As soon as Sasha was mentioned, I dropped by foolish act. I had after all personally experienced the consequences of trying to fool him.
"F-fine. I admit that I remember, ok?" I raised my hands to feel my neck, but discovered to my surprise that it was smooth without any wounds or scars.
"My wounds..." I looked at my fingertips and saw them dry and clean, without anything red staining them. "How...?"
"I wouldn't let an anomaly die without unraveling the cause of the deviation." The cold statement caused me to once again stare at the vampire.
An anomaly... I was an anomaly?
How?
By remembering him? That was the only explanation I could think of.
"What do you mean?" Did I dare to hope that my life wasn't in danger anymore? If so, that would be wonderful.
Unfortunately, he didn't seem to be the most talkative man I have ever met. When he only kept observing me with his keen eyes, I started to get severely uncomfortable.
"So what are you planning to do with me? And my friend?" I couldn't help but gulp.
"You are going to make a trip to the Hunter's Headquarters and release the recently caught vampire. The one you met two days ago during a house party."
"The green-eyed man?" It seemed like this vampire was concerned over that shameless man, but what was their relationship? Friends? Relatives? Though I was curious, I didn't dare to inquire. Curiosity did kill the cat after all.
"Indeed."
"Then you will release Sasha?" My voice sounded a bit hopeful as I observed him.
"Indeed." He didn't anything on his cold, expressionless face.
"How can I be sure that you will stay true to your words?" For all I know, he could just be utilizing this weakness of mine and get rid of us both when our usefulness had been depleted. "And how can I be sure that Sasha isn't already lying in the grave?"
"Follow me." He said curtly before walking towards the door.
I hesitantly let my feet touch the floor and followed the quickly disappearing vampire out of the room.
We walked through a large hallway which connected many closed rooms. Luckily, the entire floor was covered with a soft, richly designed carpet, so I didn't freeze my feet off as I continued to walk without any socks or shoes.
When I started to think about it, I also began to realize that my clothes had been changed. I clearly recalled that I left my house with a black leather jacket, a white T-shirt, a pair of blue jeans and sneakers, but now I was only clad in a white, long nightgown.
A shiver spread through my body. Who changed my clothes? Was it him? That damn vampire?
I pulled at the gown around the neck and peaked down at my chest. A relieved sigh left me as I confirmed that my bra was still on place. That meant that I hadn't been striped completely naked by a stranger, although I was still very upset.
I was so upset, that I eventually couldn't help but to ask about this as we walked down the stairs to the bottom floor.
"You changed my clothes?"
"Indeed." The vampire stated coolly without turning back to face me.
"Indeed?" Even though I knew better than to act upon my feelings at the moment, rage grew within me rapidly. "That's it? You aren't going to explain why you shamelessly took of my clothes?"
Silence entered the conversation and stayed for a while. The vampire opened a garderob in the hallway, which exposed a trapdoor. He unlocked it with a key and then started to climb down the ladder.
"They were stained with dirt and blood." He finally answered as his countenance faced mine before it disappeared down the cellar.
"And who was the cause of that?" I muttered as I gripped the ladder and descended into the cellar.
The first thing that hit me was the musty smell that was similar to the one I smelt when I woke up tied to a chair. Then I realized exactly how poor my dark vision was, since I felt barely distinguish the outline of my hands.
"Ex-excuse me, vampire, is it possible to lighten up? I can't see anything in front of me." I nervously called out in anticipation of a answer from the cold vampire somewhere in the dark. The anger from before had all disappeared in the presence of a growing fear.
Because of the deprivation of my eye vision, my other senses were heightened. The fact that I was trapped in darkness with a highly lethal creature further activated my body into an alerted state. Thus I almost jumped and screamed like a banshee when I felt something rectangular fall into my right palm.
"Wh-what is this?" I exclaimed as I further explored the item with my hands. It felt very familiar with its hard, smooth surface and some tiny elevations spread out to the edges of the item. "Oh, a smartphone."
The screen lit up and I immediately recognized the phone as mine.
"So you stole my selfphone?" I unlocked it and started the flashlight function.
"Holy Jesus!" I raised my head from the screen and immediately jerked back as I saw the vampire standing a bit too close to me. Because of the illumination, his face was shaded in creepy contours and the dangerous glint in his eyes only made it worse.
I took a step back and unconsciously laid my free hand over my chest in an effort to calm down my frantically beating heart.
The vampire only narrowed his eyes before striding away with large steps.
"It has been decided. I am fated to die by a heart attack." I dejectedly mumbled to myself before running after him.
Sorry folks, I have been very busy and will keep being very busy for a long while. X(
