Alexa was still asleep when she was brought to a suite room. Dra. Gonzales, the obstetrician-gynaecologist of the hospital admitted her to rest. Alexa's hemoglobin and hematocrit was a little below normal and that was part of pregnancy. The OB also injected medicines that will lessen Alexa's dizziness and vomiting.
John stayed beside Alexa's bed. Eventhough his tired of attending to his patients, he felt energetic and happy because of the good news a while ago. In his mind, he's planning of something big that would turn their lives into a more happy life,him, Alexa, and coming blessing inside her tummy.
John was looking at Alexa intently. He was overwhelmed with joy. Alexa's eyes started to open little by little and when she was fully awake, she saw John looking at her with twinkling eyes. "Feeling much better?" John asked. Alexa nodded. John kissed her forehead and whispered "I love you so much, Alex!" Alexa with puzzled face, "What's the matter?" "I have a bad and a good news for you." John answered. Alexa kept quiet. "For the next 1 week, you will stay at home, I will take my leave and accompany you. We will both stay at home." John said. "But why, am I sick? What about your patients?" Alexa asked with worries in her mind. "You're the most important person in my life and from now on I will take care of you and our coming blessing." John said holding her tummy. Alexa still puzzled and had no idea of what he's talking about. John saw the curiosity in Alexa's face, " I'm really happy, I want to jump, I want to shout, I'm going to be a dad, you're going to be a mom!" John said smiling. Alexa was shocked, so the dizziness and vomiting she had experienced was part of her pregnancy. "I'm pregnant?" Alexa asked John for confirmation and he nodded. Her eyes started to well up with tears. "Hey! What's wrong? "John asked before he hugged Alexa. "Thank you for loving me. I will love you and our blessing forever." Alexa said while sobbing. They both hugged each other tightly. The door opened, Mr. and Mrs. Graciano, Mr. and Mrs. Cruz, and Rain entered, "This should be a happy occasion, why are you crying?" Rain asked the couple. "Tears of joy." Alexa said. The parents approached their children, congratulating them and telling reminders on how to take care of a pregnant woman. "Dad, Mom, we're both in the medical field so there's no need for that." John said to the oldies. Again there's a knock at the door and Mike entered the room. "Dra. Gonzales is waiting at the Ultrasound room." Mike said looking at the couple and then greeted the others with respect. "Ok, let's go." John said then carried Alexa to the wheelchair and went down leaving the oldies at Rain at the suite room.
John and Alexa are holding each others hands. Alexa is lying at the ultrasound bed, John is beside him, Mike was standing near the door. Dra. Gonzales started the procedure. All eyes are at the monitor waiting for the appearance of an important matter, and then, "You'll be having twins!" Dra. Gonzales said. John and Alexa were very happy, blessings are on their way. Mike congratulated the couple. Bella and Myra were outside and patiently waiting. When the couple came out, "How was it?" Myra asked excitedly. "Twins!" Alexa said and the corridor was filled with happy screams.
The couple returned to the room where the oldies and Rain were also waiting with excitement. "What happened? Is little one ok?" Mrs. Cruz asked. "Little ones, mom!" Alexa answered. "Oh, you're having twins?" Mrs. Graciano asked with a happy tone. Alexa nodded and the air was filled again with laughters. The couple looked at each other, beside them, there's a lot of people that were happy to have their little ones.
