thought. He had used his healing skill on himself, which had helped him a little bit, but since he felt that it was lackluster he tried to recreate how he had done it when he used the skill, but by himself and with more Mana. This had yielded splendid results as he now felt a lot better, his punctured lung had been healed almost completely, while his bones had realigned a little bit, making the healing process faster. He had also used body strengthening magic on his regenerative abilities. This also gave him a pleasant surprise as he was healing very fast, there was only one problem, his Mana.
Opening his status Ark feared the worst.

Seeing this Ark felt very dumb, not only because of his Mana usage but also because he had forgotten to use quite a lot of his skills, these skills could have been crucial to this fight! How could he forget something as simple and important as this? He also noticed that his water magic had become a higher level, but he didn't use it so he thought that it wasn't that important. Having reflected on himself Ark started to prepare a little bit for what was coming.
Well at least he did what he could to be ready, there were many possibilities of how this could go down so Ark had a lot to think about since he didn't like being unprepared for anything. What he didn't know though was that no matter how much he planned he would never be able to predict what was about to happen. But to be fair no one would be able to guess this, so it wasn't Ark that was lacking anything.
Whilst he was healing himself however, Abaddon had killed the last assassin and was moving towards Annette, he had a vicious grin as he was approaching slowly to make her despair more. And it was working quite well, Annette was scared, really scared. She had always been trying her best to act cool and tough, even though she wasn't weak, she wasn't that powerful, and compared to her sibling and some other nobles, her talent wasn't that great. Now seeing Abaddon, a vicious Iron Demon walking towards her with a grin on his face, she was really scared. She had everything to live for, she didn't want to die.
"Please don't kill me! I'll do anything, just please!"
Screaming for her life Annette had already started running to the best of her abilities, this brought a wider grin to Abaddon's face as he started chasing her. Even though she had only been running for a couple of seconds she had already run past Ark. Abaddon had started a second or two later but he was right next to Ark now. But just as he was about to pass Ark there was a blinding light. Ark that was about a meter away from him wasn't facing the light that had blinded Abaddon so he took this chance to give him an attack.
He put a great amount of Mana into his hind legs as he used all the force he could muster in this small time frame to lunge at Abaddon. He also activated nimble, to gain a burst of extra speed. Abaddon, however, sensed this lunge, even though he couldn't see he put up all the defense that he could muster. The attack landed on Abaddon's left arm as he managed to twist his body a little to try and dodge some of the force. This, however, resulted in the loss of his left arm. Ark was a bit annoyed that Abaddon was able to sense the attack since he could have managed a fatal attack if that weren't the case, he was still happy that he managed to get rid of one of the arms though since that would lower his attack output considerably, his sword was two-handed after all.
Ark didn't manage to back out in time this time though as he was hit by Abaddon's right fist, it didn't manage to damage him that much though as he was able to dodge some of the force, this resulted in Ark skidding across the ground for about 3 meters before stopping. Abaddon wasn't able to output his full strength in that attack earlier, otherwise, Ark would have been in for a world of pain due to his lackluster defense.
The light had now faded and Ark and Abaddon were standing opposite each other with a space of 3,5 meters. They were both intensely glaring at each other. This went on for a full 5 seconds until Abaddon finally spoke up.
"I would have never thought that you would recover so fast!"
"I'm quite sure I broke something!"
This however only gained him a bit of a mocking smirk from Ark, Ark wanted to try and get him a little hot-headed as it would help him if Abaddon wasn't fighting to his utmost ability since he had more fighting experience. Abaddon, however, got excited when he saw Ark's expression since it would be delightful to change his face into one full of despair!
They were both so caught up in their own business that they had both completely forgotten about the blinding light that had been the instigator for their resumed fight.
....
Annette was feeling dreadful, she had started running earlier than the demon but he had almost already caught up, she even had a head start! When the demon was just behind her though there was suddenly a blinding light. This light came from a circle that had suddenly appeared on the ground in front of her. When the light had faded a little she saw a group of teenagers standing in front of her, there was also one grownup in the front of them all. They all looked extremely confused for a second before some started to scream, whilst the others started to chat with each other. They all had one thing in common though, they were all confused.
Seeing this group Annette felt delighted and then confused herself. At first, she had thought that someone had sent for help and that they were wizards who had gotten teleported here to help her, but when she saw the confusion on their faces as well as their strange attires, she was at a loss for words.
