Chapter 17: I don't think we should meet again
Emma sat on the couch thinking what she had done. She just ruined a happy couple's life! Then, Someone rang the doorbell.
Emma peak from the window to see who is it. Turns out it was Derek. Emma remained calm and sat on the couch,while Little Dumpling looked at her with a confused face. The doorbell keep ranging. Emma can't help but open the gates to let Derek come in.
"What do you want? " Emma asked with a cold face."What happened Emma? Why did you left so sudden?" Derek was worried. "Nothing. Are you done now? "
"Emma, can I come in? Just talk to me ok? Let's solve things out. " After hearing Derek's request, Emma asked Little Dumpling to go play with his toys in his room. "Why are you here? " "I'm here to tell you about something. " "What do you want to tell me? You want to kill me because I had make you cancel your engagement or what? "Emma yelled in anger. Then, she burst into tears.
Derek's heart ache. He went and hugged Emma. But Emma pushed him away saying "Leave me alone! " Hearing these words, Derek trembled,but he remained calm. "No, I'm not going to leave you alone! "
"Emma, I have always loved you. " When Emma heard those words, her mind went blank. She can't believe that he liked her too! She thought this was a one sided love thing. Her dreams finally come true. But, she replied
"I don't love you. Please get out from my house now! And by the way, Mr Lim, I don't think we should meet again. " Derek was shocked. Before he left the house he said "I will make you fall in love with me.And no, we will meet again. I promise."
Emma ran back to her room and sat in the corner. She cried. She loves Derek too. But she can't be with him. Because of her, Derek canceled his engagement with Melissa Chong; Because of her, Melissa lost her fiance.
If she's with Derek, it won't be fair for either party.
