Chapter 3: Yer a wizard, Orion

Believe me, my parents thought I was making a prank when I told them what happened. I don't blame them, to be honest. You tell me, do you often hear voices inside your head and have full conversations with them?

However, when the bell of the house rang, my dad opened the door to the same black -man from my visions.

"Greetings, Mr. Fistore," he said. My father was bewildered, not believing his eyes when he saw the man who looked almost like me.

When I saw my double, the differences between us were small. His pupils were completely black, you couldn't even see the reflection of light in them. His hair was also completely black reaching his shoulders. Also, there was that ancient aura surrounding him, though he looked like a young man with stubble on his chin. In contrast, my hair was brownish-black, while my eyes were dark brown.

He bowed his head slightly in salutation while smiling and said, "Hello, Orion. We meet at last."

We sat in the guests' room around a wooden table that had a teapot and a few cups on it. Facing me was the stranger, which made me nervous a bit. Then, he spoke after taking a sip from his tea, "Let me introduce myself. My name is Richard," he said calmly, "also known as the Dark Phoenix and The Lord of Chaos."

"Cool names," I said, a bit forcefully. He continued, "I was watching you, Orion, for the last few months. Your soul is growing more powerful by the second and you are ready to start practicing your magic."

He said it like all of us understood what he said. "What are you talking about?" my mom asked.

"Forgive me, I often forget that you are not aware of the secrets in your bloodline. Your family is descended from the creator of the universe's lineage. And naturally, you have a high affinity to practice magic."

"Naturally, I am a wizard myself. Here, let me show you a simple spell," he said and, out of nowhere, a long black wooden staff appeared in his hand. That was enough for me, but I suppose he felt the need to make it even more believable by casting a spell that brought a small light.

"Obviously, this is just a simple use of magic," he said with a smile and the staff disappeared.

"But..." I started, "None of us has done any magic before so how do we have a high affinity for it? Even in our family tree, none has done it."

"The bloodline was sealed in order to survive the War," Richard explained, but my parents and I did not know about this 'war'.

"What war?"

"It's a long story," he gave me the I-will-tell-you-later look and continued, "anyways, I expected you to know about this but apparently the mortal history books withhold a lot of information."

"Yeah, they give us the most boring history," I complained, which got me a hit on the head from my mom.

"Alright," he said while standing up, "enough for today. I'll come tomorrow morning to get you to my place. Until we meet again, my good sir and lady. And I wish you a happy birthday, Orion."

He smiled and then disappeared with a flash. As soon as Richard was gone my parents turned to me. "Do you believe him?" my father asked.

"Dad, he just teleported in front of us and you still don't believe what he said?" I asked the obvious question.