"Who are you all?"
When she asked this question they all turned towards her, they all looked confused, then some of the girls started screaming hysterically. In their point of view, they had suddenly appeared in the middle of nowhere, then they had seen a blood-soaked woman asking them who they were, with a battlefield behind her. When Annette heard them screaming she got even more confused, then something inside of her brain suddenly clicked. How could she have forgotten!
"Chant status!"
Hearing this strange woman telling them to this some of them were dumbfounded, what happened next though was that one of them tried it and saw a screen appear in front of them. After making this discovery they then all started looking at their respective screens, talking to each other. Some of them were scared while some of them were excited. The ones who were excited were the ones who had read light novels and could guess what had happened to them. After everyone had calmed themselves down a little bit the teacher stepped forward to try and speak with this foreign woman.
"What happened to us?"
"You have been summoned from your original world to ours!"
"What does that mean?"
"Our world is under the threat of the demon's invasion since we needed help to stop them from killing us all, we have used magic to summon you!"
Hearing this made all of the teenagers a bit hot-blooded since they felt that the fate of the world rested on their shoulders, even if that wasn't the case. The teacher was about to further question this sketchy woman when they suddenly heard a loud BOOM a bit away. Looking over they could see an intense battle between a metal-skinned demon and a blue wolf. Their battle was very intense as the ground vibrated every time the wolf's claws crossed paths with the man's sword.
....
Ark's muscles were beginning to become sore after such an intense battle that was between pure physical fitness. Therefore he decided that it would be for the best if he started to use his magic. At this point he had noticed the newly arrived people, looking at their attire he had also been able to guess that they were from his original world, this got him thinking a little bit, why was he brought here to reincarnate? And why a wolf? He quickly cleared his head from those thoughts though since he had other things to think about, more important stuff!
He started to accumulate all of the ice Mana he could muster, not just inside his body but also outside of his body. Due to the tremendous amount of ice Mana converging around him it created a blizzard that hovered around him, his eyes started to shine way more intensely than they had been shining previously as he stared at Abaddon. Abaddon, feeling this intense pressure being emitted by Ark, decided to use his ace attack as well. Abaddon started to accumulate lots of metal Mana, he also used some of his blood essences to infuse into this attack.
When he had infused his blood essence into the large amounts of metal Mana he started to form it, it quickly gathered into the shape of a giant metal sword above his head. This move had been taught to him by a [Bronze Metal Demon] and it was his ultimate ace attack, since it was very hard to use, and he would be very drained after using it. Seeing how his opponent had made his final ace attack the shape of a sword Ark decided to do the same, he didn't know what shape to make it otherwise so he thought that it was a great idea. Ark, however, hadn't infused his blood essence, he didn't know how to do it anyways.
As both of their final attacks had taken shape the showdown was finally approaching. Abaddon's sword looked about as crude as the sword that he had been using during this fight, while Ark's sword was very exquisite, it looked like it had been carved from the finest of crystal. They both uttered their battle cries as they controlled their swords to strike. When they clashed everything around them started to vibrate, they had both just crudely used their swords and now it was a contest of who had more power.
Ark had wanted to use technique but he had never used a sword before, so this was his only option. The swords ground against each other as the world around them shook. It was suddenly revealed that Ark was winning since Abaddon's sword started to show signs of cracking. He struggled desperately to fight against Ark's sword, but it was all in vain, as his sword cracked. After destroying Abaddon's sword, Ark's sword didn't stop in the slightest and flew at Abaddon at a tremendous speed. When the sword made contact there was zero resistance as Abaddon was cut in half, from the top to the bottom.
When this was revealed Ark felt his legs turn soft, as he was too exhausted to even stand up right now. He felt elated at the thought that he had made it through this crisis when he suddenly remembered something, there were still other demons left! They hadn't been able to interfere earlier since they were too weak, but now Ark could barely move, and their leader was killed in front of their eyes. Seeing their ferocious looks Ark let out a soft sigh as he had no energy to do anything more.
When they were getting close enough to injure him and Ark had given up all of his hope, they suddenly all lit on fire. Their horrible screams didn't even last a single second before they had turned into fine dust, scattering in the wind...
There you go!
I don't know if I can release anything tomorrow since I have school as well as it being my birthday!
But we'll see!
I hope you enjoyed and have a great day!
