Somewhere else on earth a vicious battle was happening between another human city and the zombie army. The human army was beaten back and quickly retreated inside their walls.
The soldiers all were exhausted and were hunched over trying to catch their breath.
"How the fuck did that city beat that army?" someone said between breaths.
"For fuck sakes, even Adam was pushed back by their elites. Can we even beat them?" another said, his armour covered in blood.
"Shut up. Heal the wounded and get some rest." a tall black man said. His head was shaven and his face was covered with a short beard. A large scar could be seen on his cheek that gave him a fearsome look.
Everyone looked at him with fear and respect. He was their City Lord, Adam. He was a courageous warrior that fought on the front lines with the soldiers. He had a large double handed axe on his back that he used. He was blessed by the West African god, Shango a powerful sky god of thunder. His blessing was very powerful and gave him incredible stats with the element of lightning.
So when his soldiers, who idolized him, saw him pushed back by the zombie king and his powerful guards, it demoralized them.
Adam who was angry with his defeat stormed back to the top of the wall and glared at the zombies down below.
"Don't be to hard on yourself. The pressure you are under would crush anybody else." a black women came from behind him and put her hand on his shoulder. Her curly hair was pulled back into a ponytail, with her armour showing off her arms and shoulders with a battle skirt ending at her knees. She carried a blue spear in her hand that gave off a faint glow. Her name was Nia and she was Adam's wife. She was blessed by the African goddess Oba, who controls rivers.
She knew that the city and all its occupants relied on Adam and the pressure that he was under because of it.
"Obviously not City 01… they already beat the invasion." Adam muttered in his deep voice.
Nia looked out over the wall, "Yes they did… you know we can asked for their assistance." she said softly.
"At what cost though? You know how dark humanity is." Adam said darkly.
Nia nodded her head gently before saying, "Yes humanity is dark… but with the right leader…" she gestured at the troops who were carrying the injured and helping each other and let out a gentle smile, "There's hope."
Adam looked at his soldiers and gave a slight nod. He then reached out and kiss Nia's forehead, "You always see the best of people." Adam muttered against her forehead.
"Lucky for you." she said, leaning into his chest.
"Okay I will ask for help." Adam said as he brought up the city's interface. Taking a deep breath, he sent a message for help to City 01.
"Now we wait and see." Nia said with a smile.
"I won't be waiting, we will still defend and attack when we can." Adam said, not wanting to rely on something that might not happen.
Nia nodded, giving a gentle smile before leaning into his chest again.
Adam wrapped his arms around her lovingly.
…
Somewhere else in the world, a dark man with a trident was slashing down zombies left, right and center. Mutant zombies soon surrounded him, growling at him threateningly. Giving a small smile, the tan man spun his trident in his hands before slamming it down onto the ground.
The moment the trident hit the ground, the earth started to shake and crack, causing the zombies to stumble and fall. This allowed the tan man and the soldiers to easily slaughter the fallen zombies.
"Let's retreat! I'm tired!" the tan man yelled at the soldiers, much to their surprise. None the less they followed orders and followed him back to the city gates.
Once the soldiers were inside the gates closed.
"Whew! That was fun, wasn't it!?" the tan man said, smiling at the soldiers.
They grimaced at his words, use to the man's personality.
"Jason! What the fuck are you doing!?"
A man came stomping down the stairs from the top of the wall in a ball of anger. He wore shining silver armour and was surrounded by guards.
"Why didn't you defeat the king and end it!?" the man yelled, spit flying everywhere.
"Shut the fuck up Ajax." Jason said, barely looking at him.
"You dare-!"
"What don't I dare? Tell me what I don't dare?" Jason said with a dangerous glint in his eyes.
Ajax turned red then green with anger, not able to retort. Everyone knew that even though Ajax was the City Lord, it was Jason that truly held the power in the city. Jason battled with his soldiers on the front lines while Ajax stayed within the city limits, safe with his guards.
The soldiers and the citizens all idolized Jason for his strength and he was blessed by the greek god, Poseidon.
"Just shut up and sit on top of your wall." Jason said, walking away with his soldiers.
Ajax glared at him venomously, gritting his teeth in anger.
…
"Kill the heretics!" a man in white armour said, pointing his sword at the oncoming zombies. White feathered wings sprouted from his back, giving off a white holy light.
"Michael's Blessing!" he shouted as a white glow covered his soldiers, causing them to attack more furiously. The winged man took off into the sky and started to attack the zombies with his large sword.
"God bless Roberto!" the soldiers cried as they watch the angel slaughter zombies.
…
Back in City 01, the soldiers were still recovering but in a happier mood. They had went two days without a battle and it was a welcomed change for everyone. The only thing that worried the soldiers was that their city lord had yet to wake up. Bennet was the spiritual pillar for the city and his health pressed down on everyone's mind.
Ava, Takon and Duke had all returned back into Ben's soul realm. Due to the dragon bloodline Ben had acquired, it caused all of them to evolve, even Ava.
In the City Lord's mansion, Cloey was wiping down Ben's body with a wet rag. Gently wiping his forehead, she brushed his hair back and let out a gentle smile.
"Handsome, right?"
Cloey jumped back in shock.
"Ben! You're awake!" Cloey screamed, jumping into his arms.
Ben hugged her tightly, giving a bright smile.
Rubbing her back, he soothed her. "Haha I am fine. No need to cry."
Cloey wiped her eyes and let out a bright smile. "How are you feeling?" she asked.
Ben examined his body before saying, "Good. Stronger."
